"Oh shit." I heard a voice when I walked into the gas station. I looked back on guard. The hell? I recognized the bow legged nigga behind the rack of chips. I smiled to myself. It must be Christmas.

"Damn Pax last time we even talked was when I showed up at your place to fuck you up, but you didn't show. You had run off to Waukegan by then." I chuckled while lighting a spliff already. "Yeah, let me get two packs of them dutches. Irish Fusion." I told the Arabic man behind the counter throwing down a five dollar bill.

"So you knew where I was the entire time?" he decided to finally reveal himself. Damn. He looked down bad. Niggas going out sad. Got my girl pregnant and didn't even take care of his seed. That's karma.

"I'm Cato. I know everything. Well, at least almost." I chuckled referring to him fucking my ex behind my back and having a baby with her. "Good looking man." I nodded at the man.

"So why didn't you come and kill me then? Wait I get it, you was waiting for a moment like this." he got into his fighting stance pulling up his pants. I shook my head because that was all I could do. He look like a straight bum. Can't believe this was my bro once upon a time. He could've come up like me, but he had to betray his brother for some pussy.

"Nah man. I'm a changed man. Besides it was never that serious over some pussy, but I did want to kill you over the disrespect. If this was three years prior you'd be laid out on this motherfucking pavement with your head split open you feel me. For the record." I chuckled. He looked around nervously.

"I-I'm sorry about the way things ended. At the end of the day we're men and I've put the past behind me."

"I did too. But aye you still fucking with Natalie?" I raised a brow.

"Psh. I left her ass on the side of the road two years ago. She was turning into too much of a powder and power head for me. I need to see her soon though, you know she stole my chains from me. You think you can locate her?"

"Tough luck. I'll tell you this though," I ashed the blunt I rolled in the car on the sidewalk.

"What?"

"You'll see that bitch soon." Bow!

I sent a hollow tip straight through his forehead causing his eyes to roll to the back of his head and his body to drop almost instantly. I spit on him before dipping and driving off. I'm cool with Danny the store owner. I paid off a few debts for him so I ain't worried about him snitching.

Pax was a leak in my operation. He simply knew too much and a little birdie told me he was looking for a come up on my name, so I had to get him out of the way. Pulling up to Jaydas I took out my notepad from my glove compartment before scratching out his name.

I dialed up Jayda's number smirking to myself when she answered on the first ring.

"What?"

"Aye watch your tone when you speak to me."

"Wassup?" Her tone lightened.

"Open the door, I'm outside."

"Wha—" she spoke in disbelief. She opened the door in only a pair of spandex shorts, and oversized shirt and some slides.

"Catora you cannot just be showing up to my house unannounced. What if I were busy?"

"You busy?"

"N-no but that's not the point."

"Well I don't see the point of this conversation. Chicken or shrimp?"

"That mothafucka' fat." I mumbled to myself watching her strut in front of me.

"What did you just say?"

"Huh? Nothing." Goddamn.

Catora nigga how did you let that one slip through your fingers.

"Mommy, who's at the door?" I heard little feet damn near stomping holes through the floors.

"Who the parent you or Jayda?" I folded my arms across my chest.

"Catooo" she screamed running. I pulled up my pants to crouch down and lift her up into my arms when her little body hit mine.

"Look at you princess. Still pretty as can be." I touched her braids that were up in a braided ponytail.

"My mommy said I got my face from her that's why."

"I know that's right." I bumped her fist before putting her down. She's not as light as she used to be. "What are y'all up to?"

"Cooking up some gumbo and then maybe I'll go get a chocolate fudge sock it to me cake."

"Mhmm it already smells so good." I slithered my arm around her shoulders trying to get a whiff of the seasonings. My body was behind hers so while I was trying to get a sniff of the food I had to press my body against her backside.

"Catora, can you hand me those two celery sticks." I backed away barely, to grab the two from the island behind us. She placed them on the cutting board to begin chopping them up.

"You do that so easily." I watched her slice the celery into thin slices.

"A trick I learned from the chef at my restaurant. Wanna learn?"

"Yea. It's a couple niggas who owe me some debts and I can practice more on their fingers."

"While I'm cooking, really? Spare me the details." I chuckled standing beside her as she showed me how to properly slice.

