-Raven's POV-

I waited in my truck for my brother, I pulled out my phone in impatience as I decided to do some of my alpha work such as answering emails. After what felt like hours but in reality was just a few boring minutes, I heard a few knocks on the window beside me.I unlocked the truck doors allowing my brother in, a sweet smell of cinnamon and nutmeg filled the car. My wolf began to pace in my head muttering the single word I never expected.

'Mate.' 'Mate.' 'Mate.'

I finally heard him say once he slowed down. I sniffed the air again, I put the window down needing to know where the sweet cinnamon and nutmeg scent was coming from. I was a solitary being, I enjoyed my personal time and I sure as hell was not awaiting my real mate any time.

'Jax, I will need you to take care of some of my work for the next few hours.' I mind linked Jax.

Jax immediately replied. 'I have to pick up my sister... can it wait?' He questioned. My anger could be felt in the link, soon I felt his wolf recoil at the thought of upsetting his alpha. Jax and I may be best friends but disrespecting an alpha was unacceptable along with at such a time of myself meeting my own mate.

'It was not a question Jax. Take care of the work.' I replied closing off the link, biting my tongue to not growl out in response to his disrespect.

I turned my head out the window and spotted a petite girl who was staring at my brother, my eyes stared into hers. Did she like him!? She was very young to be my mate yet, that just means I get to cherish her longer. I gazed over her looks, an involuntary smile reaching my lips as I took in every detail. Once I smiled she turned her head and began to walk away. I noticed a blush on her cheeks while she walked out of the school parking lot.

"Uh, Jake sorry we have to make a small detour." I muttered immediately backing out of the parking lot. Surely she has to be a part of the pack, I got no signs of aggression that hinted she was a rouge.

"Open the glove compartment and take out the small cloth, quick!" I raised my voice slightly as my brother did as he was told.

He immediately pulled open the compartment and took out the cloth. He noticed my gaze following the girl as he lifted his head. "Quick question, why the hell do you have this stuff? And what are you going to do to her!?" He handed me the cloth despite his questions. As I peered out the window to check on her I noticed that she was laying on the ground, shit how could I forget!

"I keep it for last case scenario safety purposes, I have to drug her. Her wolf is going into shock and she's shifting, I'll tell you more once she's in the car safely." I said as I hopped out of the car, rushing to her.

I came to her side and gripped her waist, I hesitantly placed the cloth over her mouth. She stared at me with tears in her eyes, my heart ached, both physically and emotionally but, I have to do it. She held onto her last breath for a few seconds before she finally breathed into the cloth, surrendering herself to my arms.   I lifted her up, I searched around the area to make sure no humans saw what had just happened. I opened up the car door with my one arm, I growled at my brother as I noticed his eyes laid on my mate's. He immediately understood what she meant to me.

I laid her in my lap as she continued to shift. I refrained from kissing the girl's forehead lightly as I began to drive to the Pack House as quick as I could. "So she's your mate?" My brother asked, cringing as he looked at her.

"Yes. And I can tell she has a crush on you." I growled hating the fact my mate might have a crush on my brother. I didn't know for a fact that she liked him, however, why else was she staring at him?

He shrugged his shoulders, " Maybe the only reason she has a crush on me is because we look similar and we're brother's." He tried to reason. It was possible, yet I was still easily triggered as my wolf was on high alert. My wolf had not wanted to reason with any logic as he was in a strictly primal state of mind.

I growled at him showing him my canines, "Shut up. Now!" I angrily said. I kept one hand on the steering wheel and the other on the young girl. Moments later I heard the cracks and pops stop, I glanced down and saw a medium sized pure black wolf. I almost got lost in the moment before I realized that I was still driving, I was just mere seconds from crashing into my own Pack House.

"Holy shit Raven! Take a breather for a second she'll be fine!" I heard my brother's voice yell from my side.

I set the young black pup down gently before I turned to my brother. "You do not tell me what to do!" I growled once again. My wolf was just seconds from taking control, I sniffed the air trying to calm my wolf with my mate's scent. My wolf almost instantly resided into the back of my mind. I turned back to the black pup and gently picked her up almost afraid that I'd break her.

"I'm sorry, but seriously just calm down." I heard Jake say, regardless of my previous comment.

I ignored his words and instead sniffed my mate's scent once more, calming my whole body. I walked into the pack house infirmary, hastily sitting the young pup down on a hospital bed and searching around to find Mary; one of the best nurses. As soon as I noticed the familiar gray hair I rushed beside her, "Mary I need your help."

"With what hun?" She smiled, Mary was almost like a second mother to me. In fact, she was the only feminine figure in my life.

I took her frail hand and lead her to the young pup, that I hadn't known the name of yet.

She observed the young pup, "Do you know what happened?" She asked taking notes on a small clip board.

"Uh, well yea ummm. I had to drug her, her wolf went into shock. I didn't want her to feel the pain of the first shift." I frowned, embarrassed with my own actions.

Mary raised an eyebrow as she took notes, "She's your mate?" She questioned, she didn't hesitate as a small grin lifted to her cheeks.

