CHAPTER SEVENTY SEVEN: DANCE

+++

"Babe you home?"

I heard Noah call as soon as I opened the front door. I stepped in and closed the door behind me, finally answering him back,

"Yeah,"

I walked over to the steps and took a seat, getting comfortable to take my heels off. Once I'm done taking them off, I stand sighing in peace. I look down at my painted toes and wriggle them, feeling the cold floor beneath the soles of my feet.

I look back up and head towards the living room, expecting to see them all there but only came to a vacant room. I walked over to the kitchen seeing another vacant room. I scrunch my brows together and walk over to the study. As I approach the room I hear voices,

"Daddy do you need this paper? I found it under a folder that's on the floor,"

"Oh yes bud, thank you! I've been looking for this,"

Noah responded to Xavier as he continued speaking formally to whoever he was speaking to,

"As I was speaking, I've sent some samples of pictures that I'd like taken on the day if that's alright,"

There was a pause as he continued, the twins talking among each other in the background,

"There's a few I wanted as well with my children. If it's doable I'll pay extra. Having both wedding and family pictures all in one,"

I smile knowing how detailed Noah was being. I don't waste a minute longer and knock on the door, all voices coming to a halt. I push down handle and part the door open slightly, sticking my head in. At my presence Xavier and Aria gasp, leaving their younger twin siblings.

I smile widely at them, now walking into the room. I get on my knees and open my arms, allowing them to fall into my embrace. I pulled back and spoke in a questioning, firm voice,

"Have you been listening to daddy?"

They nod,

"I've been helping daddy with the wedding..."

"... and and I've been helping daddy by playing with Rora and Zack,"

I flashed a smile at Aria, leaning forward to kiss her forehead,

"You've both been very helpful, thank you. Do you want to go play in your rooms for a little bit before dinner? I can take over to help daddy,"

The twins looked at each other, looking back at me. They nod their heads, leaving the study. My eyes then fall on Aurora and Zack, their eyes already on me. I gasp loudly making them go crazy. I stand on my feet and walk over to them both.

I get on the floor again and sit cross legged this time, leaning forward to pick up my youngest. He coos as soon as he's in my hold, my lips meeting his to share a kiss. I coo back at him,

"Hi baby, how have you been?"

He holds eye contact with me and coos, me nodding like I know what he's saying. I play along as I continue to converse with him my eyes moving back and forth to Noah as he spoke now in a hushed voice. I give him a quick questioning look before giving my attention back to Zack.

Zack clapped his hands as blew raspberries, occupied with his actions. I move him so that he was sat upright on my lap. My gaze then falls on Aurora as she patiently waits for my attention. She doesn't give me any reaction for a few seconds that made me give her a questionable look.

She blinked her eyes for a few seconds, her emerald eyes shining brightly at me. She sucked in a deep breath, parted her lips in tiny before cooing as cutely as she could. I smiled upon seeing her playful side, knowing that she was what I created... with the help of Noah that is...

I shook my head and spoke to her,

"You Miss King are one character ain't you? Turning out exactly like your father,"

At my words she cooed, nodding her head at my words. Her eyes left my face and fell behind onto Noah, clearly watching her father in admiration. I roll my eyes at her, knowing that Noah will spoil her rotten. She knew it herself, she had her father wrapped around her fingers.

I didn't complain though, it would be nice seeing how he gives up and caves in like he does with Aria. She meets my eyes again and raises her hands, indicating that she too wants to be in my hold. I stick my tongue out at her playfully before leaning forward to get her.

Zack remained unbothered in my lap as I picked her up. Instead of having her in my hold, I hold her under her arms so that she was stood on her own two feet. These days she had been enjoying to stand on her own two feet, building her strength to keep here whole body up.

Even though Aurora was only a couple months old, I knew that she had a confident and resilient persona. I knew that sooner or later she'd be taken her first steps. Oh how time had flown just by that thought alone.

Although Zack is the youngest, I knew that he had the persona of working in silence and at his own pace. He assessed his surrounds like how Xavier does. He was calm and I knew that I would spoil him without even realizing it.

