I looked at the entrance and saw the love of my life walking in with Antara Di, his arm at her waist and her arm hand was wrapped around him. They both looked so happy together. Siddharth was whispering something in her ear and and she playfully slapped his arm while blushing. Siddharth was looking handsome in his navy blue sit and Di was gliding like a goddess in her red dress which had a thigh high slit. The media was going crazy clicking pictures.

I was very confused thinking what is happening , when suddenly they both went onto the stage and Siddharth took the mic.

"First of all I would like to thank you all for attending the party and I hope you all are enjoying yourself" He started saying

"Today is a very special day of my life and I want you all to be a part of my happiness.." he continued while everyone in the room was looking at him in curiosity waiting for him to finish

"I want to inform the whole world today that I'm getting married to the love of my life here Antara Singh..." he was saying something else but I didn't get a word after that. It felt as if my whole world was shattering around me.

Siddharth and Di!!?

Everybody was moving around giving their wishes to the couple but I was frozen in my spot. Physically I was present but mentally I wasn't aware of my surroundings.

Numb

That's how I felt, just standing still there. Not moving not saying anything.

Suddenly I was pushed by someone and they hurriedly said "Sorry" and that's when I came out of stupor. It all came down with full force that I had struggle in breathing.

It was all getting too much for me. I was feeling suffocated. My throat was getting choked. It seemed as if the room was getting smaller and smaller.

Air.. I needed Fresh air to breathe

With that I started running to get out of there, to be away from all this. I saw my parents and brother talking with Antara Di laughing. I was running when suddenly I bumped into someone and was about to fall when they put their arms around me to steady me. My hands were limp by my side.

With the tingles going around my body I knew who it was. Just being in his presence was too much and my eyes started tearing up.

"Are you okay Miss?" He asked

I nodded still with my head down. I tried to get out of his hold when he still didn't leave me. Getting my message he removed his hands from my waist and I suddenly felt cold with the loss of his touch.

"I'm sorry I wasn't watching where I was going" he added while he was trying to look at my face.

I was about to leave from there when I heard

"Anika, its you?" Antara Di called me.

I composed myself and with a smile on my face turned my back to Siddharth and hugged my Di saying "Congratulations!! You are getting married, I'm so excited" I added with fake enthusiasm but I was happy for her. She is my sister, I can't let my sadness overpower her happiness.

"Thank you so much. I wanted to tell you about it in the morning but didn't get the time." She explained.

"It's okay Di. I'm happy for you" I said

"Wow Anika! You look amazing tonight. Doesn't she Siddharth?" She said and though I made it seem like he wasn't present while Di and I were taking but I felt his presence the whole time. I didn't want to talk to him but I couldn't just blatantly ignore him without arising any suspicions and turned to look at him.

He was watching me with an unexplainable emotion in his eyes, as if he was seeing me for the first time. He was speechless and just kept on staring at my face. I was blushing under his gaze but hoped that under the dim lights it will not be visible.

This is what I wanted but not like this. Not now.

"Siddharth?" Di called him again.

"Yes yes..she is looking beautiful" He suddenly said as if he just came out of a trance. Di moved towards him and he instantly wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her close to him. Seeing them both like this my eyes watered.

I need to get out of here.

"Are you okay?" Di asked me with concern when she looked at my face. While Siddharth was again looking at me.

Why is still looking at me?

"No I'm not feeling well. I have a headache so I'm going home" I told her as I wanted to leave from here ASAP.

"You should go home and take rest. How will you go?" Di asked me

"I'll take a cab. I came with Maya and Aditya but I think they already left." I told them while looking around

"Wait. I'll come with you" she said

"No Di. It's your day and party, you can't leave like this. You have guests to attend and I'll manage on my own" I told her and she just started to speak when

"I'll drop her" we all heard someone say and saw Mayank coming towards us.

"You'll drop her?" Siddharth finally spoke. Till now he just kept quiet not saying anything.

"Yes I'll go with him" I said before Mayank could answer.

"Are you sure?" Di asked and I nodded.

We were about to leave when Siddharth said "Since when you both became friends?"

Now I can't be friends with his friends? Why he wants to know anyway?

Before I could say something, Mayank answered "Today and if the lady says yes we'll soon be going out on a date"

I was so shocked after hearing that that I kept quiet while Siddharth was looking at both of us weirdly and seemed as if he wanted to protest.

"You're interested in my sister huh? Anika you have my wishes. You both look so good together" Di cooed and added "Don't they Siddharth?"

"No" he said and we all looked at him. I was waiting for him to continue but he didn't say anything else.

"Oh he's just kidding" Di laughed and Mayank joined her. Siddharth and I were standing still. Him looking at me while I was trying to avoid his gaze.

"Let's go Mayank Please" I said wanting to leave from there. He nodded and after our goodbyes we left from the party but I could still feel a pair of eyes boring into my back.
