“Hey,” Mia said, as Ellie got into the car

Ellie leaned over and kissed her. “Drive.”

Mia didn’t seem to understand. She looked at Ellie’s bare feet. “What?”

“Go down there,” Ellie said, and pointed down the street. She started kissing Mia’s neck, “Don’t sit right outside where he might see us.”

“Oh yeah,” Mia said, and started the engine. She put the car in gear, but then just sat there without doing anything else. She seemed to be waiting for Ellie to stop, but Ellie didn’t.

“That’s distracting,” Mia said in the end.

“You’re distracting. And you’re only going that far, so just go.”

“Stop,” Mia said, and tried to push Ellie away.

“Nope,” Ellie said, and kept kissing. “Go.”

After a moment, Mia did. She drove a little way, to the next empty parking space, while Ellie kept kissing her neck. Mia drove slowly, as if she was having trouble concentrating, then stopped, and parked, and turned around in her seat so her neck disappeared and Ellie had to stop kissing.

Mia was looking back towards Ellie’s house. “Is this too close?” Mia said.

They were parked about four houses away.

Ellie shrugged. She and Mark never talked to their neighbours, so it didn’t really matter what the neighbours saw. She started kissing Mia again. Kissing her, and undoing the buttons of her shirt.

“Shit,” Mia said, and looked around. “Dude…”

“There’s no-one around.”

“You can’t tell,” Mia said, and put her arm over her chest to stop Ellie. “It’s dark.”

“Yeah,” Ellie said.

“No, I mean, you can’t see who’s out there.”

“And they can’t see us.”

Mia didn’t seem convinced, and Ellie supposed she was right. The street lights were bright enough for her to see Mia’s face, which probably meant they were bright enough to show anything else they might happen to be doing.

“It’s fine,” Ellie said. “There’s never anyone around. It’s a quiet, boring suburban street where ever no-one fucks in parked cars.”

“Okay,” Mia said, and seemed to be trying not to grin. “So won’t that make it worse if anyone does see us?”

“Nah, ‘cause no-one will be looking, because…”

Ellie stopped, and waited until Mia looked at her.

“Because how it’s a quiet boring suburban street where no-one fucks in parked cars,” Ellie said. “Come here.”

She gave up on Mia’s shirt, and reached up Mia’s skirt instead, stroking Mia’s legs, feeling their smoothness, grabbing at Mia’s underwear, and trying to pull them off.

Mia put her knees together.

“Hey,” Ellie said. “Don’t.”

“You really want to in a car,” Mia said. “It’s kind of awkward.”

“It’s kind of hot.”

Mia looked at her.

“I know,” Ellie said. “It’s awkward. It’s also finishing what we started ages ago.”

“I suppose.”

“And you so can’t say no to that,” Ellie said, quite pleased with herself.

She leaned over again and kissed Mia some more.

“No I can’t,” Mia whispered into Ellie’s mouth, and, apparently distracted, she let her knees relax.

Ellie slid her hand upward and grabbed Mia’s undies again.

“Hey,” Mia said, then, “Leave them on.”

“Now you’re shy?”

“Yep.”

Ellie kept kissing, and wriggled her hand around, trying to reach inside Mia’s clothes. She was having trouble, because everything seemed very fitted. The skirt, which made grabbing tricky, and the undies too. Because obviously Mia’s underwear was tight, Ellie thought, since the skirt was fitted, but it didn’t make this very easy.

Mia hadn’t dressed very sensibly for visiting her secret lover and fucking outside in a car.

“You should have worn something else,” Ellie whispered, still kissing, still wriggling her hand.

“What?” Mia said, into her mouth. “To work? No way. Be gentle.”

“You could have changed before you came over.”

“I could,” Mia said. “I didn’t. Careful of your nails.”

Ellie tried, but couldn’t be as careful as she wanted to. Everything was in the wrong place, between fitted skirt and car seats and Mia’s knees not being very far apart. Ellie tried to push with her arm, to make Mia move her legs, but Mia couldn’t. Because of the fitted skirt.

