After lunch, we all went our separate ways. The rest of the day was long and boring. I hated school. I only liked school so I could see Robin, Finn and Gwenny. After class I went into the bathroom before the walk home. I wanted to make sure I looked presentable for Robin. I walked in and set my backpack down on the floor.

I walked over to the sink and turned on the water to wash my hands. As I grabbed some paper towels to dry my hands, the bathroom door opened and three girls walked in. I looked in the mirror so I didn't have to turn around. I could see the three girls stand behind me with their arms crossed. Melissa, Jessica and Amy. I didn't say anything, hoping I could avoid the trouble.

"In case you didn't notice, this is a girl's bathroom. Not a beaner's bathroom." Melissa said. Melissa was definitely the dominant in their friendship. She was always standing in between Jessica and Amy, plus she hardly let them speak.

"Fuck you." I whispered under my breath. I threw the paper towels away in the trash can which was right next to the sink. Melissa walked closer to me angrily but it stayed facing the mirror.

"What did you say?"

"Fuck. You." I said louder. She grabbed the back of my shirt and yanked me back. She had pushed me into a stall door but luckily it was closed and locked so I didn't fall. She towered over me and I glared up at her.

"Don't think you have some authority because your new boy toy beat Moose." He said.

"Robin has nothing to do with this."

"No. But you're gonna run home and cry so Robin can make it a big deal."

"Stop talking about Robin." I said.

"Then get out of our fucking town." She pulled out a pocket knife and opened it up. Jessica and Amy held me back so I couldn't move. I knew Melissa wouldn't actually do anything. She just wanted to scare me.

"Piss me off again and I'll fucking kill you."

"Do it." She turned to my upper arm and started cutting. I guess I was wrong. Jessica held her hand over my mouth as I screamed in pain. I could feel my own blood dripping down my arm.

"Melissa.."

"Shut up Amy!" Melissa finished cutting into me and then let me go. Jessica and Amy let go of me too and they all walked out of the bathroom laughing, leaving the scene bloody. I moved over in front of the mirror to see what Melissa had done but I couldn't tell. It was too bloody for me to read.

"Fuck." I whispered to myself. I grabbed some more paper towels and tried my best to stop the bleeding. I was able to make it slow down but it was still bleeding pretty bad. I had no choice but to just leave. Robin was still waiting for me. I stormed out of the bathroom and across the street where Robin was waiting.

I walked right past him.

"Hey! Alina!" Robin yelled. He ran after me and caught up to me.

"What's goin on?" He asked. I didn't hide the fact that I was pissed off.

"Nothing." I stomped the whole way home and stormed inside my house. I ran into the bathroom and slammed the door shut, locking it behind me. I looked in the mirror at the cuts and I could feel tears welling up in my eyes. I wasn't sad. I was angry. I have a bad habit of crying when I'm angry and I hate it. Momma said it makes me weak.

"Alina stop!" She ran inside her house but left the front door open. I hesitated but ran inside after her. She was really upset but wouldn't tel me why.

"Alina!" She had slammed the bathroom door closed. I ran up to it and tried to open the door but it was locked. I sighed and stood outside the door. The bedroom door next to me opened and a lady walked out. This must be her mom. What a bad first impression of me.

"Who are you." She asked. She looked tired and drunk.

"Robin Arellano. I'm sorry to barge in. I'm here for Alina." I said, trying to explain myself. She rolled her eyes and walked past me into the living room.

"Where is she?"She asked. I pointed to the bathroom door as if it wasn't obvious.

"Ah. She's just being dramatic. She's always fussin about something." She sat down on the couch and picked up a half empty beer bottle from the coffee table next to her. I turned my attention back to the bathroom door and quietly knocked.

"Lina. Let me in."

"No."

"Why not? Just tell me what's wrong."

She didn't answer. I could see her shadow against the door. She was sitting down. I sat down against the door too and kept trying my best to make her open the damn door.

"I said we'd figure this out together, that goes for everything. Not just love." After a moment or two, I could hear the click of the lock. I stood up quickly and turned the handle. The door opened and Alina was sitting on the floor. I could see blood on the floor and in the sink. I looked down at her and saw blood on her arm.

I walked in and closed the door behind me. I figured her mom wouldn't be too happy about the mess. I crouched down next to her and pulled her to stand up. I wet down a small towel and turned so I could clean the blood off her arm. She pulled away from me quickly.

"It'll get infected. Just let me help." I reached out to clean her arm but she didn't resist this time. She winced. I was eventually able to clean it enough the see letters carved into her skin.

"What the hell." I whispered to myself. I turned her to the side so I could see it better.

'beaner'

I could feel myself fill with rage.

"Who did this to you?" I asked angrily. She crossed her arms and leaned against the wall.

"Melissa." She said quietly. Fuck. It made me even more angry that there was nothing I could do about it. I looked at the sink to see a bandage wrap sitting on the counter. I grabbed it and started wrapped Alina's upper arm.

"You ๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ท๐˜ฆ to stand up for yourself Lina."
