-Raven's POV-

I walked up the hill to see my dearest mate asleep, I looked at her peaceful face and contemplated if I should wake her or not. I lifted my hand to wake her but my wolf soon interrupted me.

'Dont, she needs some sleep.' He was right. After all, it had been myself at fault for not giving her anything to sleep better. I looked at her face once more and sat down beside her. My phone soon rang, I hurriedly picked up the call not wanting the noise to wake my precious mate.

"Hello son." His horrid voice filled my ears.

"Father." I nonchalantly said. I placed my hand on my mate's to try and calm myself.

"I see you have met your mate, congrats... son." He said. I hissed, how did he know?

I looked down at my mate, "Lets cut the bull shit father, what do you want." I growled through the phone.

"Just to congratulate my son on finding his mate. A mate you don't deserve after what you did. " He growled back as an attempt to divert power over myself.

"You never deserved her after what you had done to her and mother." I growled louder, standing up to pace as my anger was nearly enough to make my wolf take control.

"She was my mate! You will never deserve a mate!" He yelled into the phone, crying at the pain his heart felt.

"You're weak father, you no longer have the pack to take care of your wicked soul, nor do you have anyone on your side." I smirked. It was true, he had nobody.

"We'll see about that, son." He threatened before ending the call. I stared blankly at the ground. Could he really take my mate from me? Right as I have found her?

I sat back down beside my mate, her head falling to lean on my shoulder. I glanced down, smiling slightly. I stared at the ground for an hour or so planning my father's death. Planning what I would do to him if he even touched a hair on my mate, my precious mate. Planning what type of torture device I would use to rip his guts out one by one. To see his face constrict in pain as his soul left his body slowly. I wanted to see his death; even worse so, I wanted to cause it.  Time had seemed to pass by effortlessly, I had been rather caught up with the previous phone call that I forgot what time it was.

'Aye dude, I need to get Delaney home.'

'Okay, give her the shirt I left in your car so she'll fall asleep tonight.'

I put my hand on Delaney's shoulder hoping she would wake up. After seeing almost no movement other than the slight move to get closer to my hand, I tugged on her shoulder a little bit. I sighed impatiently, "C'mon training is over."

I placed my hands near her ear and clapped, "Ow, no need to clap really loud near my ear." She grunted keeping her eyes close.

I huffed, "Come on now." I watched her, amused. As soon as her eyes opened, the troubles of my father going away as if it never happened.

"Training is over you need to get home before your parents do." I grinned sheepishly reaching out my hand for her to grab.

I noticed my shirt still in her arms, "I think I may need that, dear." I gazed at her hands. Even her hands were somehow made like a goddess.

She furrowed her eyebrows and followed my gaze to her own hands, "Uh haha, yeah... right, of course." She gave me my shirt, I smirked down at her and slipped my shirt over my head.

"Your brother insisted to take you home now." I cleared my throat, suddenly remembering my father's phone call again. I pulled on her hand guiding the way.

"How was the training?" She questioned.

I shrugged my shoulders, "Could've been better." I paused "Did you sleep well?" I asked, hoping she didn't hear the phone call.

She nodded her head, "Even though it was just a hour and a half it was better than nothing." She sighed.

I smiled, "Technically, it was 3 hours, I allowed you to sleep just a little longer. I couldn't bring myself up to wake you up, you looked too peaceful." She put on a worried face and eyes widening.

'Did he watch me sleep? Oh no, did I snore at all!?' I heard her thoughts.

'No, to both of those questions.' I smirked, slightly lying about the fact I didn't watch her sleep.

"How-..."

'I can hear it all dear.' I interrupted and pointed to my mind.

"How do I block you out? You're being too nosy." She laughed.

"I will teach you one day, but until then your going to have to deal with it. " I said, leaning down slightly to look at her fully. She took that moment to slap my shoulder playfully.

We soon reached Jax's car, my phone lit up with the now familiar phone number of my father's. I glanced down at my phone, I looked back up into my mate's eyes. "Uh, sorry I gotta take this. Training begins tomorrow." I said turning around and answering the phone call.

"What now father?" I growled lowly.

"Better prepare for what's coming." I heard an unfamiliar voice.

"Who. Is. This." I growled louder into the phone.

The phone soon went dead on the other side, I threw my phone on the ground in sudden anger. I began to pace, what was coming? What did I ever do wrong? I looked up at the sky, "Please bless us Moon Goddess, Artemis." I whispered. I picked up my phone from the ground, lucky it didn't crack. I burst into the pack house needing to arrange a pack meeting, there is absolutely no way I'm going to let my father take my mate.