Ellie tried again pushing her hand into Mia’s undies, pushing harder, and suddenly felt her fingers pinching, at the same time as Mia gasped.

“Sorry,” Ellie said. “I’m sorry. Don’t wear such sensible undies.”

“They’re not.”

“I can’t get my hand inside.”

“That doesn’t mean…” Mia said, and looked at Ellie. “Whatever.”

Ellie gave up. She moved her hand and rubbed Mia on the outside of her underwear instead, through the cloth.

“See?” Mia said, but her eyes were closed and her voice dreamy and Ellie wasn’t completely sure what she was meant to be seeing.

Mia felt warm through her underwear, almost burning hot. Ellie thought she could feel a little dampness too, but she wasn’t sure. She might just be imagining it, or feeling her own sweat on her finger. Ellie kissed Mia, and stroked her gently. Mia kept stopping kissing to look around, but Ellie didn’t bother. She was holding Mia, feeling Mia close to her. Feeling Mia, after not being able to touch her all evening, and she didn’t want to stop touching any time soon. She wanted to do this properly. She wanted to undress Mia, and touch her all over, and kiss her breasts and arms and face.

“Want to come back inside,” Ellie said suddenly.

“No,” Mia said, then, “Maybe. Won’t Mark notice?”

“I wouldn’t have thought. Not while he’s playing your games.”

Mia seemed to be thinking. “And when he stops?” she said. “What if we’re still…”

Ellie shrugged. “So be quick. And quiet. Or we could just lie down on my bed and hug instead.”

“We’re not going to just hug.”

Ellie grinned. “I know.”

“So that was kind of a pointless thing to say.”

“Yep.”

“Like you’re trying to trick me into your bed or something.”

Ellie was quite proud of herself. “I know,” she said.

“You’re awful.”

“We can fuck on the floor or something,” Ellie said, thinking of sneaking out. “Like at school or whatever? So not on the bed, so it didn’t squeak, but someone sneaking into your room and doing it on the floor?”

Mia was looking at her.

“You never did that?” Ellie said.

“I did that. But someone?”

“Yep, someone. It’d be rude to assume who.”

“You can assume.”

“I’m really not.”

“She,” Mia said, and it sounded like a very deliberate she. “She snuck into my room. Sometimes. My high-school girlfriend. But we never needed to lie on the floor to not make noise.”

“Really?” Ellie said, pretending to be surprised. “Maybe weren’t doing it right then.”

Mia grinned for a moment, then kissed her.

“I’d really like you to,” Ellie said. “Come back inside.”

“I’d really like to.”

“So will you?”

Mia thought.

“I climbed out my window,” Ellie said. “Did I say that?”

“No.”

“Well, I did. So we’re not just going to walk back in past him.”

“I’d assumed the back door.”

“Oh yeah,” Ellie said, realizing. “I didn’t think of that.”

“I gathered.”

Mia was still thinking.

“If it helps,” Ellie said after a moment. “It’s not like he’s always wandering into my room while I’m in bed.”

“Not always?” Mia said.

“Nope.”

“So how often? I mean…”

Ellie grinned. “Hardly ever. Just to talk. And he’ll knock and shit first.”

“Okay,” Mia said. “All right.”

“You will?”

“Of course I will. You know I was going to.”

Ellie grinned, pleased.

“But please,” Mia said. “Please don’t do anything that’ll get us caught. Like being loud or whatever. Or obvious. I really don’t want us him to know.”

“That’s why you spent all night staring at me?” Ellie said.

Mia looked at her. Glared.

“Okay,” Ellie said. “We won’t get caught. I promise. Now can we?”

Mia nodded, and got her bag from the back seat, and got out the car.

“Don’t slam…” she said, as Ellie did.

“Um, sorry,” Ellie said.

“Never mind.”

They walked back up the drive, and Ellie made herself not shout “Shh,” at the top of her voice, just to see if Mia jumped. Or laughed. Or ran away.

It was the chance of Mia running away that made her not.
