"You know Karma as much as I love my Ryan, Imma need him to take a few pages out of 'The Book of Jesse Duran' because girl, he gave you a black card!" Paola says as Karma hops into the passenger seat of her car and she begins to back up out of my driveway.

Karma tilts her head in confusion, "What do you mean? He didn't give me anything?" she says

Paola nods vigorously and says, "Open up my bag and grab my wallet, his card is in there. It's not hard to miss...since I sure as hell don't own a black card." she snorts looking at the road.

Karma opens up Paola's wallet and is shocked to actually find a black card, "How did you get this?" she asks

Paola grins, "I went to their house this morning before I picked you up. Jesse would've given it to you in person but he knows you wouldn't have accepted it so he asked me to come to get it. He also told me I wasn't supposed to tell you it was his and to pretend I was buying it for you but there's no way you would believe that I magically own a black card." she shrugs

"So we're gonna go pick up Justine, and then we're going to get everything you need to be done today before your date," Paola says grinning, "Oh, and don't fight me about not using the card. Jesse quite literally threatened to kill me if he checks throughout the day and doesn't see any purchases on it," she says casually, drumming her fingers against the wheel.

I close my mouth in shock because I definitely was about to protests but I know for sure she's not lying.

"I only need to get my hair redone and get a dress?" Karma asks in confusion and Paola quickly looks at me, shifting her eyes from Karma and back to the road

"You literally have a man who gave you a black card. With no limit, might I add? Who threatened your best friend's life if you don't use it. I don't think he'll appreciate you spending $200 dollars or something when he expects you to splurge." Paola says, as she parks in front of Justine's house and pulls her phone out to call her.

Justine picks up the phone on the second ring saying that she's on her way and surely enough Justine is strolling out of her house rushing to the back seat.

When she comes into the backseat she says to the two ladies, "Hey! Hey! Hey!" she smiles widely as Paola begins to head in the direction of their first spot.

Justine opens the notes app on her phone and begins speaking, "Paola and I have decided to give you the Justine and Paola experience courtesy of Jesse."

Paola grins slightly calling back to Justine, "I thought we were calling it the Paola and Justine experience."

Justine rolls her eyes, "Same thing. Same thing." she sneaks a glance at Paola in the rearview mirror and looks back down at her phone.

"So the first thing on the agenda is the Bikini wax," Justine says shutting off her phone

"Bikini what?" Karma turns back around to stare at Justine, her look turns into a glare when Justine puts on a pair of sunglasses to avoid Karma's stare

"I don't need a wax right now," Karma says

"So you're prepared?" Justine asks lowering her glasses looking at Karma suspiciously

"Prepared for what?" Karma asks and Paola looks at Justine through the rearview mirror with a straight face

"Karma." Paola laughs not believing how innocent Karma can be, "Prepared to get it in."

"Prepared to hit the sack," Justine says

"Prepared to flick the bean," Paola says hitting her hand against the steering wheel

"Prepared to beat the meat." Justine laughs

"Prepared to pop the cher--" Karma cuts Paola off

"Alright, I think I get it." Karma says, "What makes you think we're doing that."

Paola scoffs, "Girl, I'm surprised you haven't done it already,"

Agreeing, Justin says, "We don't need to remind you how fine your boyfriend is. I just assumed you'd want to get it over with because you've been thinking about it a lot lately."

Karma widens her eyes, "Well I wouldn't say get it over with. It's just...if I were to lose it, I'd want Jesse to be the one I give it to."

"Right so what better night than tonight. Your parents are working late shifts too so they won't even be there when Jesse picks you up and drops you off at home. At this point, it's a sign from God."

"God is giving me a sign to lose my virginity?" Karma raises her eyebrows

"You know what they say, babe. The lord works in mysterious ways." Paola says doing the sign of the cross and kissing her fingers dramatically.

Justine speaks up, "Karma what did they even say when you said you were going out with Jesse tonight?"

Karma shrugs, "I just told them the truth and said, he's taking me out to eat. I guess Jesse being a kiss-ass to my parents for the last few weeks kind of made the whole thing easier. I guess they trust him."

"Better hope they don't find out what he actually does any time soon."

Karma sighs, "No. Jesse is really good at what he does and he's mastered how to lie really well. It'll take a while before shit hits the fan like that."

"For a gang leader, you sure do have a lot of trust in him," Paola says impressed

Karma nods happily, "He just told me the other day he wouldn't leave me in the dark or anything. He's my whole heart. It's easy to trust him when he's done nothing but make me feel safe. "

Justine and Paola 'aw' quietly, happy that their friend feels so secure in her unconventional relationship. Although both of them still had their doubts about how stable the relationship would be a year from now, they were content that their friend was content

Justine claps her hands excitedly, "Then it's decided we're still getting the wax!"

