"Mom, you didn't buy my cereal!" I yelled to my mom who was in the other room as I looked through the cabinets in the kitchen. She went grocery shopping yesterday and I told her to buy my favorite cereal, Cinamon Toast Crush. I closed the cabinets.

"Honey, just drive to the store and get in yourself," my mom said as she entered the kitchen all dressed in a suit. I groaned, she knew I hated going to the store myself. I probably was the laziest human being alive. Since my mom and I have lived with each other all my lives, we had become more like roommates. There are things that she did for me and things I did for her. Things she did for me consisted of getting my favorite cereal and she did not this time. "Anyways, I have to give a speech at the science conference, how do I look?" She asked.

I looked over at her, she looked good. The woman looked great in everything with her perfect body. It seemed that everything that she wore fitted her curves perfectly, "great as usual," I said with a smile. "You're going to kill them today," she smiled.

"Should I open with a science joke?" She questioned. I chuckled shaking my head no, my mom was great at many things, but jokes were not amongst them. "Whatever, you're just hating," she said passing her hand in the air. "Now get out of the house before you're late for school," she said putting her mothering hat on. I laughed and grabbed my bag from the counter and my keys. She grabbed her stuff too since we were stepping out together.

"Have a great day, you got this," I reminded my mom as she entered her car. She blew me a couple of kisses. I smiled and I watched as she drove out of the driveway. I was about to enter my car when I heard CJ's door open. I stood to watch him, he closed the door quietly and walked to the sidewalk. I wonder why he walked to school every day, there was a car in the driveway that never left the house. I haven't seen his mother either, I wonder what she did for a living. Maybe she went to work early and came home late or something.

Today was different, CJ's hoodie was not over his head. His dark hair shined under the warm sun. He passed his hands through his hair as he stood. It was the hottest thing I've ever seen, he then through his hoodie over his hair. I knew it would not last forever. "Hey!" I called across to him. He looked over at me raising his eyebrow. "CJ!" I called him so he can know I was indeed talking to him.

From where I was standing I could see the debate he was having with himself if he should come up to me or not. He did not, I chose to be the bigger woman and walked across the street to where he was standing. "Hi," I said awkwardly. He just stood there staring at me. He was indeed wondering why this crazy girl was talking to him. He fixed his glasses bringing them closer to his nose as if he could not see well through them. "I just wanted to ask if you needed a ride," I said pointing to my car. Although the school was not far, I could not picture myself walking in this hot sun.

"No, thank you," he said kindly.

"Come on, what harm would it do?" I asked, "I'm just trying to be neighborly, isn't that what you country people do?" I questioned. He put his head down and I could have sworn he chuckled at my joke. Maybe I was getting somewhere.

"We live in a city," he said barely in a whisper.

"Yeah," I said realizing how stupid I was. "But, please get the ride," I said. He shook his head no again. "Okay, that's fine. Just walk in the hot sun and get a sunburn, I hear it happens faster to white folks," I said walking away in slow motion hoping he would yell for me to wait. He didn't, I reached my car, I entered my car slowly and he still did not come. I sat in the car still waiting, I finally let out a deep breath and started my car. I turned around and he was standing there looking at my car. I let out a deep breath again and got out of my driveway and made my way to school.

"City girl," I heard Justin's voice say the moment I got out of my car. He was parked beside me. I chuckled at his name for me. "You said I was country and that's why I asked you out," he added. He walked from his car to mine. His passenger door opened and his sister got out. She gave me a smile and left. "I don't know how they do things where you're from, but chivalry's not dead. I do believe in asking out a girl."

"Oh please," I said getting out my bag from the back of my car. "You did not ask me out, you said maybe we can grab a bite to eat," I said. "You couldn't even say: will you go out with me," I told him.

"Will you say yes if I do ask you out?" He questioned. I looked into his blue eyes, he seemed like a good guy. However, I did not have time for any relationship right now when I will be moving in a year. On top of that, I did not have time to feel vulnerable with someone. The last time I tried to do that in Vegas, I ended up getting hurt and that was the last thing I needed.

"No," I said.

"Then what was the point?" He asked. I shrugged my shoulder, I closed my door get got ready to start my day.

"I told you, Justin, I don't date," I reminded him.

I tried to walk away, but he grabbed me pulling me towards him. I had to calm myself down not to start screaming, "what do you do?" He asked. I chuckled not believing he could not get the hint. His hands were still holding onto my waist, I looked down at his hands. I think he knew I was one moment away from breaking every little bone in his hands since he moved them away from me quickly.

"Justin, you know nothing about me."

"I know enough, you're a bitch, selfish, a smart ass who thinks she knows everything, a girl who plays soccer," I had to admit that I felt a bit impressed, but I was not going to let him have it. I chuckled and nodded my head, I looked into his eyes again and decided to give him what he wanted.

I reached up and pecked his lips gently, he was surprised by my action. I smiled, "I'll see you at practice, Justin." I had my answer, anyone who knew and could handle me would know kissing a random guy was something my crazy self would do.

"Wait," he called me. "What's that supposed to mean? Will you go out with me?" He asked.

"Nope," I answered. "Just wanted to show you something."

"Show me what?"

"You can't handle my ass."
