"once you know someone is there for you and once you know they love you, you never actually think of them again. it's not until you are about to lose someone that you pay attention."

---

"Good morning Alexis," Isabelle said once she saw me walk inside the kitchen. I smile at her and walk over to the fridge to grab a water bottle. "You, okay?" Isabelle asked as I stood up in front of her, drinking out of my water bottle.

I give her a small smile. "Yea I am fine. Just tired."

I couldn't sleep at all last night. It was the worst night's sleep ever. I kept dreaming about the crash over and over. I kept seeing the car crashing into ours before I woke up in bed sweating and breathing heavily.

"Do you want some breakfast? I made some eggs and bacon." Isabelle offered.

"No, I am good. Thank you though." I said my goodbyes to her and walked to the front door.

Once I get inside my car I pull out of the driveway and head towards school.

It's been a few days since Mathew's birthday, also the day Robin's friend almost killed Mathew. He is at home resting. The doctors said that they wanted him to be on bed rest for a couple of days before going back to school. His parents are at home watching him.

The boys go to his house after school to check up on him and make sure that he is doing okay.

I love how much they care for each other. They aren't family or blood related but they are all so close and I know they would do anything for one another. That's what I envy about their friendship so much.

I had a friendship like that, but I ruined it because I was hurt.

"So, Damon Salvatore or Stefan Salvatore?" Carter asked as we watched another episode of The Vampire Diaries, aka our favorite show to binge-watch.

"Easy, Stefan."

Carter looks at me with her eyes widened. "What the heck why?"

"Cause he is hot and has that mysterious bad boy personality. Plus, he is also sweet and caring. But mostly hot."

"No way. Damon is hotter. His eyes are just pure beauty. How can you like Stefan?"

"Stefan is just hot. Plus, he is also the ripper." I said chuckling making Carter chuckle as well.

I hear a car horn beep loudly making me press on the breaks of the car. I look in front of me and see that I was almost about to crash into another car. There were a lot of car horns beeping making my breathing pick up a little bit.

The person in the car I was almost about to crash into flips me the bird, but I don't care. My mind was on the fact I was so close to hitting another car.

I compose myself quickly and continue driving. I even turn down the music to make sure I don't get distracted while driving.

Once I arrive at school I get out of the car and lock it before walking inside the school.

I go inside the restroom and walk towards the sink. I turn the faucet on and throw some water on my face, making me calm down a little.

I look at myself in the mirror and see my bloodshot eyes and my dark bags under my eyes. I look like a mess.

I throw my hair in a ponytail before leaving the restroom and walking to my first class.

I am late but I could care less. I don't go to the office to get a slip; I just go straight to first period.

When I walk inside the class, I see everyone doing independent work, working on their own things while Mrs. Bryant, the teacher, was writing on some papers.

I quickly make my way to the back of the class, next to Willow.

"Hey, where were you?" Willow asked while furrowing her eyebrows.

"Just woke up late," I said in a reassuring tone.

"You look like a mess. Are you okay?" Willow asked.

I look at her and nodded my head while biting my lip softly. "Yeah, I am fine."

The first few classes of the day went by quickly. Nothing interesting happened in those classes. I just stared at the clock until the bell rang for us to leave.

Now it was lunch and when I walk towards our wooden table under the tree I see Willow, Ben, and Ethan, sitting down.

"You look like a mess," Ben stated.

"You and Willow are like twins," I stated as I sat down next to Ethan.

Ben looked at Willow confused. "I said the same thing to her this morning," Willow informed.

I rolled my eyes at them and put my head down on the table.

"You would have ended up like them. Dead."

I look up. "What did you say?" I asked Willow.

She looks at me with confusion on her face. "Nothing. Are you sure, okay?" She asked with concern.

I rub my head. "Yea I just didn't get any sleep."

I put my head back down on the table.

Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale.

You're okay. You're fine.

I feel someone's hand touch my lower back and then sit next to me, making my head lift to see who it was, and I see that it was Kayden.

The last time I saw him was at the hospital. He hasn't been at school, probably watching Mathew to make sure that he is okay. He has texted me though to see what I have been up to and to check in on me.

After what he said at the hospital that night, I didn't say anything back to him. I didn't know what to say. I never had anyone say something like that to me before.

We locked eyes and he was about to say something, but he stopped, and his eyes searched mine. He was trying to figure out what was wrong with me.

I look away from him and put my head on the table.

"What's wrong?" Kayden whispered in my ear.

"Nothing. I'm fine." I stated, still not looking at him.

"Bullshit. Tell me." He demanded.

I lift my head and look at him. "I'm fine Kayden."

Question. And this is very very important!!
Damon or Stefan?
Elena or Kathrine?
