"you have seven minutes inside your head. relive the past, revise your words, regret the things that never occurred."
---

I walk inside the garage and see my brother and father working on Jack's beautiful black BMW that my brother reconstructed. He has taken me on so many rides in it and it was the best feeling ever.

I am in love with the car.

"Bambi, aren't you supposed to be upstairs getting ready?" Jack said as he stood in front of the car as if trying to hide it.

"I am but I wanted to see what you guys were doing," I said walking more inside the garage. "Plus, I did finish getting ready. The others are on their way right now." I walk in front of my dad and brother who were standing in front of the car. "What are you guys doing? Your acting weird."

Jack looks at my dad and my dad chuckled and nods his head.

Jack looks at me and sighs. "Well Bambi you're going to college soon, so I want you to have a way to get there so," Jack and my dad move out of the way revealing his black BMW, but it looked like the newer version of the BMW M8. It's beautiful. "I bought it and reconstructed the car to make it your own."

I feel tears prick at my eyes. "You bought me a car?" I asked walking closer to them. "It's beautiful." I go in and hug both of them.

"Happy 18th sweetheart." My dad said as he hugged me back.

"I love you guys so much."

"Say that after I show you this." Jack lets go of me and opened one of the doors on the car. "Look at the seat of the car,"

I look at the seat of the car and see the word 'Bambi' embroidered into the fabric in grey stitching against the white seat. The entire car has white interior.

"You guys are crazy," I said looking at both of them. "Thank you so much." I go over to hug them again and this time they hug back.

"I'm happy you like it, Bambi," Jack whispered in my ear.

"Don't tell me I missed the surprise." I heard my mom say as she walks into the garage, and I release Jack and dad from the hug.

I turn to look at my mom. "You knew about this?" I asked with a smile on my face.

"Of course, baby why wouldn't I?" She said as she walked closer to us. "Do you like it?"

"Of course, I love it. Thank you," I said before hugging her.

"You look, beautiful honey." She said as she released me from the hug.

I am wearing a white dress that ended at my mid-thighs. My brown hair was in loose curls, and I wasn't wearing any makeup other than a bit of concealer, lip gloss, and mascara.

"Thanks, mom," I said with a smile as she looked down at me.

"I also have a present for you." My mom said with a smile.

She grabs a small box out of her pocket and gives me the box. I take it and open the box and see a necklace with a heart-shaped pendant.

"But this is-"

"Mine yes but I want you to have it, baby. Plus, you barely accessorized so you need to put it on to look good for tonight." My mom said while taking the necklace. She goes behind me and puts it around my neck, locking it together. She walks in front of me and looks at the necklace. "They're perfect." She smiled. Before I could say anything, the doorbell rings making me look at the garage door and then back at my mom. "Now you have a dinner to get to."

I look back at my brother and dad. "I promise I will spend the entire day with you guys tomorrow."

"Go have fun sweetheart, but not too much." My father scolded making me chuckle.

"I'll walk you to the door because I don't want him to try anything," Jack said. I said goodbye to my parents before walking upstairs and go to the front door. Jack opens the door revealing Kayden. He is wearing a black shirt with black dress pants. He is also wearing a silver chain. He looks good. He always does. He looks hotter than usual. "Okay I don't want to see you two eye-fucking each other so can we just get this over with?" Jack stated.

I rolled my eyes and look at him. "Be nice Jack."

"Yea yea." Jack rolled his eyes before looking at Kayden. "You already know the rules. Have her back by 11:00 and if you lay a hand on her I will make sure to run you over with my car." Jack said before smiling.

"Don't worry Jack I wouldn't even dream of hurting her," Kayden said before looking at me and giving me a wink. "Now can we go? Cause the others are waiting for us."

Jack looked at me. "I love you, Bambi. Stay safe." Jack kissed me on my temple before saying goodbye.

"Your brother can be an ass sometimes," Kayden said once we got inside his car.

"Yea but I love him." I chuckled and he started the car. "So where are we going?" I asked.

"Cheesecake. Willow and the guys are already there."

"Well knowing Ethan and Mathew they are probably flirting with all of the waitresses while Ben is rolling his eyes."

"Grayson is making sure that they are behaving."

"We can always trust him to watch those two. They are literally two-year-old." Kayden chuckles and I feel him put his hand on my thigh. The rest of the drive was quietly spent as he drove. Something about all of this seems fake, it feels like I am in a dream. I love it because everything is perfect. Way to perfect. "Where are we Kayden?"

"What do you mean? We are going to cheesecake." Kayden stated with confusion on his face.

"No what state are we in and what is the date today?"

"Your birthday, April 16th, and we are in Jersey. We just left your parent's house."

I just realized this now. My parents are dead.

They are supposed to be dead. They got in a car crash.

So why am I here? Why does everything seem so perfect?

Kayden stops the car and I see that he is parked outside of the restaurant.

"Kayden this isn't real," I stated.

Kayden looked at me. "What do you mean?" Kayden furrowed his eyebrows.

I sighed. "I am dead Kayden. Remember?"

I remember the crash. This isn't real. As much as I love this it's not real.

Kayden looked at me and I can see the sadness in his eyes. "I know. I just wanted to make it easier." Kayden turns his body to face me. "But I want to tell you something before you go. I didn't think you were going to realize until after dinner." Kayden stated.

"I don't understand." I furrowed my eyebrows.

"I am simply a figment of your imagination. You can see me as your guardian angel to pass you on." Kayden said giving me a small smile.

"Will it hurt?" I asked.

Kayden shook his head. "No. But I do want to say something to you." Kayden stated and I grab to hold my necklace. I nodded my head for him to continue. "You are the only girl I have ever loved, and I think will ever love. I know for a fact I won't ever forget you and that you are not like any girl I have ever met before. I don't want to let you go." Kayden then puts his hand on my cheek and lightly stroked it. "I love you, Alexis Carter. I need you to come back to me though. Please don't leave me." Kayden said as a small tear sloped down his face.

I put my hand on the side of his face and wipe his tear. "If I am meant to go then I am meant to go," I said softly. "You are probably by far one of the best things to happen to me. I'm okay with leaving knowing I was loved by you." I feel a small tear slip from my cheek. "You didn't hear me say it, but I love you Kayden. You made me love life more after my parents died. I won't ever regret meeting you. Kiss me while I go. It will distract me and hurt less." I asked.

Kayden sighed and I see a small tear slide down his face again. "I love you, Alexis Carter."

"I love you, Kayden Black."

Next thing I know I feel his lips on mine.

Then I feel everything all hitting me at once.