---

I stood at the front of the hill, waiting for the high school group to get on the training field. I watched as Jake pulled my mate's arm to the front. I felt oddly satisfied with the fact that my mate was standing in front. It showed her power and rank in the pack. I glanced at my mate for a few seconds before she noticed me, I guess ill go easy on all the kids today.

"Today we will start off with a three mile run." I shouted to the group, looking directly at Delaney. My eyes were seemingly glued to hers and it made it nearly impossible to focus.

I walked towards the front of the line, I let out some of my alpha auras so none of the students would complain about the running as they usually did "Go!" I shouted once more. I watched as my mate burst off, she began to slow down as soon as she noticed she was going too fast.

'No, run at your pace. You're faster than them.' I growled slightly.

Delaney glanced at me, I smiled amused at her speed. 'I don't want to look like I'm showing off, I also don't know when to turn.' She replied.

' You have a little over two more miles left, I'll direct you for when to turn.' I said, she immediately sped up in front of the group. She ran with ease, her legs ahead the rest of her body.

I watched her run through the trees, 'Turn left now dear.' She swiftly turned. I watched as a wolf from the adult practice group began to run beside her. I mentally cursed upon seeing her slow down. I eagerly began to run towards her as she stopped fully. I could feel her fear pulsate in her body. It wasn't until she saw she others catching up that she began to run again.

'Who was that?'

'Someone from the adult training. Your wolf holds much energy, once you shift fully it will be stronger than theirs. Stronger than nearly everyone in this pack' I answered. I cursed at myself, I nearly interfered with her training instead of allowing her to deal with it herself. I began to retreat back to my spot, pacing slightly. Is this what having a mate did to you? Make you vulnerable to the point you want to protect them so dearly?

I watched as Katherine soon caught up to my mate, my phone soon lit up with Jax's name. I answered the call and heard the worried voice of Jax.

"Dude, I just remembered something!" He yelled through the phone.

"What?" I growled.

'Who's she?' I heard my mate's voice. Jax continued to talk on the other side of the phone, while I didn't listen. My mind too fixated on my mate as she ran. I couldn't help but allow my eyes to run over her body, mentally cursing at myself for seeing her in such ways.

'She's part of your class, trained in third last year. Turn now dear' I answered, still paying no mind to what Jax had been talking about.

"Did you tell her yet?"

"What?"

"Did you tell her ?"

I felt eyes on my back, I turned to my side to see my mate looking at me. "Uh yeah, I gotta go." I said, not so sure of what I had just committed to. I smiled slightly upon seeing my mate.

Katherine bowed her head as soon as I walked towards my mate and her.
"Katherine, Good job once again." I congratulated briefly, only because my mate was nearby.

I turned my head and smiled, "Good job to you too Delaney. You and Katherine will be training together today, since you two seem to be acquainted." I said tempted to just hold my mate in my arms.

'I hadn't thought you would do as well as you did. I must say, I'm impressed.' I told her and yet I was simply more than impressed. She surpassed my standards unlike anyone I had ever been with.

'Thank you' She replied shyly.

I retreated back to the front of the hill as soon as I noticed more kids coming back from the run. Delaney went back to where she had been earlier, I stared at her for a few seconds before I realized that the kids were waiting.

"We will now practice fighting, get in pairs everybody."

I watched as all the kids began to get in groups. I walked around the training field for a few minutes watching the children fight. I kept an eye on my mate while she fought Katherine, she seemed to have a knack for speed. I looked towards the back of the training field to see two ten year olds fighting. My mother's words soon popped into my head.

"One day you will have children too, you'll have a beautiful mate that will bear your pups." It was indeed something I had always longed for and yet now I had my mate just meters away and I could not act on such feelings I felt. I was already feeling frustrated, to wait two years without mating?

I looked back at my mate to see her on the ground, 'Are you okay?' I hurriedly questioned.

'Yes, I'm fine.' She grunted.

I swiftly walked towards my mate, "That's enough, Katherine." I said, not wanting my mate to get hurt. It was a pain enough seeing how she feared the wolf earlier and now to see her laying on the mat defeated, it furthered the ache in my heart.

"Katherine, teach her some advanced moves please." I said walking away back to the two ten year olds, critiquing other children on the way.

I pondered on my mother's words again, my mother had always seemed to be right. She was right about everything, even now that she's gone she's still right. I do in fact have a beautiful mate.
