       *CHICAGO'S POV*

"This dress is too much." I idly mutter to myself.

Alex's party had started half an hour ago and I hadn't gone downstairs yet.

Why ?

Because I'm busy staring at my gown from the full body mirror in the closet.

It's just... how do I put it ; too much.

My makeup is on point and my hair is loose. The gown is a gold coloured strapless dress with a thigh high slit that covers very little.

My six inch stilletos are the same color as my gown.

Wes had ordered all of this yesterday but I hadn't had time to check them.

Speaking of Wes.

Him and I had made an agreement ; I was to pretend to be his girlfriend while staying at the mansion and in return, he was to let me live my social life.

I took the deal without hesitation.

I needed my freedom.

I just had to show his father, Jayda and any guest at the mansion that we were head over heels for each other. Wes' father,  Richard Hughes wasn't happy about Wes dating a common girl like me.

I roll my eyes ; rich people problems.

He was angry at Wes when he introduced me as his girlfriend the other day. Jayda, the lady Richard was with that day suggested we have dinner at their place and Richard agreed. I came to learn she's  Richard's wife. Dean and Jean's step mother.

"Are you done Ms Brook ?"

I turn to see Ellen examining me from the door.

"You look beautiful Ms Brook." She says and I smile at her compliment.

"Mr Hughes is waiting for you." She says as she leaves.

I check myself one last time in the mirror and head for the door. When I open it Wes is leaning on the door frame holding a single white rose. A smirk plastered on his handsome face.

He looks immaculate in his black tuxedo paired with a white shirt dress. His bow tie, watch and cuflinks were the same shade of gold as my dress. He scans my outfit from head to toe and his smirk widens.

"Wow"

"Do I look that ridiculous ?" I ask, clearly insecure of how I look in this dress.

"No... you look... really nice Chicago."

My cheeks turn a deep red. "Thank you Wes."

He smiles handing me the rose. I smile at his gesture.

"Shall we ?" He asks me while holding out his hand.

I take it and we head to the party downstairs.

"Fancy"

I whisper when we enter the party. The house is already full with guests dressed in expensive suits and gown.

Wes takes me to meet Alex's parents who were staring at us as we were coming down the staircase. He told me Alex was his best friend.

Hmm... the guy has a friend. I basically thought he's a loner.

I scan the room and Jean is not at the party. I guess she's busy distracting Alex so he wouldn't suspect anything.

The music playing is calm and soothing... the one fancy rich people listen to and guess what ;

I hate it.

I was getting bored. Wes had left me half an hour ago at the temporary bar to go greet some friends.

The bar tender asks what I'd like to drink...

"Bourbon, and keep it coming."

I was going to enjoy the party even though I don't know anyone here except for Wes and Alex's parents.

Jean texts Wes informing him she and Alex were coming. We all stand at the door with the lights off.

When the door opens the lights turn on and everyone shouts happy birthday to Alex.

I could see the shock and happiness on his face. His reaction is price less. He hugs Jean and devourers her in a kiss.

Wes is also beside him giving him a hug. Alex then whispers something into Wes' ear that makes him laugh so hard. I take a mental picture of the moment.

I then pick up a glass of champagne from a waiter passing by.

I watch from a distance as Alex cuts his five tier birthday cake. Wes turns and sees me watching him. He winks and turns back to Alex.

I feel my cheeks turn red.

Okay. This blushing has to stop.

I pick up another glass of champagne from a waiter.

"Time for the gifts." Jean says in her sing-song voice.

I eye as Alex receives quite a lot of expensive gifts.

Must be nice being him.

When it was Wes' time to hand out his gift, he places car keys on Alex's hands.Everyone heads to Wes' nine car garage and he presents a red lamborghini to his friend.

My mouth falls open.

How rich were these people ?

I pick up another glass of champagne from a waiter.

When we get back inside I had had enough.I was bored. I ran to the Dj, whisper something in his ear and head for the dance floor. It is already full but I squeeze in.

I was drunk, so when the music starts playing I dance with no care at all. I see Wes watching me and I run to pull him on the dance floor so he could join me.

He holds me by the waist as I sway my waist to the rhythm of the music. I know he is enjoying this as much as I was.

He too dances to the rhythm of the music. I see Jean and Alex come to watch us. She was cheering on while Alex eyes me as if he knows me from somewhere.

He leans towards Jean and whispers in her. She looks up at him and starts explaining something.

I was busy enjoying myself that I hadn't noticed everyone was clearing the dance floor for me and Wes.

When the music comes to an end we both are out of breath and everyone was watching. I open my mouth to say something but before I can begin Wes lowers his lips to mine.

Is he...?

Yes.

He is kissing me. On the dance floor. In front of everyone.

I hesitate a little but eventually kiss him back. His lips were warm are soft against mine.

"DEAN !"

We both freeze in place. I pullaway from Wes and turn to see who was calling him.

"Meghan" I hear Wes whisper behind me.

"Hi honey."