Aurora bopped up and down in my hold, making it a little hard for me to keep a steady hold of her. I speak to her,

"Rora do you want me to put you in your walker? Go on a walk and explore your gigantic environment,"

She pouted before blowing a raspberry, something she did when she agreed with me. I nod in acceptance as I asked the same to Zack. Even though I couldn't see his face I knew that he had a pout on his face, as if he was thinking what he wanted.

Seconds later he wriggled in my lap, me taking that as a yes. I called both Xavier and Aria down, them following my instruction and coming in a minute. They both walked back into the study,

"I hope I wasn't disturbing anything big. Can you help mummy real quick?"

They don't question and simply nod,

"Can you both work together and get Rora's and Zack's walker from the living room?"

"Okay mummy!"

They respond in sync. They both leave the room, coming back a couple of seconds later with their once owned walker. Aria brings her pink walker whilst Xavier pushes his blue one. I sucked in my lips as I used all my might to pick Aurora up mid-air.

Aria pushed the walker forward so that Aurora was hovering over the seat. Aria then held onto her sisters legs and guided them so that when I lowered her, her legs were directly going into the walker. Once she was sat down I let go of her, watching her as she fiddled with the toys attached.

She hopped in her seat, screaming in delight. Aria crouched down and played with her. The two sisters busy with each others company. I leave them both to play, my gaze now falling on Xavier. He smiles at me before pushing his walker over.

Instead of waiting for me to lift Zack off my lap he comes to my side and picks up his younger brother himself as carefully as he could. I don't stop him but keep a close eye on him in case he needed extra support.

I moved my position so that I was sitting on my heels, hands hovering under Zack as Xavier used his growing strength to guide Zack above the stroller. I took Aria's stance, making sure that Zack's legs were in position before Xavier moved Zack so that he was beginning to sit.

I watched Xavier's face as he held a look of immense concentration. I bit my lower lip, just seeing how mature he was. I could see a little hint of struggle so I stepped in, helping him lower Zack. Once Zack was sat, he also played with the toys a little before using his little feet to push himself.

I keep my eyes on Xavier, reaching to hold onto his hand. He takes tiny steps to me. I bring him so that he was sat in my lap like how Zack was. I wrapped my arms around his form and kissed his cheek, making sure to keep my lips lingered on his skin a little longer.

When I knew that he had enough I pulled back and kissed the top of his head. I smiled to myself, the realization kicking in knowing that Xavier had grown up. I wanted to savoir the moment forever,

"You know I'm so proud of you right?"

At my words he sunk into my lap, feeling shy. I rubbed his arms before releasing him, knowing that if he was here any longer he'd be embarrassed,

"Go on then, you can go back to playing,"

He doesn't say anything and pushes himself off me, leaving the room in a hurry. I made myself a mental note to chat with him and him only. I had a feeling that something was bothering him. I licked my lips, turning my whole body so that I was facing Noah who was still on the phone.

He already had his eyes on me, doing two jobs at once. He licked his bottom lip once, my eyes trained on the action before taking account of his comfortable stance as he leaned forward in front of the desk, pen in hands as he wrote down notes.

He nodded his head a few times, writing a few more things. I pout, knowing that he wasn't giving me enough attention so I stand and walk to him. Doesn't look at me but rather down at the paper but that didn't mean he was unaware of my movements.

I walked over to him so that I was stood behind his chair, arms snaking down his rock hard chest. He stops talking for a second, inhaling deeply at the action. He composes himself and drops the pen, his hand moving so that his fingers brushed up and down my bare skin of my arm.

I shiver at the small act of love, now taking a little control by spinning his chair with my free arm. His emerald eyes finally meet mine, never breaking from my hazel ones. He changes hands to hold the phone on his other ear, his now free hand snaking around my waist.

He tugs me, bringing me to his lap. I heed, moving so that I was sat on his tensed thighs that kept me upright. My hands sit perfectly around his neck, the tips of my fingertips playing with his hair. He closes his eyes at the action, humming at whatever the photographer was saying,

"That sounds perfect. I'll type everything up and email it to you by this evening latest,"

He hung the phone, dropping it on the desk without a care. He inhaled once more, exhaling right after. He blinks my way as his arms snaked around my waist, bringing me even closer if it was possible.

