The tutoring went kind of smooth yesterday. It's like both of us trying to concentrate on the books and notes to get our minds off the kiss that happened earlier. None of us brought that up and we never talked about that kiss, but I really thought we should talk about it.

It was awkward, but I admit, I had waited for that moment to come for a really long time, and now that I knew I was in love with him, the kiss seemed could answer my questions I had in my mind, but at the same time it also raised more questions.

I couldn't help but to think that what if he kissed me wasn't because he liked me the way I liked him, he kissed me because he was just being the 'playboy' side of him and that kiss actually meant nothing to him?

I knew I could be very suspicious about everything sometimes, but I felt like everyone in the hallway was looking at me and whispering behind my back, or was I just being oversensitive?

Most importantly, where was Shelley? From the moment I stepped into the school's hallway, I was searching for her, but I didn't feel someone put her arm around my shoulder, nor I could hear her talking to somebody, I couldn't even find the shadow of hers or a stray of her hair.

So, where was Shelley? Was she skipping school today? No, she wouldn't skip school unless she was very ill, and as far as I knew, she was healthier than a horse.

I went up to my locker trying to ignore everyone's gazes that made me really uncomfortable and nervous, they made me forget my combinations for my locker and I had to try two more times before I successfully opened it.

I felt like they were still looking at me, and I almost jumped into my locker and planned to hide inside it until the hallway was clear again. Almost.

"Hey, Car." Finally, I heard the voice I've been dying to hear which also saved me from the idea of locking myself in my own locker.

Shelley showed up beside me and was entering the combinations of her locker. I closed mine after taking out the textbook for first period and spun around to face her. "I started to think that you are not coming to school today."

"I was talking to someone at the parking lot." Shelley said with a sorry face.

I leaned closer to her, lowered down my voice, "Shell, do you feel that everyone's looking at me? And some are whispering behind my back?"

One of Shelley's eyebrows raised as if she was processing the question I just asked her, and the second she finished processing everything, both of her eyebrows were frowned. "Why would everyone look at you and whispering? What did you do?"

"Nothing!" I shook my head slightly.

Shelley could sense that I was getting more uncomfortable as I felt everyone was looking at me, she put a hand on my shoulder to calm me down. "Maybe they're not looking at you, and maybe they're not talking about you. Maybe you're just being oversensitive."

"Maybe I am..." Maybe I really was just being oversensitive, because, what would they talk about me behind my back anyway? I had done nothing for them to gossip around.

I really needed to talk to Cohen about that kiss, but I never had the chance to do it. Right now I was home, babysitting Amelia, because Cohen said he had something to do and asked me to pick up Amelia at the daycare. Mr. Kane was out of town again and it's most likely that Amelia has to sleepover at our house anyway.

Shelley was here too since she was the one driving me to the daycare center to pick up Amelia and then drove us here. I didn't bring my car to school today as well, my mom offered to send me because she was having a day off.

We were playing with Amelia's magna tiles, she wanted to build a castle with those and we were helping her, when Shelley said something that she normally won't say, "I heard there's a party at Hunter's tonight."

"A party? Am I hearing you right, Shelley?" I couldn't believe that Shelley was talking about a party, it's not something that we normally talk about, because normally we wouldn't go to a party.

"Yeah," Shelley assured me by nodding her head and told me that she was indeed talking about a party, "I want to go."

"Why?" I really wanted, no, I needed to know what made her suddenly had the idea of going to a party at Hunter's.

However, Shelley wasn't the one who responded to my question, instead, my mother did. "Carys, when was the last time both of you went to a party?"

It took me some time to recall my memories. When was the last time Shelley and I went to a party? "The New Year's party?" I wasn't sure that I mentioned the right party, but it was the most unforgettable party I've ever been to when I was a sophomore, where I lost my first kiss to a junior from other school named Evan.

Both my mother and Shelley nodded making me surer that I was right. "And it was more than a year ago." My mom added.

Was it that long? That was in first semester of sophomore  year, and we're in the second semester of junior year now... Oh... It was indeed that long time ago...

"But why do you suddenly want to go to a party?" I threw the question out again hoping I could get a proper response this time while asking Amelia if I got the right color that she wanted for her castle, she smiled at me and nodded, what a cute little girl, I wouldn't want to go anywhere without her.

"It's just... It's Hunter's party... I guess he's gonna be there..." He. Mason! Why didn't I think of that! It's Hunter's party, of course Cohen and Mason will be there.

My mom found a chance to cut in again, "Just go, you guys are teenagers, you should go have fun instead of staying home doing nothing everyday."

Doing nothing? I didn't do nothing! Mother, how could you say that? I had to stand up on myself on this, "I didn't do nothing, I study."

"Well, what do you do beside study?" My mother added, looking at me with a sort-of-smug smile on her face as if she already knew what I was gonna say.

"Uhm... Uh..." I was stuttering, because I knew my mom was right and I didn't know how to answer. "Sometimes... Sometimes, babysitting Amelia, most of the time... Just watching tv." Watching tv was actually my favorite leisure activity, I was too lazy for anything else.

"You watch the tv when you have nothing to do, so it's basically nothing." Anything could become nothing if my mother had to put it that way, like 'you'd go for a run when you have nothing to do' or 'you only go fishing by the lake when you have nothing to do.' Besides, I should be babysitting Amelia right now instead of going to a party.

"Honey, sweetheart, would you please listen to your mother, and go to that party to have fun, like most teenagers do?" My mom continued. "Don't worry about Amelia, if you hadn't forgotten, I am having my day off, today and tomorrow. So don't worry about anything."

"Yeah, listen to Michelle, she is your mom, and a daughter should listen to her mother..." Shelley looked at me with a puppy face, and that's the second cutest thing ever. "So can you come with me? Pretty please?"

I looked at Shelley, then looked at my mom, who nods her head once when I met her eyes, then at Amelia who was still building her castle with the magna tiles, then at Shelley again, "Okay. Fine."

"Yes!" Shelley jumped up from the floor excitedly. She turned to look at the clock at the wall and sighed almost too exaggeratedly. "What? It's already 7:45 now, the party is already started, let's go!"

"Right now?" I glanced down to see I was still wearing what I wore to school today, a typical me with a white tank top and a blue and white flannel shirt as my outerwear, and a pair of washed denim jeans.

I glanced over at Shelley who was also in her school's wear which were a grey color based sleeveless graphic tee, a denim shorts and a cardigan.

Well, we really could go anytime now, it's just a house party anyway, it's not like we wanted to go there just to get attention, so no need to dress too dramatically, no pressure. However, we had one other problem. "We are not invited though..."

"Nobody's invited, but everyone's going to be there." Shelley said while putting on her white Converse, "So shut up and put on your shoes, then get your butt hops into my car."

I took my Nike sneakers and put it on and ran after Shelley who was starting the engines of her car, "Bye, mom. Bye Amelia!"