"Hey you're catching on faster than I thought you would. Might have you cook for me when I'm at work." She bumped her hips with mine. I bumped hers back a little too hard causing us to laugh.

"In your dreams. You ain't gone turn me into no goofy ass house nigga." I told her straight up so she wouldn't get any ideas.

"Whatever. Now I don't know if I'm coming to that dinner."

"What? Why not? We already reserved the seats."

My brothers and I wanted to celebrate me officially being a billionaire. I was the youngest to ever do it like that in this game. I had to knock a few high ranks down with a fight of course, but I did it.

"Well he's just going to have to unreserve it or find someone else because I am not trying to show up like the lonely ex-girlfriend. I don't even have a date, so Ima be like eight wheeling. No thanks, I'll pass."

"Bring a friend duh."

"I don't have any friends. Duh." She rolled her neck.

"Well you should come anyway. Ari be the only girl and I'm getting scared because she getting more nigga by the day."

"She is not the only girl."

"Nope, don't count Hari. Her and Ari don't get along."

"I'm not coming. And I just forgot that easily that I have to be at a meeting with a customer and his lawyer. This man claims my people put nuts in his food when he told them not to because he's allergic. He's lying. One thing about my chef is he's passionate about his job and a bit too precise for me. And we were closing that night so there were literally two people left in there so how could anyone have mixed up the orders!" She stabbed the knife into the cutting board. I took the knife out of her hand before gently moving her aside.

"You should tend to your daughter over there getting ready to write on the wall." I pointed out Justyce with markers in her hand.

"Justyce!" She gasped before she stormed over to the baby who got caught red handed and ran off.

"That gumbo was delicious." I patted my rock hard belly.

"I know." She said cockily. I embraced her into a hug rocking us from side to side.

"Think about the dinner."

"I already did, but if it'll get you to leave faster and off these streets I'll say I'll think about it." She laughed.

"Night."

"Goodnight Catora. And put on your seatbelt."

The gumbo definitely warmed me up from the cold weather today. I don't know why I felt a sense of warmth leave my body when I left her house, and it wasn't because of the weather.

I rolled down the window to show her the seatbelt across my chest before driving off.

Pulling into my driveway I sighed.

"I need a smaller crib." I told myself looking at the mansion. It was beautiful. Beautiful architecture and grass. A pool and six car garage. Maybe it just needed more people?

I gave my snipers a thumbs up before turning the key into my door instantly being met with the face of Alexis.

"Cato finally. I was starting to get worried. Where were you?" She raced towards me pulling me into a hug.

"I stopped by Jaydas." I removed my coat and shoes.

"Again? Cato, are you serious?"

"Problem?"

"Uh yeah I have a problem with my boyfriend spending more time at another bitch house than he spends time with me."

"You need to stop being jealous. It's not a good look for you." I didn't like how she was always trying to come for Jayda like she was some side bitch or something. I already told this girl we are just friends.

"No, you have to understand. I'm sick of this. How would you feel if I stayed at Ryan's house for hours of the day and played house with his kid?"

"I wouldn't feel shit because that wouldn't happen and Ryan is gay as fuck. Tell him not to ever send me a friend request again." I referred to her gay best friend.

"You're fucking her." I busted out laughing. She threw the couch pillows at me. I chuckled trying to dodge the hits.

"That's your conclusion? Alexis come on man I just be checking in on her she's been going through it lately and you know that."

"What about me? I've been going through it too."

"You haven't told me shit." I said as a matter of fact.

"That's because you're never here for me to tell you!" She shouted. I stopped joking and listened. She looked truly hurt. "You didn't even know my dad died three days ago. You weren't here to comfort me." her voice cracked. Shit.

"Damn Lex. I-I'm sorry I didn't know. Come here." I scratched my head. Her bottom lip poked out as she slugged towards me into my hug and I sat down with her in my lap.

"That's crazy. So old Randy kicked the bucket." I shook my head. He was a father figure to me for a short period of time. He was the one who showed me the basics to fixing car problems and I thank him for that.

"He died, Cato. I miss him so much. He was my rock."

"I know." I rubbed her back until she fell asleep. I kind of felt bad because I was thinking of another woman and going back to her house.

I hope she shows up to the dinner. It'll be great.
