Eight-

Dawn texted me last night, saying that everything has been checked out and Jamie and Chloe are ready for Skylar. Right on time too, graduation is a few days away, and I wasn't planning to spend my summer taking care of an adorable one year old.

That calls for another trip to see Trinity, maybe even the last one. When she calls to talk to Skylar we rarely talk, and I defiantly didn't tell her about what happened with Crystal. This trip is going to be heartbreakingly sad because this is the trip I have to tell Trinity about my plans with Skylar.

The Friday we leave I go to school for half the day. I'm leaving in the middle of lunch, which is currently right now, so I'm at my locker, getting my things ready, when someone leans against the locker beside mine. My body stiffens, already knowing who it is.

Seeing her is like a breath of fresh air. Maybe she'll forgive me. Or maybe she'll kiss me. I've been dreaming about those full, pink lips of hers...

"I want to go with you to see Trinity," Crystal says, making my heart deflate.

"How do you know I'm seeing Trinity?" I ask, closing my locker.

"Your mom told me." Of course she did. "Are you going to tell her about Skylar's adoption?"

Nodding, I start heading to the front doors. "She's leaving next Saturday."

Crystal goes to a stand still, which cause me to pause. "Are you okay?"

"That soon?" She asks, her voice barely audible.

I nod, my heart heavy. Most everyone loves Skylar tremendously.

We continue waking until we're at my car. "My stuff is already in the trunk so we don't need to stop at my place," Crystal says once we're in. I don't even question how she got into my car.

The ride to my place is silent, so I turn on the radio. Crystal's leans her head against the window, eyes shut. I don't try to talk to her, she's giving off this vibe that says she doesn't want to talk to me.

Crystal stays in the car while I go into the house and get Skylar, her bags already packed and neatly stacked on the kitchen table. I find my family in the living room, Skylar and Chelsea playing with blocks, Christian on his phone, Mom and Dad on the couch, watching the news.

"Hey honey, all set?" Mom asks when I walk into the room.

"Yeah." Skylar's head snaps away from her blocks and she sees me. Giggling, she stands up and walks a few feet before falling on her butt. She ends up at my feet, looking up at me with those big blue eyes that no one can resist. Somehow they've gone from my brown to Trinity's light blue. It's amazing. "Hey Skylar." I pick her up. "Are you ready to see mommy?"

She nods quickly. "Be carful, love you," Mom says. I grab the bags from the table.

"See you all later, love you," I say before leaving the house.

Crystal is leaning against the car when I step out of the house. Her bright smile shines when she spots Skylar. As I come closer her baby talking starts. "Oh my, look who has grown." Crystal steals Skylar from me and straps her into her car seat.

"I'm going to sit back here with Sky," Crystal tells me, making herself comfortable in the seat right of Skylar's car seat.

"Whatever you want," I mutter and start the car. Through the mirror I can see her rolling her eyes.

I think this is Skylar's best trip. She doesn't cry once, a little whining, she slept most of it, along with Crystal.

At the hotel I get a room with two twin beds, figuring Crystal won't want to sleep in the same bed as me.

After a goods nights rest, in which Skylar slept in Crystal's arms, we're off to see Trinity. I don't know what to tell her if she asks if we're dating still, or why we broke up. I don't want to admit it was because of her; in reality she did nothing wrong. I was the one who said her fucking name.

I still can't figure out what led me to say it. I clearly knew it was Crystal, her lips we're slightly chapped, but her mouth was skilled, unlike with Trinity, whose lips were always smooth, but she didn't know what she was doing the first few times, and she was never as good as Crystal is.

Trinity greets us with a wide grin. I place Skylar in her awaiting arms.

She looks different. Her eyes have bags under them, she's hooked up to all different kinds of machines, and her stomach has thinned considerably.

"How are you feeling Trin?" I ask her, sitting down in the chair. Crystal tenses from her spot on the other side of Trinity's bed.

"So much better now that my baby's here." She doesn't seem to notice all the tension in the room, or she does but she just doesn't want to acknowledge it.

Crystal makes things awkward by not taking to me, and I can tell Trinity is catching on by lunch.

"I'm going to get some lunch, you guys want something?" Crystal asks around one, standing up and grabbing her purse.

"Cafeteria food or real food?" Trinity asks, which makes Crystal laugh. I love hearing her laugh.

"Real food."

"Chicken sandwich would be perfect, thank you."

Crystal turns to look at me. "Cheeseburger, no onions?"

I nod, secretly loving how she knows my order.

Crystal leaves and almost immediately Trinity is spitting out her first question. "What is with you guys?"

"What do you mean?" I ask back, even though I know exactly what she means.

"Cut the crap Colton, what happened between you all?" she gasps. "Did you break up?"

I nod slowly and watch her reaction. "Oh my god," she mumbles. "Why?"

I don't know if I should tell her or not. I've been telling my friends it was because school was ending and we wanted to end our relationship peacefully before we go to college, which are two different colleges.

"It's kind of personal." I look away with a slight blush.

When I look back at Trinity she has a knowing look on her face. "Ahh, I understand."

She knows what happened? How? "What?"

