My name is Hana and I don't kill kids.

In the Bible, there was a girl named Hannah who prayed that she had a child and promised to God that her son will serve him. When God granted her prayers, she named him Samuel.

I too prayed to God. Everyday. But God plays favoritism.

I prayed to God to stop the men who was raping me when I was 12. Everyday it was a different one and If I don't do it, I go hungry and get a beating. No one came to rescue me.

I prayed to God that the drugs which was placed inside me don't spill when I enter the airport. I was 15 and pregnant but instead of taking care of me, the people whom I worked for used me as a drug mule. No one came to rescue me.

I prayed to God that my child be dead when I gave birth. I was trying to save him from a difficult life, but when I held him in my arms, and smiled at me the first time, I felt that something good in my life is about to happen so I prayed to God that we won't be separated but they took him away. I pleaded that I will work harder, but they said that babies cannot be raised there.

I prayed to God that the people who abused me be all dead. I prayed that their bodies be filled with bullet holes and that their organs be ripped apart. I prayed that they be skinned alive. But God didn't answer my prayer.

Hazeera did.

I was beaten up when I escaped dragging myself along the road, blood dripping from my stomach. I wanted to find my child and I'm sure that they left him at the front of a foster home. A classic movie opening.

I was lifeless. My legs are numb from walking and running. I prayed to God to send me to heaven that day. But he didn't.

I woke up in an unfamiliar place. I was taken care of for months and when I regained my energy, I made a deal with Hazeera. Hazeera promised that I can be with my son so long as I work for them. I didn't believe at first, but when they showed pictures of my son inside a foster home, I agreed.

I trained for months. I was skilled in combat and use of gun, but I prefer knife. My first mission is to prove my loyalty. Hazeera asked me to kill the organization who abused and sold me to be raped, but I didn't. I burned their hide-out and captured the people who ran the place. They were praying to God when they were aligned in front of Hazeera with their hands tied behind their back.

"God doesn't prayers." And I slit their throats one by one in front of Hazeera.

A month after, another mission was given and each mission I was rewarded with money and a chance to see my son from afar. He was growing up in a foster home with hand me downs but never did he ran away.

A mission after a mission, I killed men and women but never kids. Later on, I found out that the best weapon is manipulation. I perfected that skill and Hazeera praised me when I come back with outstanding results. All had been doing well until Jung fucked up our operations.

We lost billions because of him and our clients wanted Hazeera dead if we can't retrieve the information which Jung stole. He comitted suicide and wrote that he killed Mary Grace's daughter but I didn't buy his shit.

We know that he passed the code to either Minji and Jung Kook.

I watched them from afar and I could say that they are not the happy couple. I learned that Jung Kook doesn't want to see her when he left the Mayor's office without a bride. I laughed when I saw Jung Kook placed an aquarium with a snake inside in front of their house. I watched how Athena sneakily went out of their house dressed in corporate attire.

The hardest part of my job is the waiting game, but when it's done, it's satisfying to watch how the pieces fell together like a domino placed in front of each other. All you need is a push.

Jung Kook was stupid when he went out for a drink alone. That's where it all started. He was sitting at the bar drinking and I played the innocent preppy girl who is trying to forget an ex. His lips were sweet when he kissed me, I'll give him that. But he opened a can of worms when he led me to his house--the place he should have not let a stranger in.

I laid him on top of his bed and though he looks extremely hot, I resisted. A job needs to be done. I searched his entire house flipping all the pages in the book but couldn't find anything. I went down and saw the maid's quarter and recognized some of Minji's clothes. I saw Jung Kook's file among his things and read their contract. That is when I hatched the plan.

Hazeera sent me the edited photos and I switched them. That was the first domino. Next, I traced his keys into a paper and took pictures. Hazeera would know how to duplicate it. When he woke up, I acted the dumb, desperate, playful woman who asks him for help to bring an ex-boyfriend crawling back to my knees. The day kept getting on better when we picked Athena up. The girl looks sweet, the type that wouldn't hurt a fly. She goes by the name Minji. The way they steal glances at each other definitely tells that feelings are involved, the funny thing is that Jung Kook doesn't know that she is his wife.

When he dropped me off. I know he wouldn't contact me again. I pissed him off, after all.

I started reading books afterwards. Athena is a smart gal and I have to act like her. Everything that I read about her, I have to be. I need to be Athena.

I fucked the Mayor for a week. Gave him the best head and introduced him to positions that his old ass finds difficult, the Mayor couldn't have enough of me. After he was satisfied, I put a gun on his head and threatened him with sex tapes of us. My instructions were clear: if Jung Kook asked if I am the one he married, he has to say yes. Make him believe that I was his bride. He was crying with a boner when I left him.

The last domino was Atty. Choi's car. I messed his car so it would crash. It wasn't difficult. He looked at me before he closed his eyes. "You can never save them now."

He lived but in his state, he cannot speak for the truth. I received a text from Jung Kook that day that Atty. Choi met his "accident." That was the push that made all the dominoes fall right where I wanted them to be.