We don't say anything to each other, our heads leaning forward as we shared a deep kiss. I smile into the kiss, both my hands cupping his face. He pulls back first as he questions,

"Did you have a good time with the girls?"

I sucked in my lips and nodded,

"It was nice seeing them and having a girls day out,"

Noah smiled,

"I'm glad to hear, it was about time you had a girls day. Just know that you'll be having more since the wedding is around the corner,"

I rolled my eyes, my hands moving upwards to have his hair run between my fingers,

"Knowing you I figured. Oh that reminds me, Daisy said she wants to take me somewhere, you okay with that?"

"Do you know where?"

I shook my head,

"She said it was a surprise,"

He frowned upon hearing my answer but was okay with it regardless. He nodded a few times not saying anything. Noah as a person was a unpredictable person with unpredictable actions. We fell into a comfortable silence when suddenly I was mid-air in his arms.

A squeal leaves my lips, arms tightening around his neck. He held me bridal style, his stands now tall and bold. He pushed his chair back and walked around the table. We held eyes, small puffs of air leaving my lips. He stopped when he was in the middle of the room,

"Why'd you stop?"

I whisper, not being able to gather my thoughts properly. The corner of his lips tugged up as he answered with ease,

"So you get an idea of what to expect on our wedding day,"

I held in a breath, hearing the words out loud. Our wedding day. Our wedding day that will happen in less than a week

"You know, I'm surprised you haven't gone all bridezilla on me yet. I feel like I became one instead,"

He pipped, the end of his sentence ending playfully. A small gasp leaves my lips as I breath out,

"The weddings in less than a week,"

He furrowed his brows together, piecing my words together. I had no time to begin my sudden, unplanned rant now wanting him to put me down so I can start whatever I needed to do for the wedding. Instead I'm still in his hold, our lips sealed perfectly with each others.

I feel him move, but where? Only God knows.

He didn't move far, moving in a stance so that he was going to sit down. My feet then touched the soft material of his sofa, me being the one to break the kiss. My mind was in a daze, taking in our new surroundings.

I wanted to get comfortable so I moved so that I was sat on his lap, legs on either side of him. I used both my hands to comb my hands through my hair, letting it cascade down my back. My chest moving in a quick pace, caught in the heat of the moment.

Noah used his hands to run his hands up and down my thighs creating a new wave of sensation to run through my blood. I bring my face back down, pressing our lips again. I become stuck in the moment, wanting to not worry about the wedding just yet.

Noah caught on as he placed his hands on my hips, guiding me so that I was grinding on him slowly, a quiet growl voiced around us. I smile into the kiss, making sure that the next grind I do was a deep one. He pulled away first and met my eyes with determination as he spoke hoarsely,

"Don't,"

I speak acting like I didn't have a clue,

"Don't what?"

He licked the corner of his lip making it obvious for me as he then reiterated,

"Fine, I can play too,"

Without warning his hand snaked up my shirt, the soft touch of his skin against mine sending shivers up and down my spine. I was pretty sure that he gave me goosebumps too, but I didn't care. I loved the intimacy we had.

I couldn't help but relax my body, my head rolling to the side as my eyes closed briefly. One of his hands left contact and came out from my shirt, only to touch my exposed neck. He gently massaged my neck, resulting me to moan in delight at the touch.

My hands also move to his neck, the tips of my fingertips playing with the nape of his neck where his baby hairs were. He shivers under my touch, me grabbing the chance to kiss him once more as our bodies worked as one.

We were both caught in the heated moment, forgetting everything around us. Somewhere along the line, Noah used his effortless strength to change positions, me now wedged deep in the sofa with him hovering above me.

Our foreheads were pressed against each others as Noah broke the kiss, breathing at a quick pace. He used his finger to rub the corner of his lips, my eyes taking in how pink it had become. He removes his hand from his lips and whispers breathlessly,

"Come on, stress later. Let's dance,"

"Dance?"