"You couldn't get, you know, it, up? It's okay, it happens to a lot of guys." It takes me a minute to understand what she's saying, but when I come to the realization I'm immediately at defense.

"No, no, no, nothing like that, definitely not that, no problem on that department."

She giggles. "No need to get all defensive."

"Hey, if my manhood is at stake then I have the right to get defensive."

Trinity nods in agreement. "Don't think you're getting off that easy, now why did y'all break up?"

Scrunching my nose, I say, "well, she was sucking me off-" Trinity slaps her hands over her ears, making me stop.

"Ewe!" She scrunches her own nose.

I laugh at her discomfort. "Like you and I haven't done worse."

A slow blush creeps down her neck. "Continue," she says.

"Anyways, in the middle of the blowjob I kinda moaned something."

Trinity's eyes narrow. "What did you moan?"

I look away. "A name." I hear the loud gulping of Trinity.

"Who's name?" She asks in a small voice.

I get enough courage to look her right in the eyes when I answer, "yours."

With my bags packed I head outside. The other campers are sitting in the grass, their stuff in front of them, waiting for their parents. It's a gloomy day, matching my mood. The clouds are gray and the sky is dark; it looks like it's going to pour down rain soon.

I take a seat beside Derrik. "I hate this part," Derrik says, watching as Eric, a guy from our cabin, leaves with his mom.

I agree, even though this is my first time doing it. "Where's Trinity?" Derrik asks me after a few minutes of silence.

I shrug and look around. A number of the girls have yet to come out, maybe because they have so much shit to pack.

"You're not going to say goodbye to her?" I was planning on it, but I'm not going to be knocking on her cabin to see if she's in there. Guys can't even be on girl cabin's porch, much less inside, and vise versa.

My dad pulls in with my family. I do the whole reunion thing, hugging and kissing, before excusing myself from my family.

I stop one of Trinity's cabin-mate, Aerial I think her name is, and ask her if where Trinity is. "She disappeared when she finished packing. She's not in the cabin, so I don't know where she is."

I thank her before going back to my family. I give the goodbyes to the people who have become some really good friends. "You ready?" Dad asks when I get done saying bye to Derrik.

I hesitantly nod and climb into the back seat with my brother and sister. Christian asks many questions about camp and what I did. I answer as quickly as possible and can't help but notice we're passing the lake. It may be my imagination, but I'm pretty sure I see a figure sitting on the edge of the gazebo.

"Hey, can you stop for a minute?" I ask Dad, tapping his shoulder to get his attention.

Dad does as I ask. I don't even wait for the car to completely stop before I'm running towards the gazebo.

The bun gives her away, every damn day she wears it like that. I sit beside her and wrap an arm around her shoulders. She flinches, before realizing it's only me. "I thought you were going to leave without saying goodbye," she mumbles, shoving her teary face into my white shirt.

I kiss the top of her head and stroke her hair, getting a little teary eyed myself. "I'm not that heartless," I joke. I hear her muffled laughter.

When she looks up her eyes are red and her face is covered in tears, but she's still the beautiful girl I fell for. "I love you Trinity, and you have made this the best summer of my life."

Her soft lips meet mine for a short and sweet kiss. "I love you too, Colton. I wish we didn't have to leave our little oasis."

"Don't worry, we'll keep in touch, and I'll come visit you. We're not leaving each other."

She nods in agreement and we stand up. "My family's waiting," I say.

Trinity's arms snake around my neck. "You can keep them waiting a few more minutes." With that she kisses me. It's the most intense, passionate, loving kiss I have ever had, and it makes it that much better that I got to experience it with the love of my life.

We break away for breath and I rest my forehead against hers. She grabs my hand and places a piece of paper in it. "Go on, I don't want you to keep your family waiting."

I kiss her on the cheek before walking away. I want that passionate kiss we shared to be our last kiss for a while, remind her that she's mine and no one else's.

"Who was that?" Mom asks from her seat in the front, eyebrows raised.

I watch as Dad pulls away and Trinity slowly disappears. "A friend."

"She must've been a really good friend," Dad mutters.

I look at the folded piece of paper in my hand, a little heart drawn on the front. I open it and find neat handwriting, at the top says To My Love.

I take a deep breath before reading. Two months I have known you now. Eight weeks, 56 days, 1,344 hours. That may not seem like a lot, but for me it lasted a lifetime.

Girl's always talk about that Endless Love, the love you fight for, the love from The Notebook. I used to think that kind of love didn't exist. That is, until I met you.

Colton, my love, you have changed my life. 56 days is plenty of time to fall in love with you, and trust me, I fell, I fell hard, and I hope you did too. You are sweet, cute, funny, the perfect guy.

I'm going to let you in on a little secret. I didn't like you at first. I thought you were a cocky lacrosse player like the rest of them. I never dated jocks. You are the only exception.

As unlikely as it is, I hope we last. I hope our love will die with us. But, this is the real world. We practically live in different states, you're obviously a killer ladies man, this, us, just doesn't add up in the real world. This is me giving you permission to move on. Kiss someone else, love someone else, because Colton, you deserve it.

Thank you for our summer Colton, and I wish you all the happiness in the world.

Love, Trinity<3

P.S. You better text the hell out of me;)
