"See you at two forty five Kenneth!" I watched from behind the elementary school gate as the brown skinned woman waved her son goodbye. I scanned her quickly when she turned around. You wouldn't have even thought she was a crackhead before. I'm sure there's evidence to prove the past on her arms though.

She was short and had a pixie cut. She was surprisingly thick. Usually when I hear crackhead I get an image of a skinny dirty looking person.

I speed walked following her to the nearby bus stop before she could get away.

"You KitKat?" her eyes widened before she took off running down the block. Fuck. I got in my car chasing after her with my window rolled down.

"I just want to talk to you!" I shouted at her. She made a left turn into an alley so I hopped out the car leaving it running before I got on foot and started chasing her.

"Stop running, I just want to talk!" I shouted while running after her. She kept running while looking back and clenching her purse.

"Leave me alone! Please!" She pleaded and her voice was full of fear. I picked up the pace before finally catching up and grabbing her by the shoulder and pushing her up against the gate of someone's backyard.

Her eyes were wide as she tried to fight me off. Her nails clawed at my wrists causing me to hiss at the burning sensation.

"Please just stop. I just want to talk."

"H-how do you know my name? That name? I don't go by that anymore I don't do that shit no more." She spoke quickly, breathing hard over the barking dogs nearby. "Were you a client? I-I-If I stole from you I am sorry I-I can get your stuff back, but it's going to take me a couple of days. Please don't hurt me." She pleaded with her eyes tightly closed.

"Can you stop fighting me please? Listen just to clarify I am not a cop. My uncle was Benny, Big Bentley," her face softened, but it was softened in fear. '' He was murdered almost three years ago."

"Oh no." tears instantly filled up her eyes and she began to shake.

"Woah woah woah my bad. Maybe I should've started off saying that I'm not trying to hurt you. I don't want revenge. I was told by a little birdie that you were there when it happened? Kenzie right?"

"I don't know what the hell you are talking about now leave me alone."

"I don't want to hurt you, but I will do anything to get what I want out of you."

"I-"

"Wait, let's take this to my car."

After getting into my car I drove and parked somewhere in the street and locked the doors.

"That case was closed." she spoke.

"It's closed because bitches like you don't want to speak up and stand up for what's right." I don't know what came over me, I just snapped.

"Speak up? Stand up for what's right? Your uncle was a pig! He was a fat sloppy good for nothing woman beating rapist! I'll stand up for the killer before I ever try to defend Bentley's honor." She was disgusted.

I don't know what came over me, but all I saw was red and before I could stop myself, I sent a hard blow to the left side of her face. She let out a sound of agony.

"Don't you ever speak on my uncle's name in vain ever again. My uncle was an honest man! You knew the type of man he was yet you chose to be around him."

"I've been punched harder by your uncle." She chuckled turning to me while holding her face. Shaking her head. "I didn't choose him, he chose me. He saw something in me like eggs for example. That's our son I sent into that school baby. But he ain't your kin because Bentley never existed." She smiled.

"I don't want to get to know that nigga anyway." I scoffed.

"Now what do you want to ask? I have to go to work."

"Who killed him? Simple."

"I'm not a snitch. Find your own bird to sing for you." She pulled at the handle until she realized the child lock was on.

"Who killed my uncle? I know you know."

"I've never seen their faces. They were masked." My ears perked up at this new price of information.

"Their? There was more than one killer."

"Yeah. They ran in and killed the entire crew off execution style. Your uncle's goons didn't even have time to draw their guns." She rolled her eyes. "I can give you a little piece of information though for a pretty price of course. Money first by the way."

"Cool cool anything. How much?"

"Ten thousand dollars."

"Bitch I ain't loaded like you think I am." She sucked her teeth.

"You're Bentley's family aren't you supposed to be? Wait a minute, he ain't leave you a cent? Oh my gosh." She laughed obnoxiously covering her mouth. "I'm sorry it's just that is so like him. He's even selfish in the grave. God I can't take-" she placed her hand over her heart trying to get over her laughter.

"How about five hundred? That's all I can afford to give you."

"Okay. Money first though and I don't take checks."

I unlocked the doors and got out and popped my trunk to retrieve five hundred dollars from the money I found in the wall. I got back in and she had a smile on her face. Money hungry bitch.

"Looks real to me." She finished scanning the money before putting it away in her bra. "Now what I am about to tell you just might get me killed."

I nodded my head urging her to continue to go on. My heart started to beat out of my chest. This was it. I'm about to solve my uncles murder case. I told you I was going to make you proud unc. I told you.

"His killer was the best thing that's happened to me in the last twelve years and if I knew where Bentley's grave was I'd drill a hole in it and spit in it." My passenger door opened swiftly as I lifted my head taken off guard. I came to my senses that I had been played and got out of the car to chase after her again.

"Fuck!" I punched on the moving bus that she hopped on. She smirked, giving me the bird through the window. That bitch.

I slowly made my way back to my car bucking at bystanders staring at me like I'm crazy. But I smirked when I realized I still had a chance. I'll just be waiting at the school gates at two forty five. To pass time I sat in my car texting Jayda. She texted me back saying she's at her old friend's place still and there's a bad storm about to hit.

Who's her old friend though?

I hope it ain't that Cato nigga because for some reason he's been popping up in my life lately. Maybe God is trying to send me a sign.

He's fucking your bitch.

No no no. My conscience is not going to get the best of me this time. Jayda isn't like that. She's loyal, kind and smart and an amazing mom. But she's very closed off about her past and I'm always left curious about it.

I didn't even know I fell asleep until the alarm I had set on my phone began to ring. It was two forty five and just as I suspected there she was waiting for her son.

I decided to just follow her bus route until she got off . They were passing by a blue building when I snuck up behind her with my gun and placed it to her back so her son didn't have to see.

"You didn't actually think I was going to let you get away with that shit did you? Tell him to go in the house." I whispered harshly into her ear.

"K-Kenny baby go in the house and make me and you a sandwich. Lock the door!" The little boy looked at me skeptically while walking slowly to the doorway of the house. Damn he looked kind of like me. He had to be no more than six. What the fuck am I doing? I'm tweaking.

"I want a name right now or I'll blow your brains out right here on this sidewalk." I pressed the gun onto her temple.

"Okay okay okay. I'll give you a name just don't kill me I'm all he has."

"Don't fucking bullshit with me. Name!"

Her lips began to move at sixty miles per hour.

What she said caused my entire world to freeze. I clenched my jaws at the name and at this moment, I had a plan to kill my girlfriend.

I didn't even bother to drive to my apartment. I drove straight to Jaydas house. I sat in her driveway tapping my fingers in the steering wheel. Hours passed by and she still hasn't shown up. I didn't want to text her or anything because I'd ruin everything.

This girl told me she was spending the night because there was a tornado where she was at and it was too dangerous for her and Justyce to travel. Bullshit. I don't see no fucking tornadoes.

So I decided to sleep in my car in front of her house. I didn't have a key to her home so I had no choice and I wasn't about to go home, I was too tired.

I awoke to a text and two calls from Jayda saying she's on her way so I got out of the car to take a piss in her bushes before sitting down on her porch.

I had finally found the answers I had been looking for, but it's weird because now I regret finding out. I felt like I was slowly molding into this person I never wanted to be.

My ears perked up at the sounds of a car pulling up in front of her house, but I didn't bother to look up. I knew who it was when I heard the voice of Justyce talking about how much fun she had.

"Why are you sitting out here like some maniac? Go inside Justyce." Jayda asked me, but I was too pissed to look at her and I didn't want poor Justyce to see her mother get her ass beat. What makes matters worse is, I didn't take my medication today.