I nodded my head, "yes, I'm not sure if she knows about werewolves yet."

Mary took a few more notes before she took out a sharp syringe, an involuntary growl left my lips as Mary came closer towards my mate with the syringe. "Dont worry Alpha, it's just to keep her somewhat calm when she wakes up." She poked the syringe into my mate's side.

I watched as the liquid entered my mate's body. I sat down on the hospital bed and ran a hand through her fur. "She will be waking up in a few hours at most and minuets at least. I'm not sure if she'll be happy to see you right away when she wakes." Mary said. She was right, because of my actions she will most likely have long lasting trauma towards me. Yet, I couldn't let her think of me in such a destructive way.

I felt my wolf perk up and sensed that she was waking. "Alpha I can just alert you when she wakes." Mary tried to reason.

I growled at her words, "No." I needed to be there when she woke up, I got up from the hospital bed and sat on a chair in the corner of the room.

Mary walked a few steps closer to me, "Alpha, Chloroform is a short term thing. Her wolf is weak, she has not woken up yet. It could be hours before she wakes. You should rest." Mary once again tried to reason.

"No." I growled again staring at my mate's eyes waiting for them to open into their green orbs.

As if on cue, her eyes opened and it calmed me to see her beautiful forestry eyes. She looked around the room and it was a miracle that she didn't see me. "Oh dear, are you okay!?" Mary said as she reached out a glass of water.

I watched as my mate began to get lightheaded when she saw her own paws. "Oh my, how could I forget! You're not crazy don't worry!" Mary said sounding as if she really had forgotten. "Just think of your human self, what you look like." I braced myself not wanting to see my mate in pain again. It was likely that the drugs Mary had just given her would assist in lowering the pain levels yet I still did not want to hear the agony of the cracks and pops.

I stared at the ground as I pulled off my shirt and handed it to Mary, then pulling on my jacket to cover my bare chest. I  didn't lift my head until I knew my mate was done dressing, in respects to her own comfort.

"What's going on?"I heard her whisper. I cringed at the words, so she didn't know anything about werewolves. How could one be a werewolf and at the same time be unknowingly to their own race? Could she perhaps have been adopted? Or bitten at a young age?

Mary turned her head towards me, I lifted my head more as my mate finally saw me. "You, you kidnapped me!" She squealed as she got off the hospital bed and backed away as far away from me.

My heart clenched from the words and her own movements. I stood up and walked towards her. She continued to back up until her back hit the wall. I stopped my steps just feet away from her. "We have important information to discuss, Mary would you please leave the room." I said, I sensed my mate get worried as Mary left. I looked into her eyes for a few seconds before I finally snapped out of my daze. she was beautiful.

"What is your name?" I questioned to her. I so desperately wanted to know everything about her in this moment. We were ancient soulmates for multiple life times and yet I had to slow my actions to exchange pleasantries. I watched as she crossed her arms, guarding herself from me. She did not answer so instead I turned away and grabbed the chair from the corner. Deciding to continue with telling her why she was here. Surely if she knew about werewolves she would know how important I was to her and how special she was to myself.

"You may want to sit for this, most people end up passing out after I tell them what I'm about to tell you." I said, I saw my mate's face light up in anger.

"Why should I listen to you?" My Mate asked as her voice raised in tone.

"Don't speak to me in that manner, now sit." I said simply. I released some of my alpha auras so she would no doubt listen to me. I watched as she did as I said. It was horrible of myself to do such a thing, yet what was going to be done if she would not listen to what needed to happen?

"Have you heard of Artemis?" I began. It was from a young age that my former parents had begun to teach me my own  history and the history of our packs. It was now that I got to tell someone else.

"You pulled me here to talk about a Greek goddess!?" Her voice raised a few more octaves.

I growled upon her rudeness," I said, Do not speak to me in that manner or I will keep you here forever!" I raised my voice, this time showing my true irritation. She disrespected the goddess her self from her tone and attitude. There was a part of me that enjoyed her sassiness and another that found it extremely rude. I sniffed the air slightly as it calmed me, "Now do you know her or not?"

"Yes, she was a Greek goddess of the moon and forests." She replied. I was impressed, she was knowledgeable somehow on the matters. A question I would need to ask her one day.

I nodded my head, she was intelligent no doubt. "Indeed, yet some people think of her as the Moon Goddess." I said. "Werewolves in fact think of her that way. You, me, we're.." I paused.

"What?"

I smiled slightly, "werewolves." I finished.

"Your joking." She began to laugh. She was definitely in denial at this moment. It was expected however.

"Now with being a werewolf there are other things you should know." I continued as she laughed. I fiddled with my fingers as she stopped laughing. I expected her to be in an outrage like most when hearing such things yet she was still processing the things I was telling her.

"Your serious?" She asked. Her eyes slightly filling with tears. I could feel her stress through the minimal amount of a bond our wolves have created.

I opened my mouth to respond, but before words came out of my mouth the hospital door burst open. I growled at who ever interrupted our conversation.

