Part 1: Where to go

One hundred and forty nine. That's how many other humans came here to Nabar from Earth with me. Now, I stand alone in a room with several worried looking anabas staring at me.

The woman who was calling out names looked around and then moved towards me. "There seems to have been some last minute complications. You are?" She asked. "Alexander." I replied, trying not to sound too worried. Things like this always happen to me. 'We can't find you on the list' or 'we looked over your name' are phrases that I'm use to hearing.

The woman scanned through her list, "I have you here but it seems that the person you were assigned to be staying with is not here. That is troublesome." Great...so they just didn't feel like showing up or they decided they didn't want to participate in the integration anymore.

"Is their a problem?" Wetam asked in a tiered tone.

"The care taker for this young man is not here sir." replied the woman.

"That is quite a problem. I suppose we should just find him a temporary place to rest for the night. I do apologize young man." Rezala said with a hint of irritation in her voice that I could tell was not aimed for me.

"I could watch over him." came a strong but quiet voice from the young anaba man that I had been admiring earlier.

"Usari!" snapped the man beside Wetam.

"Usari, this is a serious matter." said Wetam.

"It doesn't sound like a bad idea, actually." replied Rezala. "Having one of the humans staying here with us. We could learn a lot. I won't force my idea upon you and Fawyet or try to parent your own child, however, Usari is responsible and very capable. I also believe he's close to the same age as the gentleman in front of us."

Wetam turned to the man beside him who gave him a small nod before letting out an exhausted sigh. "Fine." was his only response.

Part 2: Who are you

We walked in silence for what felt like an eternity. Usari walked beside me with an unreadable look on his face and a servant was walking ahead of us. The servant stopped in front of a large door that he opened before setting down the bag I had carried with me.

"If there is anything you need, don't hesitate to ask!" said the servant with a large smile before he turned to leave. I walked in the room and it was quite impressive, like the rest of this place had been. There was a large white bed in the center of the room covered in detailed carvings around the base. Above it there was a light with thin curtains hanging from it to the floor surrounding the bed. Directly on the opposite side of the room there was a round glass door that opened up onto a terrace that was covered with more vibrant flowers. I could see the purple evening sky beyond that. To the left of the bed was an archway that lead into what looked like a bathroom of sorts. Beside the arch was a large wardrobe. To the right of the room there was a bookcase that touched the ceiling and a simple but comfortable looking couch that was as white as the bed and the curtains.

"This is a beautiful room." I said with a look of awe on my face as I turned to Usari. However, he had already turned and had started down the hall.

"We'll eat in an hour." he said, dismissing me with out even turning his head to look at me. "I'll come and get you then. Just stay in your room."

Before I could say anything else he was gone. I'd call him rude but I couldn't stay mad at the thought of food. I decided to look around my new room before deciding to clean myself up. There was a large tub in the bathroom and I filled it full and settled myself in. It was fantastic being able to bathe in a clean bathtub by myself after being on the ship for so many days and nights. As I sat in the tub my brain began to wander as it often does when I'm not occupied. I wondered why this anaba, Usari, volunteered to watch over me and then seemed like he couldn't care less about me as soon as everyone else was gone. Had I made him angry? All I said to the guy was how nice the room was. I never even got to thank him for letting me stay here. I just hoped that things would change and it wouldn't be as awkward later.

I got out of the bath and went to shave my face in a mirror and dry my hair. I took some hair gel and swept my bangs out of my face. I admired myself for a moment realizing it was the first time I had properly groomed myself since leaving Earth. I then went into the room to search for clothes. Before we had left they told us only to pack clothing that we needed for the trip over so I didn't have anything except for a few tee shirts and sweatpants and the polo and jeans that I had on earlier. Hey, it was a long ride so I dressed comfortably! Then I heard a knock at my door. "Alexander, is everything alright?" came a familiar sounding voice. I wrapped a towel around my waist and opened the door. The servant from earlier stood in front of me holding a hand full of clothes. "Ah, I see you found the bath!" he said with a chuckle. "I hope master Usari informed you that we will be having diner soon. Do you have anything to wear?" I responded with an embarrassed no and then he gave another soft chuckle before making his way over to the bed where he laid out all of the clothing.

There were several of the long, draping robes that I had seen many of the anabas wearing earlier at the gathering and several thin white shirts and matching pants. The servant handed me a pair of the matching set  and told me to go try them on. They were a tad loose, however, they were clean and they covered me so I wasn't about to complain. The servant then told me to pick out a robe and I found a shorter lavender colored one that still touched the floor when I put it on. When I looked in the mirror I thought I could pass for one of the royal anabas. The robe, though it was simpler than the ones that they had worn earlier, fit around me nicely and the long sleeves hung down to my finger tips. It kind of remind me of a Japanese kimono but heavier. The servant handed me some simple white slippers and gave me a quick look over.

"There! Now you are dressed like a proper high ranked anaba!" said the servant as he put the rest of the clothing in the wardrobe and gathered himself to leave.

"Thank you so much! You didn't have to do this, and where did you get all of these clothes?"  I asked.

"It's no trouble at all! They were master Usari's old clothes. He's grown out of them all but most of them he only wore a few time, so I held onto them."

"Well they fit me fine. Oh! I never got your name!"

"It's Maskaushita."

"Ma-sa-coo-chi-"

He chuckled again, "Just call me Maska."

"Maska, I can do that!"

Maska then turned again to leave and I watched him disappear down the long hallway. I walked over to the bed and collapsed onto it. I laughed to myself at the thought of everything that had happened today. I felt my eyes close and I pulled the robe around my self and drifted into sleep with my shoes still on my feet.
