I stayed the night at Robins house again, but I couldn't sleep. I couldn't stop thinking of my dad. Every time I would close my eyes, I would feel the need to open them again. I would think that my dad would be standing at the window, ready to kill me when he got the chance.

I eventually forced myself to sleep but not until super late. I woke up in Robins arms and rubbed my eyes. I didn't sleep well at all.

"Are you having nightmares again Lina?" He asked. I nodded and got out of bed. Usually my nightmares would consist of me playing with my sister at our old house, everything seemed great until my dad opened the door and started beating us. He would take my sister away and kill her, then he came back and killed my mom.

He left me for last so I could watch my family die. I always woke up before he had the chance to kill me. I got ready for the day and walked back into Robin's room. He was standing in front of a mirror holding his bandanna. He turned around to look at me with his bandanna laying in his hands.

"Will you help?" He asked quietly. I smiled and walked over to him. His bandanna wasn't even folded yet.

"My dad gave that one to me. He said it made him feel brave when he was a kid, so now it'll make me feel brave. That way, I can help you if anything happens."

"I'll be okay Robin. I have to go back eventually. But you know you're already the bravest person I know." I said. I finished folding his bandanna and looked up at him.

"Really? I think you're the bravest person I know." He smiled at me and turned around. I stood on my tiptoes so I could manage to wrap the bandanna around his head. I tied it in the back and adjusted his hair so it wouldn't get caught. I wrapped my arms around his and rested my head on his shoulder.

We both looked in the mirror at each other. He turned to look at me and kissed me quickly.

"Before you leave, I have to go to the store, but you need to stay here. I'm gonna get you something." He said. I looked at him confused.

"Get me what?" I asked. He shrugged and started walking out of the room. I scoffed and sat down on the bed, waiting for Robin to get back home.

We looked at each other in the mirror. God she's so beautiful. I caught a glimpse of a flower sitting on my desk behind her. It looked old and dry. It was dead.

"Before you leave, I have to go to the store, but you need to stay here. I'm gonna get you something."

"Get me what?" I shrugged and walked out of the room.

"I'll be back Tio Marco!" I yelled. I grabbed some spare money off the counter and walked out the door. I walked all the way down to the market and into the flower aisle.

There were so many choices. I still wasn't sure what her favorite flower was. Every time I get her flowers, I get her a different kind so I can see how she reacts to each one. She seemed to really like the orchids I got her so maybe I'd get those again. Plus they seemed to last the longest.

I always keep one flower out of the bunch and keep it in some water in my room. When it does, I know it's time to get her more.

I grabbed the orchids and walked up to the counter.

"This all for you today?" The lady asked.

"Uh yeah." I handed her my money and she started sorting it out.

"Who's the special lady?" She asked with a smirk.

"My girlfriend. She's just having a rough time, I figured she'd want more flowers." I said. She smiled and nodded. She handed me my change and I grabbed the flowers. I shoved the coins in my pocket and walked out of the market.

I was trying my best not to take too long or Alina would get curious. I also didn't want her to leave without me going with her.

I walked back home as fast as I could. I opened the door and walked inside. Her shoes were still here so she hadn't left yet.

Perfect.

I walked back to my room and opened the door. She was sitting on the bed, patiently waiting for me to get back. I showed her the flowers and her face lit up. I hadn't seen her smile recently. Really genuinely smile. It made me feel so proud that I could make her happy at a time like this.

She stood up and I handed her the flowers. She smelled them and then smiled at me. She set them down on the bed and hugged me tightly.

"So you like em?" I asked.

"I love them. You're the best boyfriend ever." She said back. I like the sound of that. Boyfriend.

Alina's boyfriend.