"Alpha-" I heard Jax pause. "Delaney, what the hell are you doing here!?" Jax's shock in his voice. Delaney, what a beautiful name. I looked back at my Delaney and it popped in my head that the two looked awfully similar.

"Jax, I could ask you the same. What the hell are you doing here!?"

Jax turned his head towards me, expecting an answer to my own demise. "I knew you two looked similar." I began to rub my temples from stress. How had I never noticed her? I had gone to Jax's home multiple times in the past yet never noticed her as my mate. It was uncommon to feel the mate bond when your mate is young however, it must be because she is older now. If I had noticed her before and made an impression, would she be so terrified of me now?

"Raven, why is my sister here!?" Jax asked raising his voice.

'She's my mate! Now leave, I have to tell her about werewolves because you never did.' I answer in the mind link. I was irritated, the whole situation vexed me internally. Yet I was an alpha who was skilled in patience.

'haha very funny, Tell me the real reason of why she's here!' Jax declared. It nearly made me jump at him due to his innocence, how dare he deny me?

I growled in the mind link, 'leave now, you will see her once I'm done talking to her.' I ordered .

Jax immediately left without saying anything, "Jax! Wait please!" I heard Delaney's  cries. She rushed to the door in an attempt to follow after her brother.

"You can see him after I tell you everything." I said calmly. Her tears ached my whole being. I would do anything, anything to please her yet, she needed to know first. No matter the amount of pain it caused her to know the truth.

I watched as she wiped her tears, "Mates, they're someone all werewolves cherish. They're the other half of a werewolves soul. They're chosen by Artemis, also known as the Moon Goddess." I paused. "Today you shifted into your werewolf self for the first time, due to my stupid ass forgetting that when young pups meet their mate for the first time they will shift." I scolded my own self for forgetting. I was glad despite my own forgetfulness that I could stop her from feeling the pain of a true first shift.

"I- I don't understand..."

"We were made for each other, we're mates... although,  I wasn't expecting my little mate to be this young.." I paused letting her digest the information some. "Yet, I believe... that everything will be fine..." I huffed, looking up from my fingers to meet her eyes. A forest of green mixed with the earthy remains of honey.

I walked closer to her and lifted my hand, she flinched as soon as she saw my hand. My heart clenched 'she thinks we would hurt her.' My wolf said. It was my own self that caused her to think this, for fucks sake I kidnapped her.
I began to wipe the tears that were still falling from her beautiful eyes. She opened her eyes slowly, I felt the shocks that pulsed through my body and I knew she felt it too. "I will never hurt you, just know that... and I believe there is a little more information for you to know."

I sat down at the end of the hospital bed, I had a feeling she was beginning to trust me, "what is it?" She asked.

I cleared my throat, "I am an Alpha of the Blood Moon pack, an alpha is the leader and first in command. I was given the title at 16. Your brother is the Beta, also known as the second in command." I smiled upon thinking about my next words.

"Since we are, Mates. You will be a Luna, a Luna is an equal to the alpha they tend to take care of the Pack's emotional state." I could tell she was shocked from my words. "I will not force it upon you yet, but until your eighteenth birthday you shall train and form bonds with our pack." I smiled once more when I said 'our' and thinking about my mate being a Luna. It was a future I could only hope for at the current moment.

"How old are you anyway?" I asked, my brows furrowing. I was curious, she definitely was not of age, a problem that would need to be addressed later.

"16... And you?" She replied, countering with asking me the same.

"20." I replied this time simply. Pushing off any further conversation about age.

She nodded her head lightly as she stared at the hospital bed. "Is there anything else that I should know?"

I nodded my head, "A few more things, since we are mates we both have specific scents. Yours to me is a very splendid spice blend of cinnamon and nutmeg, two of my favorite scents in the world." I said almost getting lost in the moment. "What is mine?" I asked, a smile still on my lips.

"I- im not sure..." She said as she sniffed the air. "I think it's," she sniffed once more and paused. "Oranges and vanilla." I smiled once more, but internally frowned.

'Well it's definitely not a manly scent I'd like to have.' I said to my wolf.

' Yeah, what a way to ruin a guy's ego am I right?' My wolf replied. Despite that I knew that it was her favorite scent which I expected her to be called towards when around me.

"One more piece of information, you're wolf is dormant right now. She will not be able to speak to you until you're eighteenth birthday, when you were supposed to have your first shift." I said, still internally overthinking repeatedly of the tragedy Ive personally caused.

"What do you mean speak?" She asked.

"Oh, we werewolves can talk to their wolf side through a process called mind-linking.They can also talk to the Pack through the mind-link." I answered. "You may be able to get some messages through to certain people you have strong bonds with, yet it takes practice. It is also not advised to mind link across long distances as it can weaken both individuals."

I watched as she nodded her head, "I understand that this is a lot to take in. After a while you will get used to it. Trust me." I said knowing she must be overwhelmed. I stood up from the hospital bed and reached out my hand.

She hesitantly took my hand, I felt shocks go up my arm. "Now you may see your brother. He will take you home." I said as I placed my arm around the small of her back.
