The drive back to the manor was uneventful. Clarissa read in her seat as Alex and I held hands. It was dark by the time we pulled up to the manor.

Alex helped Clarissa out of the SUV as I slid out on my own. "Come look," he whispered in my ear as we followed Clarissa to her room.

When she opened her door it looked like a completely different room. Her walls were painted, new furniture had been set up, her books and clothes were neatly put away, and new toys were all over the room.

My heart swelled as I burst into tears. "Oh my god!" Clarissa yelled out as she ran and jumped onto the bed. The giant stuffed bear that was placed carefully at the center of her bed flung into the air. She giggled as she caught him in her arms and belly flopped onto the bed.

"Come look," Alex smiled as he led her to the toybox and the bins with the dolls for her new dollhouse.

Clarissa looked ecstatic.  "How did you do all of this?" I asked him.

"I had some help," he smiled.

"I never want to leave my room!" Clarissa called out happily.

"Thank you!" She flung at him, wrapping her arms around him. He hugged her tightly and kissed the top of her head.

"Anything for you," he smiled. "I have one more suprise."

He led us down the hall to the room on the end. "Open the door love," he spoke.

I reached out and turned the handle. Inside was a large room with teal walls. A bronze pattern made of wood stood out from the main wall, a large desk and two recliners sat in the main area. The three other walls were covered in floor to ceiling bookshelves, with a few smaller shelves throughout the room.

"Oh my," I spoke, unsure of how to react. I stepped forward and began to look at some of the books on the nearest shelf.

"And over here is an extra area for Clarissa to keep the books that won't fit in her room," he said leading us to the back corner where a small couch, sat by a few empty shelves. "I figured though you're welcome anywhere in here, ut would be nice to have your own cozy reading nook," she smiled.

"You did all this for us?" I whispered, tearing up again.

"Of course," he smiled.

"I love you," I spoke, kissing him. "Thank you."

"I'm gonna let this one slide," Clarissa called out, hopping on the couch and picking up a book. We all laughed at her remark. "Thank you so much Alex, this is perfect."

"I wanted you both to feel more at home, because this is your home now too," he smiled.

We spent an hour or two in the library, reading and relaxing. Before long, Clarissa began to dose off. Alex scooped her up in his arms and carried her to bed.

When he returned, I was laying on the recliner. "How do you like your library?" He smiled.

"How did you even know what books I was interested in?" I asked him.

"I worked with the crew at the bookstore. Every book you touched, I had them send here," he smiled.

"Every one?" I asked in awe.

"The others, they filled in by recommendation based on the ones you touched or bought," he smiled.

"You don't need to spend that kind of money on me," I spoke softly.

"I know I don't need to. I wanted to," he smiled.