I question almost instantly. Noah places both arms on either side of me, towering in as he spoke hushed,

"Yeah, I wanna practice for the big day. Who knows, you might trip up on our big day,"

I scoff at his statement, rolling my eyes,

"You mean you?"

He perked one eyebrow, the corner of his lip tugging upwards,

"Come on then, let's see who trips up. First one to trip gets whatever they want for three hours,"

I also perk my eyebrow at his challenge, sucking in my lips in question. I don't ponder on it for long, meeting his determined emerald eyes,

"Deal,"

Noah says nothing other than pushing himself away from me, strutting towards his desk, turning on the laptop. He types away on his keyboard, a beeping noise rings around us indicating me that he connected his laptop to the speakers he had in his office.

Minutes later the sound of ballroom music starts playing. The intro starting off with a few keys of a piano playing, slowly building with multiple violins. Noah walks to the center of the open space and extends a hand, waiting for me to take it.

I inhale deeply, now shitting myself knowing that I would trip somehow. I bite the inside of my lip before placing my hands on the sofa to push myself up. I strut over to him and take his hand. He pulls my arm making me gasp at how fast he pulled me into his embrace.

One of my hand holds the nape of his neck, the other holding a firm grip on his flexed bicep. I let out a strangled gasp, my head tilting back to meet his playful eyes,

"Can you give me a little heads up before doing anything? At this point you might as well give me a whiplash,"

Noah chuckles deeply, the sound tingling through my whole body. It didn't help since his hands were placed comfortably on my waist, the pads of his fingertips making circle motions only making me warm and slightly bothered by his touch.

The hand I had gripping on his bicep moved so that it was comfortably resting on his broad shoulder, our bodies moving in sync as he moved left and right. Our steps changed to the beat of the music now adding twists, turns and dips here and there.

We must've been dancing for a while because when I took my eyes off Noah and at the door I saw the twins stood outside. I knew Noah watched them as well, the both of us sharing a look before looking at the twins allowing them to come in.

They both stepped into the room and watched us in awe as we continued to glide around the room in each others arms. My eyes fell on them again, seeing them both now have smiles plastered on their faces.

They turn to each other and have their twin moment, ending their silent talk by nodding at what they both agreed on telepathically. Aria extends her hand for Xavier to hold, him looking down and reaching forward without hesitation.

He gives her hand a little squeeze, the both of them taking a few more steps inside as they turn faced each other. Both their gaze fell on us briefly, eyes in immense concentration as they watched us move.

They released their hands, Xavier placing his hands on Aria's hips like how Noah did. Aria copying me as she placed her hands around Xavier's neck. Xavier took a step to the left as Aria took one to the right resulting Aria to step on Xavier's feet,

"Argh! Ari! That hurt,"

"Sorry Xavy, I didn't mean too. I was just trying to copy mummy,"

Aria says in a innocent voice. I met Noah's gaze as he had a look of admiration at the scene of our firstborns. He speaks for them to listen,

"Watch me and mummy,"

We ditched the complicated steps and moved so that we were moving left and right in sync, moving closer to the twins so that we were in line with them. The twins watched us as they slowly followed our lead, the four of us moving left and then right.

Once they got the hang of it we then moved so that we were taking one step back and one step forward. The twins got a little confused, stepping on each others feet but eventually got the gist, moving in partnership. Noah then guided Xavier by telling him to watch his moves.

Noah took a step away as he extended his arm out, I met his eyes as he gave a single nod telling me to spin. I gave a quick glance to Aria and said,

"Baby watch me as I spin,"

I move slowly so that Aria watched my steps, my steps graceful as I spun in confidence, falling into his embrace. We paused for a second in each others arms as we watched the twins attempt what we had done.

Xavier lifted his tiny arm as high as he could, Aria using her free arm to balance as she spun on the spot with determination. Once she had spun she quickly grabbed onto Xavier's hand as he reached out just in time before she had missed a step.

Neither me or Noah say anything, knowing that the twins had picked up the moves in mere minutes. We face each other again and move to the sound of the music. I sigh in content, loving the idea of being able to dance with the love of my life and
