I couldn't sleep very well last night because all I could think about was how I would face my parents this morning.

I did sleep better though. After arguing with Jesse saying that I would take the couch to sleep in for about five minutes, he agreed to let me sleep there at that moment. I don't know when he picked me up and carried me into his bed but I woke up in the same bed that I woke up in a couple of weeks ago.

Surrounded by the plush navy blue comforters I looked around and found his alarm clock, the numbers shining bright red telling me that it was 8 AM. I would be more stressed if it wasn't for the fact that I had been out for the whole night. I checked my phone sitting on the table at my right that I guess Jesse put to charge near the bed. I saw that I ironically had no missed calls or texts besides Paola telling me about the new season of masked singer and that Ryan had finally texted her back.

I was about to get out of bed when the door swung open and Jesse walks in with his bare chest on display, glistening with water trickling down it as his hair was dripping. I was trying so freaking hard not to stare but I couldn't help it. I swear to you it was something out of a commercial or a show. He literally shook his head as a last-ditch effort to rid the water out of his hair before he grabbed the towel in his hand and rubbed it over his hair a few times. I didn't even notice the towel on his waist that exposed how defined his v-line was and I--

"Keep sexually harassing me with your eyes, it'll only boost my ego." he comes towards me and places his fingers under my cheek and lifts my jaw to snap my mouth closed and I can't help but look away in embarrassment.

I swear my jaw wasn't that low.

Coughing awkwardly into my fist I keep my eyes focused on the bedsheet as Jesse continues to look down at me as he's still standing over me. "I just came to grab some clothes, I'll go change in one of the guest rooms. Come downstairs to get something to eat," he tells me before he walks towards the dresser opening up one of the drawers and getting a pair of black basketball shorts and a grey wife-beater before leaving the room, shutting the door behind him.

Letting out a breath, I lay my head back on the pillows and pull a pillow from the left side of the bed and place it over my face to muffle my screams.

I have already made it known how beautiful I think Jesse is but that was in my head!

And here I am exposing that thought in the most obvious was possible--I cannot with myself.

I decided to stop wallowing in my shame after five minutes of just sitting here feeling dejected. I get up and swing my legs around the side of the bed and jump down since it was pretty high.

I open the front door and walk out of the room quietly, thankful the top floor of this damn mansion was carpeted since I was feeling kind of cold anyway. My arms were starting to become a home for the goosebumps rising on my skin.

I walk down the stairs heading towards the direction where I hear voices. As my foot touches the first step I hear voices and I pause hearing that they were talking about me

"You need to start getting better at this whole gangbanging thing. There's no reason why the same girl has caught you on the job twice in one month." I hear a voice that belongs to Scooby and I choose to stay frozen where I am knowing he's talking to Jesse.

"You act like I sent her an RSVP every time I have to do something like that and that she just chooses to show up because blood is a cute aesthetic." I hear Jesse's voice as it drips in sarcasm

"And the fact that you let her stay here! Seeing you do it a second time is enough reason since she actually remembers it. What's gonna happen if she blabs to one of her friends about us, man?"

"She wouldn't do that. You heard her last night. If she knows what's good for her she'll stay quiet."

"And if she doesn't?"

"Then she'll have to go."

"You said that last time, dawg. What happened to--"

"Well, then you're hearing me say it again. Drop it, Cyrus." Oh, so that's his name. I'll still call him Scooby even if he did order me Chinese last night.

I hear a sigh, "Well when this shit goes south and you get locked up because of some bitch who can't--

"Why is it that whenever you speak negatively on a woman, you resort to calling them names. You know her name, don't call her anything outside of it like that, Cyrus." I hear Jesse say in a voice that gives me the vibe that he is very much annoyed with his friend. I couldn't help but swoon a little bit over the fact that he can be that respectful. "And didn't you say to all of us that you thought she was 'cool' after she cursed me out?"

...Well, he's never been respectful to me in my face. But I appreciate what he said. If only most people understood how annoying it is to be a woman, and constantly hearing people refer to us as 'females' or 'bitches' whenever they're upset. Any species can be female but only human beings are referred to as women.

I hear a loud sigh, "Fine. whatever man. I'm just tryna let you know that you might regret showing this much remorse all because she couldn't mind her business."

"That's my problem to deal with."

Hearing enough I decided to walk downstairs and make my presence known to the three men in the room.

As I reach the last stair the voices stop and I'm met with silence when all three of them stare at me. Cyrus leans back in his chair cracking his knuckles as Ryan swipes through his phone probably talking to Paola. Jesse motions me over, curling his palm in my direction and pointing at the seat he's currently sitting in as he gets up allowing me to sit.