"I don't care how annoyed you are, I'm just glad I get to keep my life since we helped you go all out," Paola says as they walk out of the clothing store where Karma had gotten her new dress, "I don't think he'll care that we got a lil' something for ourselves," she says winking at Justine as they giggle over the dresses that they had gotten individually

"That'll show him the next time he holds a gun to someone's head." Paola grins in triumph, high-fiving herself

"I can't believe you guys bought 3 dresses that I just looked at before I found the one I wanted," Karma said

"We thought you might chicken out in the one you picked or you might be all indecisive so we got you options, courtesy of Jesse." Paola smiled as they all headed towards Paola car

When they were all settled in, they decided to go to Karma's hair appointment. Karma decided she wanted a lace-front wig due to the fact that she doesn't wear wigs often and tonight had been a special occasion.

After the hair appointment, The three ladies were on their way back to Karma's empty house, to help style her, apply her makeup and give her whatever pep-talk she needs to get through what would be a very eventful night with Jesse.

"The Paola and Justine experience has done it again!" Paola claps her hands together after Justine finishes applying the finishing touches to Karma's makeup. Karma, not being a fan of anything too glamorous, requested a natural look and Justine was glad because natural is all she knew how to do.

Spraying on the setting spray Justine glares at Paola, "The Justine and Paola experience. Girl since we came home all you did was sit on the bead eating Taki's" Justine says reminding Paola and Paola shrugs

"I get to help her zip up her dress." Paola throws another chip into her mouth.

True to her word that's exactly what Paola did, when it came time to put on the dress that Karma chose, Paola made sure to push Justine out of the way to zip it up and even got down on her hands and knees to buckle up Karma's heels.

At some point through this process, Karma couldn't help but shed a tear or two because she was thankful that although she didn't have many friends, the ones that she does have cleared their schedules to practically hold her hand whilst she got prepared.

Justine is sitting downstairs with her legs crossed, sitting directly in front of the door waiting for Jesse while Karma and Paola stayed upstairs because they wanted to take the role of Karma's parents as they give Karma away to Jesse.

Jesse had let Karma know that he'd be picking her up at 7 PM. As soon as the clock on Justine's phone showed that it was 7, the doorbell could be heard sounding through the whole house, causing Karma's nerves to act up again as she stared at her nails nervously

When Karma and Paola reach the staircase ready to go downstairs to meet Jesse, Justine's voice can be heard talking to him, "Okay, young man. What are your intentions with my friend?"

In true Jesse, fashion is response is anything but kind as he scoffs, "I could ask you the same thing, cripple impersonator."

Paola and Karma gasp deciding that it's best to go down there before Justine says a few things she regrets.

With Paola following behind, Karma walks down the steps. At the sound of her footsteps, Jesse cranes his neck to look towards the stairwell and his jaw drops slightly in awe, as he turns his whole body to get a better look at the woman he had been itching to see all day.

Oblivious to his stare, Karma looks down as she walks, trying not to trip over her dress or anything. When she reaches the bottom of the staircase, Karma flips her hair back behind her shoulder and clears her throat before her eyes meet Jesse's widened ones, now that she's given him a clear look of her face

"Kar." Jesse says as Karma walks closer to him and he extends his hand so that she can grasp it, drawing her closer. A bouquet of white roses in his other hand that she hadn't noticed until she looked at the suit he had been wearing.

Jesse Duran in a suit was a rare sighting.

Taking the roses from his hands, Paola rushes over to Jesse and says quietly, "I'll just put these in water."

Jesse takes this as an opportunity to grab both of Karma's hands resting his forehead against hers. Removing her hands from his grasp she wraps her arms around his waist, a smile on both of their faces as Jesse runs his hands down her back, rubbing in circles.

Taking a breath, Jesse says, "You look beautiful. I didn't know purple was your color."

Blushing slightly, Karma breaks the eye contact they have and forces herself to look at the tie that he's wearing, "Thank you." this moment of shyness only lasts for a few seconds though because she's quick to include, "The dress isn't the only thing that's purple though."

Jesse's eyebrows raise, not sure if he understood what she was trying to imply. However he had a feeling, and he was confused but intrigued because Karma had never said something this forward since he's met her.

He clears his throat slightly, creating space between him and Karma as he goes to grab her hand again, ready for them to head out. He ushers Karma to walk in front of him before he remembers something, "Hold on, baby."

Turning around to face Paola who was standing near Justine with a look of confusion he says to her, "Where's my card?"

Paola sighs dramatically as she hoped that he would forget about it but she reaches inside of her back pocket, walking towards him to hand him the card, "I bought some things for myself by the way." she said deciding to be honest

Snatching the card from her hand and giving it to Karma to place in her bag he says, "I had a feeling you would."
