Skylar's POV

It was Wednesday today. A few days ago I called my parents and told them about Ace. They asked me so many questions and my mum wants me to take him with me when I go to my mum's birthday. I don't know if he has time or if he simply wants to, but I decided that I will ask him about it later.

I just finished my classes and was heading towards the entrance. Snow was falling from the sky and it looked wonderful. When I went outside, I saw Ace's car parked in front of my uni and him, leaning against it. He was wearing is black suit and a white shirt.

Damn

When he noticed me, on his face appeared this beautiful smile which makes my knees weak every time I see it, and I couldn't help but smile at him too.

"Hi, what are you doing here?" I asked when I came up to him.

He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me in a kiss, melting my heart completely.

"I wanted to see my gorgeous girlfriend." He said with his cocky smile and I blushed a bit. "How were your classes?"

"Uhm quite interesting. I didn't have any boring lectures today." I said truthfully.

"That's good." He looked to the right briefly and looked back at me. He seemed like he wanted to say something. I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Something's wrong?" I asked

"I uhm, I visited Andy yesterday." He replied and on his face appeared a small smile.

I smiled at him and wrapped my arms around his neck.

"That's great, Ace. He must have been really happy?"

"Yeah, he was. He was asking why I left him all the time though. I had to make up some stupid excuse." His smile dropped a little.

"Hey, it's not your fault. Everyone gets lost sometimes." I put my hand on his cheek and rubbed it with my thumb.

He lifted up his head and looked at me. He was gazing at my eyes and I was doing exactly the same thing.

"You have such beautiful eyes, Ace." I said quietly. His lips tugged in the corners.

"I like yours more." He grinned. "Actually, I'm visiting Andy today and I was wondering if you wanted to come...with me." He looked a little hesitant like he was afraid that I was going to say 'no'.

I can tell that it is new to him and I can see that he is trying to change. For me. As he promised. Opening up to people or showing them his vulnerbility isn't something he does, nor he wants to do. Acting like a damn king who is not afraid of anything and acting like you don't care about anything in the world, can give you some kind of power. People don't know your weaknesses and less of them can hurt you. They have respect for you which Ace values so much.

I nodded my head eagerly and said "I'd love to." He sent me his huge grin and kissed my lips softly.

"Let's go then." He opened the door of his car for me and let me in.

In the car we were talking about some random stuff. Ace put his hand on my thigh and it stayed like that until we arrived. The house looked like a freaking mansion. It was huge and white. We got out of the car and I was just staring at it with my eyes wide open. Ace grabbed my hand and said

"Come on."

We started walking and I admired our surrounding. There was a big garden and I could imagine how incredible it looks in summer when the grass and trees are green and there are plenty of colourful flowers everywhere. We reached the door and Ace knocked.

I know, right? He knocked

We waited a few seconds and suddenly the door flew open revealing a very elegant woman.

She had brown, not that long hair, she was thin and was wearing black dungarees.

"I thought you said that you wouldn't be at home. " Ace stated with a sigh of irritation.

"Plans can change, Ace. And it's nice to see you too, son."

Son? After that, I indeed could see the similarity between him and her.

"Whatever." Ace mumbled and walked past her, still holding my hand. "Andy!" He called out.

Ace's mum came up to me and extended her hand for me to shake.

"Hi, I'm Sara. Ace's mum." She said with a big smile on her face, and I returned it.

"Hi, it's nice to meet you. I'm Skylar."

"Such a beautiful name."

I mumbled small 'thank you' and tucked my hair behind my ear. She wasn't as I expected her to be. I imagined her as a cold-hearted and unpleasant woman who cheated on her husband and didn't care about Ace, but it wasn't true.

"So, I'm assuming that you two are together?" Sara said with a slight nervousness in her voice.

"No one asked for your assumptions." Ace groaned.

"Ace, please. Maybe you will stay for dinner?"

"No. I'll get Andy and we'll go." He stated and I could see a sad expression on Sara's face.