I knew that Jung Kook would hate me. And I don't care. I know that he is not expecting that it would be me.

He stormed out of the house and I know that he will.go to his love. I don't mind. He's gonna be calling me soon. I just have to wait.

Patience is a virtue, after all.

*****
Minji is taking a shower while Jung Kook is on the bed. The guards at the building reviewed the CCTV footage but for some reason, the event earlier has not been recorded.

"Sir, we had a system upgrade earlier." The manager told him. When they looked at the name of the programmer it was signed, "Hazeera"

Jung Kook left out a deep sigh. Hana's words echoed once again on his head. A pair of arms hugged her as if it was trying to pull him out of his own thoughts. Minji's embrace was peaceful.

"Don't stress about it. I'm fine now." Minji kissed his neck.

"I'm sorry about date night." He kissed her back.

"Pizza is still an option. That's still Italian." She chuckled. His heart leap seeing her smile. She really has a way of making him alright.

"Fine. But no more delivery this time." He called security and asked if someone can buy them food. He apologized for asking and just said that his girlfriend hasn't eaten yet and couldn't leave her all alone. He was glad that they agreed and the manager was apologetic and appreciative that the incident will not be reported to the owners.

"Uhmm.. I heard on the news that Hazeera are bad people. You might want to check any transactions with them." Jung Kook warned them.

Their food arrived in 30 minutes and Minji's eyes were in awe seeing how many Jung Kook ordered.

"Babe, is this my last supper?" She jokingly asked when she sat on the couch. Jung Kook placed two large pizzas on the center table; one pepperoni and one four cheese along with a tub of chocolate ice cream and two boxes of spicy chicken wings. Her mouth almost watered when she smelled the box of freshly baked potato mojos after Jung Kook opened it.

She sat on her lap and kissed his cheek. "You made me happy."

He ran his thumb across her lip and giggled. "It's just food, babe." He kissed her lips. "Sorry about earlier."

She hugged him. "Not your fault." She kissed his neck and Jung Kook's neck jerked a little.

"Babe, let's eat now or I won't be able to control myself." She went back to her seat and Jung Kook gave her a plate with pizza. "Hot sauce?"

"Yes, please" She smilingly asked.

"What movie would you like to watch?" He asked while getting a slice for himself. He sucked his thumb of the pizza sauce.

"Uhmm...I wanna binge watch the Twilight Saga."

Jung Kook laughed. "What are you? 15?"

She hit his lap and rolled her eyes before he took a bite from her pizza. "Then you should have not asked me then!"

He leaned forward for a kiss. "I'm just kidding. But If I see you drooling over Edward Cullen we'll stop watching."

"Don't worry. I'm Team Jacob."

Jung Kook played the movie on his phone while Minji leaned on Jung Kook's arms, her right leg laying on the couch. Jung Kook would kiss her neck from time to time, his thoughts occupied about Minji's safety. He was trying hard not to show Minji that he's affected and the last thing he would want right now is talk to Hana for a clarification.

"Once she moves in, she'll be safe." He told himself.

Minji stood and walked to the fridge to get two cans of coke. She handed him one after she opened it. She went back to her position and Jung Kook placed another slice of pizza on her plate and added chicken wings into it. She sat straight, her back against the couch and eat the food that he had given her, hed eyes not leaving the screen. Jung Kook enjoys seeing her like that...like nothing can harm her.

Almost half-way on the movie, a text notification appeared on the screen: "I know you're mad at me but please can you tell me you're safe."

Jung Kook did not save her as a contact but he's sure it's Hana. He hurriedly grabbed his phone from the table and blocked her number. He saw Minji looking down but still eating her food.

"Babe...it's nothing. She knew what happened to Uncle Cris. She was at the hospital too." He lied.

She turned her head to look at her and smiled bitterly. It's not difficult to see that she was hurt. He took her plate, put it on top of the table and pulled her in for an embrace. "It's only you. I promise." She returned the embrace with a kiss.

"Sorry..." She raked his hair. "I'm so happy right now that it's frightening to know that this might end."

His embrace became tighter. "Me too"

Minji was asleep when Jung Kook stepped out of the bedroom to unblock Hana's number and call her. She picked up after it rang thrice.

"Hi...Jung Kook. I'm glad--y..you're safe." She was sobbing.

"Meet me tomorrow. I'll give you the details." He tried to sound stern but hearing her sob softened him. "P--please stop...crying."

"O..okay.." but He can still hear her cries.

Jung Kook ended the call but on the other end, Hana's smirk is still plastered on her face.

***

Minji woke up without Jung Kook on the bed so she went outside, thinking that he's on the kitchen but found it to be empty as well. She read the note on the fridge saying that he needs to go back to the hospital. Minji doesn't feel good about this. She was torn between believing him and her assumption from last night's text.

She went back to the bedroom and called him but there was no answer. After a few minutes, he recieved a text message from him:

Jung Kook:
Still at the hospital, babe

Minji:
Okay, How's your uncle?

Jung Kook:
Same

Minji:
I'm sorry, babe.

