'I think perhaps love comes from finding someone you feel utterly comfortable with, someone who makes you comfortable with yourself. Its like finding yourself, or maybe its like finding the other part of yourself.'

We just sat there, looking into each others eyes.

No words needed to be said, it was like we could read each other so perfectly. Our faces were getting closer together and his intoxicating smell and piercing eyes was all I could focus on. I could feel his warm breath fanning against my lips and his hands were placed securely around my waist.

Until his phone rang.

"Merda. Mi scusi, amore mio (Shit. Excuse me, my love)", he said, carefully placing me back on the sofa and standing up.

He took his phone out of his pocket and looked as if he was angry at the person who was calling him, before answering and putting the phone to his ear.

What would have happened if he didnt get that call?

I couldn't even think about it without blushing.

Was I even ready for that? Whatever that was?

"Ciao", he said, looking back at me and flashing me a smile.

He stood there whilst listening to the person on the other end of the call speak, trying to think of what to reply.

"Sì, you can come over tonight. I'll send you the address", he said, ending the call and taking his placed on the sofa next to me.

The silence returned and he must have sensed my anxiousness, so he placed his hand on the sofa next to mine.

My hand slowly gravitated towards his and before I knew it, my hand was back where it belonged.

In his.

"I-I don't t-think I'm ready to meet h-him yet", I whispered, looking down at our intertwined hands.

"Va bene (That's ok)", he whispered back, placing a chaste kiss on the back of my hand.

Butterflies erupted in my stomach and I gave his hand a gentle squeeze of appreciation.

"It's only half four, do you want to do something before dinner?", he asked.

"C-Can we go to t-the orphanage, please", I asked him shyly, wanting to see all the children again.

"Cert oche possiamo, amore (of course we can, love)", he replied with a beautiful smile on his face.

After putting our coats and shoes on, we began the walk towards the orphanage.

I asked Luca if we could stop off at a shop to get some treats for them and it seemed as if he had the same idea as when I looked up, we were outside a sweet shop.

He had to hold my hand to stop me from excitedly running into the store and that instantly calmed me down.

My hand grew sweaty and I was hoping he wouldn't notice because I don't think my hand could cope without his in mine.

We quickly grabbed plenty of bags full of different sweets and chocolates and carried on our walk hand in hand.

I thought we have bought way too many bags full but he insisted, saying that they deserved it, and I couldn't agree more.

We finally reached and went inside, taking our coats and shoes off and placing the treat bags on the table.

"Zio Luci! Zio Luci!", the kids screamed excitedly whilst running up to him one by one and giving him a massive cuddle.

"Zia Lily!", Ava squealed, jumping into my arms and wrapping her small arms around me.

"I missed you!", she whispered, still hugging me. I coiled my arms around her and gave her a squeeze in return.

"I-I missed you too", I whispered back to her.

She unwrapped her arms from around me and sat opposite me on the floor.

"You missed me more though, right?", Luca said, and began ticking her until she had tears forming in her eyes from laughing too much.

"I missed both of you!", she said with a cheeky smile on her face.

"I think you just earnt yourself a bag of sweets", Luca said, reaching behind him and handing her a bag.

"Thank you Zia Lily and Zio Luca", she said, pulling us into a group hug before jumping up and joining the rest of her friends, leaving me and Luca just inches apart.

We were soon broken out of our trance and decided to get up and play with the children for a while before we headed back out and back to his house for dinner.

"I-It was so nice seeing all t-the children again", I said as we walked back.

"I love going to see them. I can't wait to have kids of my own one day", he replied back, making my heart sink.

I didn't want to dwell on it so we continued the rest of the walk in a comfortable silence.

"Why don't you get changed in some comfier clothes and I'll cook dinner for us?," he suggested as we entered the house. He began helping me to take my coat off before I answered.

"I can h-help you cook?", I offered, which almost automatically resulted in him shaking his head and pointing towards the stairs.

I gave him a smile of appreciation and headed up into my room, wondering what he meant by comfier clothes.

Looking through the clothes Sofia gave me, I put on a pair of leggings and an oversized hoodie which I found on the bed.

As soon as I put it on, I got hit with a smell I knew so familiarly. Going towards the mirror, I could see his initials sewn in the top left part of the hoodie and I subconsciously smiled.

Maybe it was the comfort of the hoodie or perhaps it was the comfort I felt around him that persuaded me to keep the hoodie on.

I sat down at the dresser and quickly tied my hair up into a ponytail, before putting on some lip balm and some fluffy socks on my bare feet. I then closed the door and went downstairs into the kitchen, but he wasn't there.

There was no food on the table and the light was switched off. Before I could panic, I heard him shout my name.

Following his voice, I found him in the living room and what I saw made my heart stop.