"Ace!"

We all turned towards the source of that voice and I saw a cute boy running towards us. He looked like a smaller version of Ace but his hair was curly.

Ace let go of my hand and walked towards him. He grabbed him and lifted him up.

"How are you, buddy?"

Andy was giggling and Ace smiled at him. I ain't gonna lie, the sight of Ace with a child was heart-warming. He will be an amazing dad one day.

"Great. What are we going to do today?"

While they were talking, Sara came closer to me and put her hand on my arm. I turned my head to the left to look at her.

"It was you who convinced him to go back to Andy's life, wasn't it?" She asked with a weak smile. I could tell that it meant a lot to her. And Andy.

"I wouldn't say convinced. I just told him that it wasn't fair that he left him like that and we talked about it a bit and he decided himself to come back."

She was looking at me with a genuine smile and I think her eyes became glossy.

"Don't think of me as some kind of heartless person, Skylar." She looked down at her hands and continued. "We weren't meant to be together with Ace's dad but I cared about him and I still hate myself for what I did to him."

Suddenly, there was silence in the room and we both looked at Ace who was standing with Andy in his arms and looking at his mum with the look that could kill.

"You should feel sorry. You did this to him." He came closer to her and added "It's your fault that he's dead."

More tears started falling down her cheeks. Ace grabbed my hand and we walked outside. I faced Sara one more time and waved to her and she gave me a weak smile which I quickly returned.

When we were in his car, I was looking out the window and thinking. I felt sorry for her. Ace shouldn't have said all those things to her. She didn't deserve that. No one does.

I know she made a mistake. The mistake which might have been a reason why Ace's dad committed a suicide. However, as Sara said, some people are simply not meant to be together. The world is cruel. The fact that you love someone, doesn't mean that they will reciprocate our feelings.

We stopped near the playground because although it was all covered in snow, Andy wanted to build a snowman there. I really like him, he's such a sweetheart. I didn't talk much though and I think Ace noticed that.

I felt his hand grab mine but I didn't look at him. He sighed.

"She always destroys every fucking moment."

My head shot up at him with my lips formed in a thin line and said

"First of all, language. Your five-year-old brother is standing next to you. And second of all, she didn't destroy anything, Ace. You did. You shouldn't have treated her like that." I was getting a little angry now. I don't like when people treat other people like shit.

"Okay, I'm sorry"

"It's not me who you should apologise to."

"I'm not apologising to her." He stated angirly.

"People make mistakes, Ace. May-"

"But she made a mistake that made my dad kill himself! It wasn't just a mistake! She ruined his life and mine as well! She is selfish bitch who doesn't care about anyone but herfuckingself!"

He was glaring down at me and I could see a fury in his eyes. I looked at Andy and he seemed a little scared. I came up to him and took him in my arms.

"Let's build another snowman, hm?" I smiled at him warmly and looked at Ace briefly. "Ace will join us when he calms down." My voice trembled a bit and I think Ace noticed. He knows that I hate being yelled at.

I had so much fun with Andy. We bulit an enormous snowman and it was great to see him laughing. I was glancing at Ace a few times from the corner of my eye and I could see him pacing around and saying some things under his nose. I was still angry at him, or more...hurt, but I couldn't help but smile a bit. He can be so grumpy sometimes, especially when something doesn't go his way.

After a while, Andy was trying to build a dog and I was just standing and watching him. Suddenly, I felt a pair of strong arms wrapped around my waist. Ace nuzzled his head into my neck and placed a soft kiss on it.

"I'm sorry, baby." He mumbled.

"I know." I whispered.

He wanted to turn me around but I tried to fight it back. I didn't want to look at him. He sighed and turned me around eventually but my eyes were still on Andy. He grabbed my face with his hands and now we were looking at each other.

"I'm really sorry."

"I know Ace, you've already said that." I raised my voice a bit.

I sighed and closed my eyes for a few seconds. When I opened them again I said

"Sorry, I just...don't like when people are shouting at me and you know that." He looked guilty, his eyes softened. "And how can you ask for respect when you don't have respect towards anyone?"