Jung Kook:
It's hard to see him like this...anyway, don' wait for me. I might go to the office late.

Minji:
Okay..Take care. I miss you already

Minji went for a shower still thinking if Jung Kook is telling the truth. She scolded herself for thinking bad things about him considering that she had not been honest too. After preparing for the day, she booked a taxi to the office.

She was texting him all day but he is not responding. She called him twice during her morning break but there was no answer. She is already worried and would like to take the day off but she knows that Jung Kook wouldn't agree to it.

She cannot concentrate on her tasks. Her project board is piling up but she barely noticed.

"Editor's block?" She almost jumped out of her seat when Jimin came to her.

"I'm sorry..."

"You look off today.." Jimin commented. Minji would like to say more but when he saw Jung Kook walked inside she felt relieved.

"I'll focus, sir. I'm sorry."

"No harm done. I need the edited article for the website before lunch." He smiled and walked back to his office.

Minji began to read the files on her desk when he received a text from Jung Kook.

"Sorry If I worry you."

She did not reply anymore as she also needs to get her work done, besides seeing him has already made her heart at ease.

She managed to finish her work for the day right on time. Jimin asked her to work with a scriptwriter for a commercial and she gladly accepted it.

She was fixing her things, ready to home when he saw Jung Kook walked out from his office without even looking at her. She was worried again.

****

Minji tried to call Jung Kook before she went asleep but there's no answer still.

Jung Kook:
Sorry, was in the shower

Minji:
How are you?

Jung Kook:
Fine, you?

Minji:
You sure? You seemed off.
You haven't replied to my texts

Jung Kook:
I can't always reply to you

Jung Kook:
Can you please be understanding?

Minji:
You're right.
Sorry babe

Minji waited for at least 30 minutes more for his reply but when there is none she decided to sleep in tears.

***

Jung Kook was on his couch, his eyes almost wet. Hana placed a glass of water on the center table.

"Drink" He took the water and gulped it at once. Hana sat beside him. "You're doing the right thing, Jung Kook."

He did not respond. He met her this morning to ask about Hazeera and she told him about his father's connections with the drug cartel. He really didn't care but what worried him most is a picture shown by Hana.

"He was my ex-boyfriend. I contacted him and told him I was alive..and he was supposed to go here, be with me and I was planning to file a divorce sooner..." Tears rolled from her eyes when she started telling their story. A lean man with his head blown off was in the picture.

"Police ruled it out as suicide...his fingerprints were on the gun as well as a suicide letter...but he can't fire a gun...His sister died when she went hunting during Moose season with her friends..so he promised his self he will never touch a gun." She covered herself while crying.

Jung Kook was left in shock looking at the picture thinking that it could be Minji. Hana eventually convinced her not to contact Minji for the meantime.

"We have to show Hazeera that we are together. They will leave her alone."

The thought of not being with her killed Jung Kook on the inside already. But he would rather stay away from her than to see her lifeless.

"It's not going to be for long, Jung Kook...Atty. Choi put us under care. It's gonna take Hazeera a while before they can touch us..."She tapped his shoulder and this time he just let her. "If Minji claims that he loves you, she's gonna want to have you back."

*****

Days passed and Minji finds it everyday to contact Jung Kook. He stopped responding to her messages and his phone can no longer be reached. When they are in the office, he will just do his job but not look at her, unlike before. Minji's heart shattered seeing him avoiding her, worse, she doesn't know the reason why.

She would like to confront him and askes him what's going on but she doesn't have the guts to do it in the office.

When weekend finally came, she went to his apartment and knocked on it but to her surprise it was Hana, in lingerie silky robe, who opened the door.

"Hi! Minji, right?"

She lowered her head but couldn's stop staring at the hickeys on her neck. Hana lowered her hair to cover them but she was too late, Minji's heart had already been broken.

"Sorry...uhm.. we were...I just got back from a trip and...he was like..an animal last night." She was biting her lip and smiling.

"Hold on for a second. I have what you came here for."

Minji was confused when Hana handed her a bag. "Jung Kook told me that you switched bags with you when you visited the beach for a few days together with the team."

"Ahhh..yes.."She was almost to tears.

"Would you like me to wake him up?"

"There's no need...I--I'm just here for my bag." She bowed and her tears fell on the floor. "Thank you."

Minji walked away while in tears while Hana looks at her back slowly disappear with a smile on her face.

***

"Minji is on her way to the apartment.."

This was the text that she received from Hazeera. Thankfully, Jung Kook was out to visit Atty. Choi. She moved fast and changed her clothes to lingerie. She then placed make up on her neck to create visible hickeys.

Hana saw her hurt when Minji glanced at her neck. She was broken when she gave her the bag containing her things.

"Playtime's over, Athena." She told herself. She knew she will be arriving and she prepared for her.

Hana went back inside the bedroom to change. She texted Hazeera back.

"She's broken now." Hazeera did not take time to reply.

"Not enough. We need to see her bleed."

"She's gonna be bleeding real soon."

Hana knows what to do next. But just like always, she needs to wait. Patience is a virtue.