I see that there is an Egg McMuffin and hashbrowns on a plate with a medium cup of Hi-C in front of me when I sit down. I couldn't wait to eat even though they had gotten me food before I went to sleep.

I immediately dug in and because I couldn't help myself. It tastes that good and it's my favorite thing to get off of the breakfast menu. Jesse walked up the stairs after muttering that he was going to go change.

I was almost done eating when Jesse came downstairs wearing a black hoodie and light blue acid-washed jeans. He looked at me questionably silently asking me if I was done. He drops my phone in front of me that I left in his room.

This might be my last meal before my parents kill me so I might as well go all out.

I shake my head silently telling him, no.

Jesse stands behind the counter while Cyrus, Ryan, and I are at the large dining table. It's silent as none of us know what to say. But Cyrus is the first to break the silence, "So like...are you gonna leave now or--" he says before Ryan cuts him off with a slap behind the head causing Cyrus to scowl at him before looking back at me. "I mean...how are you getting home?" he draws out

I shrug my shoulders finishing the last of my hashbrown and say, "I don't know. I'll probably call an Uber or--

"I'm taking you." I hear a voice say causing both Cyrus and Ryan to look up at him as I almost choke on my Hi-C

"No, you're not," I say slowly narrowing my eyes at him.

"Funny." he says leaning over the counter, locking both of his hands together, "I don't recall asking any questions." he shrugs and I cross my arms.

"Yeah and I don't recall wanting to come here in the first place."

"I don't recall asking you to get involved in my business countless times again."

"Well I don't recall buying a front-row seat to, not one, but two of your little bloody domestic arguments with grown-ass men"

"Well I don't recall why I even chose to keep you alive because I could very well blow you--

"Can you both just leave! The negative energy in this room is really making it hard to not put a gun to both of your heads." Ryan says loudly and this shocks all of us as we all turn our heads to look at him because he's usually happy-go-lucky

"What?" he says looking at all of us "I can't be the joyful one all the time. All of you are idiots." He sighs and picks up his phone again muttering a 'damn'.

------------------------

I decided that I was going to allow Jesse to take me only because I wanted to save money.

Not because I was afraid he'd kill me or anything.

We were in his Range Rover again as we sit silently listening to the radio as it was playing low.

I didn't want Jesse parking in my driveway or anything just because I don't need a certified murderer knowing where I live.

Deciding to indirectly say that when we reached a stop sign, I tell him, "Hey, you can like park right here. I don't mind walking the rest of the way." I want him to stop the car three blocks from where I live. It's a far walk but It's my only option.

He turns to look at me for a few seconds before unlocking my door and facing the road again. I'm shocked I barely have to put up a fight as I get out of the car wearing the outfit I wore when he took me.

I start to walk towards my house as the 10-minute walk awaits me.

I'm not even halfway through my walk when I hear a loud honk from behind me and I turn to look at the culprit not surprised when I see Jesse's car staring back at me. He rolls down the passenger side window and I hear him say, "You enjoy being difficult huh?" I don't even get to answer before he says, "Get in."

I turn back around and start speedwalking towards my house hoping he gets the idea but quickly when I do so, I hear screeching tires as the range rover has now zoomed up to where I am and Jesse is driving alongside me.

"I've never met a girl who's as big of a confusion as you are"

Charming...

"I have no problem driving alongside you like this," he says as I don't respond

A few seconds later he says, "Actually yeah I do. You're really starting to piss me off."

I keep walking as I refuse to let him coerce me into his stupid car.

It's silent for the next minute until I hear a gunshot and I scream loudly in horror clutching my hand to my chest and I look over to see if Jesse is okay

I'm not even surprised to learn that he did it himself as he aimed the weapon out of the window on his side.

My mouth drops in shock. "Are you crazy?! Why would you do that?!"

"Get in this fucking car or so help me I will go out there and haul your ass inside here myself." he says gravely, "And I promise you, I won't be gentle."

----------------------------

"Thanks for the ride," I say defeatedly. I willingly got into his truck and let him take me home.

My parents' cars aren't even in the driveway when we pull up and this makes me squeal internally.

Like Nicki said, No I'm not lucky. I'm blessed.

They most likely got held up at the hospital. My mom is a doctor and if my suspicion serves me right, the lady that my mom has been waiting to give birth, her water must've broken. My mom cares so much for her patients she most likely stayed overnight.

That explains the no phone calls.

My dad is one too and he most likely stayed there to watch over her.

Oh, my freaking gosh. I hope I remember to pray tonight because God deserves a thank you.

As I remove my seatbelt he says, "I wish I could say 'no problem' but..."

I get out of the car and slam the door behind me. I walk up to my front door and I turn to notice he's still in his car watching me.

Opening the door, I shake my head and walk inside.
