Dominic insisted on wheeling me to the car in a wheelchair. I didn't put up a fight for two reasons, one I didn't want to get into a fight with him about it, and two it was a further walk to his car than I had been doing when I did laps around the ward I was in. Dominic helped me into his sports car, buckling me in himself, before placing a kiss on my temple and shutting the door.

My eyes stayed trained on him as he walked the wheelchair back towards the hospital, he entered the building for ten seconds as he returned it to an orderly before coming back out again.

Dominic looked tired, under his eyes had large dark circles and his facial hair was unkempt. I know Dominic hadn't been sleeping much since I arrived at the hospital earlier in the week, he refuses to leave my side unless it's absolutely dire, he's been sleeping in the reclining chair next to my bed but I can only imagine how uncomfortable that would be especially for a man of his size.

His green eyes fixed on mine when he grew nearer to the car. A smile danced on his lips.

I returned the smile.

Dominic climbed into his car, pulling on his seatbelt and starting the engine. He turned his head to look at me. "Ready?"

I nod. "So very ready." I felt cooped up being in there, being stuck in that hospital. It was driving me insane.

"Anywhere you need to go before home?" He raised his hand and reached out to caress my cheek.

I took a minute to think and eventually shook my head. "Just take me home. I'm a little tired." It wasn't a complete lie, I was a little tired, but I was also hoping Dominic would join me in bed and actually rest properly himself.

Dominic gave me a sympathetic smile, the main type of smile I've been getting from him all week. "Of course, princess." He spoke softly. Leaning forward he brushed his lips against mine so feather light and briefly I wasn't fully sure he'd done it. Dominic pulled his touch away from me entirely, all too soon.

I'd been at a hospital in Kingston, meaning we had to drive all the way back to Manhattan which took us a little over an hour and a half. I had begun to doze off a couple times, but refused to fully allow myself as I wanted to keep my attention on Dominic.

My head rested sideways against the headrest as I looked lazily over at Dominic. My eyes are scanning his features. His bushed eyebrows knitted together as he was lost deep in thought. His sea green eyes sparkling from the rays of sun that poured into the car from the front windscreen. The dark circles under his eyes from lack of sleep. The slight crook in his nose I'd never noticed before that told me his nose had been broken a couple times at least. Those plump, soft lips of his that sat in a straight line on his face. And that messy beard of his he'd been growing, I can't say that I don't find his facial hair attractive because boy does it do something to me.

"What are you thinking about?" I ask, my voice barely above a whisper.

Dominic's face relaxes and his head turns towards me. His eyes search my face quickly before he returns his attention back to the road. "I was thinking about your accident." He confesses to me after a silent minute. "It's all I've been able to think about since."

I look around our surroundings. "Can you pull over?"

"Are you going to be sick?" Panic floods his voice and face. He glances between me and the road as he searches for somewhere to pull over.

"No no no." I quickly reassured him. "Just please."

He gives a confused look as he nods. A minute later Dominic is pulling over on the side of the road somewhere in New Jersey. He puts on the hand break and turns to me. "What's the matter?" Worry is laced into his serious tone.

"Dominic." I breathe out. I unclip myself to swivel better in my seat, which earns a protest-filled groan from Dominic. I reach out and clutch his face between both my hands. "Look at me." I instruct firmly as his eyes are now fixed on my sternum where my bandage is hidden beneath his shirt I wore.

Dominic hesitates, his green eyes staying on my chest another ten seconds before they trail up to meet mine. I can see the pain behind his eyes.

"Do you feel this?" I ask, stroking his cheek. "Do you feel the warmth of my touch?" He nods. "And you can hear my voice right in front of you?" He nods again but confusion fills his face even more now. "I know that me getting shot scared you, that's understandable." I tell him softly. "But I'm here, I'm safe and I'm ok. I'm here with you."

Dominic's adams apple bobs up and down. He nods slowly. "I know. It just..."

"Keeps replaying?" I ask and he nods solemnly. "I get it. But you need to focus on me here and now, safe, happy, healthy." I pause briefly before dropping my voice to a whisper. "Alive."

Silence encompasses us for several minutes as we just stare at each other, both our breaths becoming deeper and heavier. My body feels like it's a million degrees as I hold his face, his touch burning me from the inside.

"Eloise." Dominic breathed out my name, his voice filled with lust and longing.

My eyes fluttered softly as his tone sent heat straight to my core. I lent over the middle console and pressed my lips to his.

Dominic groaned against me as his lips moved and moulded against mine. After a minute he raises his hands to grab mine and pulls them off my face before gently guiding me back into my seat properly. "Eloise." He mumbles under his breath. "You're making things very hard for me right now." He grumbles.

"What do you mean?"

Dominic's eyes are fixed on my lips with wanting before he meets my eyes and sighs. "You need to be taking it easy, resting. And yet when you kiss me like that, when you comfort me, all I want to do is take you here in the car not caring who catches us." He shakes his head as if still trying to convince himself it's a bad idea. His head dips down and he looks at his crotch where a tent is pitched in his trousers.

I smirk at him when he looks back up at me. "I make things very hard for you indeed." I say cockily. "I want you..."

"We can't Eloise." He sighs. "You're recovering from major surgery." Dominic feels the need to remind me, as if the pain in my chest from the wearing off medicine isn't proof enough to me. "We can't do anything like that for at least six weeks, Eloise, you heard the doctor."

"Dominic." I begin. "We don't have to have sex, there are other things than having sex which will have the same if not similar effects."

Dominic looks at me confused for a second before realisation seems to hit. "You're not doing that either." He shakes his head at me. "Buckle yourself back up, we need to get going."

I relent to him. Without another word I turn myself back around in my seat to face the front before pulling on my seatbelt, wincing slightly from doing it too fast in my huff.

"Princess." Dominic whispers, reaching his hand over to grab my hand. "Don't be mad with me, I'm just trying to help you recover without complications.

"I know." I couldn't blame this on him. I knew the rules for my recovery. But how am I supposed to last another five weeks without being active with this sex on a stick man of mine.

"Look at me." Dominic cups my chin and pulls it to face him. His lips kiss mine feverishly for a short minute. "I will make it up to you when I can." He promises. "Six weeks worth of being pent up, it'll all be worth it. I promise, princess." He kisses me again. "You just have to be a good girl for me, can you be a good girl for me?"

I flush and nod, biting down on my bottom lip.

"Say it." He commands, igniting a fire in my core.

My flush is now searing. "I can be your good girl."