"I have respect towards you." He muttered with a slight smile.

I shook my head and wanted to free myself from his embrace but he pulled me even closer.

"I know that you're angry, Ace. I really get it but you can't act like that. You have to understand that people have feelings and you can't treat them like shit. I know it's not nice because...I've been treated like that so many times in my life." My voice was shaky and I lowered my head but Ace lifted it up.

"I want to kill everyone who fucking hurt you or even made you upset." We were so close that our noses were touching.

"Ace" I whispered

"Hm?" He looked me in my eyes.

"She's been through enough. This burden will never be lifted off her shoulders and she is probably going to blame herself for your dad's death for the rest of her life-"

His jaw clunched but he kept listening anyway. I cupped his face and said softly

"She misses you. You two can't be mad at each other forever. I'm not telling you to go back to normal, forget about everything and pretend that nothing has ever happened but just...be nicer to her. Do it not only for her or yourself but for me. Please."

He was gazing at me with some sort of admiration? He ran his thumb over my lip and leaned forward.

"You're too pure to be in this fucked up world."

"But we are in this fucked up world together." I whispered.

He smiled a little and slowly leaned in to connect our lips together. Everytime he is kissing me, I feel like my body is on fire. His soft lips were moving against mine and our tongues were dancing together. He bit gently on my lip and I let out a slight moan. Snowflakes were falling on our faces from the Sky and I felt like in some kind of film.

Suddenly, I felt small arms wrapped around my leg and I pulled away from our kiss. Ace looked a little confused but when he saw where I was looking, his expression softened.

He crouched and looked at Andy who was hiding behind my leg.

"I'm sorry, buddy. I didn't mean to shout. I just got angry and...lost it. It won't happen again." He said softly.

"Promise?"

"Promise. Come here." He streched out his hands signaling Andy to hug him and he did that. "Let's go home. It's getting dark and mum is probably worried."

"Noo, I want to stayy." Andy pouted but Ace explained to him that we had to go and that we would meet again soon. He told him to go to the car and he started running towards it.

Ace wrapped his arms around my waist again and kissed me.

"Thank you."

"For what?" I chuckled and he was staring into my eyes for a second.

"For everything."

I smiled at him and pecked his delicious lips. But then I remembered something.

"I uhm actually, my mum's birthday is at this weekend and I'm going home to my parents. And...my mum wanted me to ask you if you wants to come?"

On his face appeared a huge grin

"What?" I giggled

"You told your parents about me?"

"Uhm yeah? So you're coming or not?" I crossed my arms pretending that I was annoyed.

He kissed me one more time and said

"God, I love you." I'm still not used to hearing him saying that "If you want me to come, then I'll come."

"Okay" I said and smiled at him

We got in the car and we drove off. I must have fallen asleep because I woke up when I felt someone putting me on something which then turned out to be my bed. I opened my eyes wider and saw Ace.

"Shh, go back to sleep. I'll take off your sweatshirt and trousers, okay?"

"Mhm" I mumbled and went back to sleep. I was so tired after this day.

Ace took my clothes off and covered me with a duvet. I managed to grab his hand when he wanted to leave the room.

"Will you stay?"

"I can't, I have to get up early to work and I don't have my suit and documents here."

"Stay, please. You'll get your suit tomorrow before work." I muttered and looked at him with my pleading, barely open eyes.

He smiled a bit and started undressing. When he was only in his boxer briefs, he slid under the covers and pulled me closer to him. I put my head on his tattooed, muscular chest, and he wrapped his arm around my waist.

I never liked too much touching or hugs but with Ace...I could stay in his embrace forever.

"You're always so warm." I mumbled against his chest and he chuckled, making his body to shake slightly.

"Good night" I yawned.

"Good night, amore." He kissed my forehead.

I was so exhausted that I dozed off almost immediately, but not before Ace said his last words.

"I love you."
