*WES' POV*

"I'm fine. Where's the bathroom ?"

I stand up to take her but Jayda stops me and my father sides with her.

I hate when they do that.

I watch as Chicago walks in pain. When she reaches the living room door she stops and before I can blink I see her collapse to the ground.

"CHICAGO !"

I run to where she is lying on the floor. I lift her up in my arms. She is knocked out cold. I ran to my car with her in my arms.

Edward is seated at the driver's seat. On seeing me he quickly gets out and opens the back door of the car for us. I lay Chicago calmly on the backseat and sit next to her.

"The hospital ! Now !" I don't even recognize my own voice. I am worried yet all she did was pass out, nothing serious.

Right ?!

The nearest hospital is an hour away. I should have told Chad to organize the jet.

***

When we reach the hospital parking I see four nurses rush towards us. They take Chicago from my arms and place her on a strecher.

Once we are inside she is transferred to a moving bed and taken to the ER.

I follow them pass three doors but at the fourth I'm not allowed to go on.

I need to be with her and know what the hell happend.

I sit down on the uncomfortable hospital chair and do what one of the nurses told me.

I wait.

A few minutes later I take out my phone and find tons of text messages and missed calls from both Jean and Alex.

I call Jean and tell her which hospital I am in. They arrive twenty minutes later.

Jean runs and gives me a hug. Alex stares, worry written all over his face.

"Dean... why do you have blood on your shirt ?" Jean ask me.

I stare at her uncomprehendingly then lower my gaze at my shirt.

She is right.

I do have blood on my shirt. Chicago's blood.

I didn't even notice that she was bleeding.

I clench my teeth to the point where all I feel is pain.

Jean pulls me into a tight hug whispering 'It'll be alright' in my ear.

After an hour of waiting, two nurses and a doctor come out of the ER.

"Chicago Brooks ?" The doctor calls out and I run to where he is standing.

"Yes..."

"You must be her..."

"Friends." Jean beats me to answering.

"Oh... okay. So the patient has a blood clot on the lower right of her head. She seems to have been hit or fell around... six to seven days ago.

Due to the injury not being attended to she's been suffering severe headaches." I listen to the doctor horror written all over my face.

"...when she fainted she hit the same spot again and that explains why she was bleeding when you brought her in.

We checked her weight and she's really underweight for her age. She also has a very large amount of drugs in her blood stream-"

"Antidepressants" I cut the doctor off.

I hear Jean gasp beside me. She has her hand over her mouth.

"...yes. She hast to cut taking them because they're doing more harm than good to her health. She'll be here for a few days so that we can monitor her health."

I stand there and watch as the doctor leaves.

It was all me.

I was the reason she's in here. I hurt her that night and yet she said nothing.

I decide to take a walk outside. I sit on one of the benches at the parking lot.

"Can I ?" I look up at Alex and see he's referring to the empty space on the bench.

I nod in agreement and he occupies the empty space beside me. We sit in silence.

"That's her in there... the mysterious girl." Alex breaks the silence that had build up.

"Yup" I whisper.

"I picked all that up at the party when I saw you two dancing." Alex says.

"She's my writer. I hired her to write my autobiography for me. The one needed for the Frobes magazine competition.

My father knows am writing it myself. That's why I introduced Chicago as my girlfriend because no one has to know she's my writer... and now... now I like her.

Absurd right ?" I chuckle but it fades away instantly.

Alex doesn't ask me any question after that. We just sit there staring at the empty dark sky.

***

"It was me... I pushed her." I tell Jean who's at the reception area filling in Chicago's details.

"What are talking about ?" Jean asks.

"She said she'll be home at nine but she arrived two hours earlier. She walked in on me when I was playing... mom's piano.

She saw me and all the anger that had build inside me wanted to come out. I went and pushed her hard on the floor."

I turn to look at Jean but she betrays not a single emotion.

"I didn't know she wasn't eating. Ellen didn't say anything about that. All that Ellen said was that she's a vegetarian by choice.

I found the pills and ignored them. I honestly didn't know about the headaches she was experiencing. I regret pushing her and ignoring her. I regret all of it Jean."

Jean opens her mouth to say something but I beat her to it.

"...and I like her. I like her a lot Jean."

"What are you going to do about it ?" She finally asks.

"The right thing."
