4 months later

Last night Jai and I didn't stay together. He wanted to do the traditional thing of not seeing me, until I was walking down the alter to him.

I'm woken by the baby kicking me. I place my hand on my stomach. "Mommy's awake. It's going to be a month until I get to see you. Daddy and I are looking forward to meeting you."

The baby kicks me again.

While I was busy talking with my baby I didn't notice Leila standing at the door.

A smile spreads across her face. "I've been doing that a lot lately too. Talking my baby." She walks over to the bed and sits next to me. "I found out the gender of my baby."

"What are you having?"

"We're having twins. A boy and girl. The boy has been hiding his sister and today he moved and we were able to see our daughter." Her eyes begin to cloud over.

I'm happy for her.

I give her a hug. "You've got two for the price of one. One's going to look like you and the other will look like Ace."

"I hope so. I don't think I would be able to handle two Ace's. The original is enough." She rises. "Teresa sent me up here to tell you breakfast is ready."

"Tell her I will be down in a minute." I climb out of bed and walk to the bathroom. I brush my hair and put it in a bun before I walk downstairs.

My lower back starts to ache as I walk into the kitchen. "Do you have a heat pack, Leila?"

"Yes," she rises and walks over to the medicine cupboard. She pulls out three ice cream containers that are filled with different sorts of drugs.

I haven't seen that many medications before. Jai and I are the same age and we only have the basic stuff.

Leila puts the pack in the microwave and she walks back over to the table.

Teresa puts waffles on the table and we take three each. She smiles. "I'm glad that I made extra waffles for myself. I expected the two of you to go straight for them, like you did at your house on New Years,"

The timer on the microwave goes off and Teresa walks over to it. She pulls the heat pack out and she brings it over to me. "Lean forward,"

I lean forward and she places the heat back on my lower back where the pain is. "Thanks, Teresa."

Teresa smiles. "You're welcome." She sits across from Leila and I. She eats her waffles.

At 1pm, the limo pulls in front of the church. There's a group of people standing out front. I see Veronica amongst them and she approaches me.

Veronica gives me a hug. "I'm glad you're here. My son is standing in his room saying. She changes her voice to sound like Jai. "she's not going to show."

I laugh. "You sounded exactly like him."

I don't know where he would get the idea of me not showing up from. I'm carrying his child, I have a ring on my finger and I'm the happiest I've ever been.

Nothing would keep me away from marrying the man of my dreams today. After today I will be known as Chloe Marshall.

Veronica takes my hand. "I will show you to your room. I don't want my son to see you walk into the church. He can wait to see you."

The girls and I follow Veronica to the room. She opens the door for us and we walk into the room."

Close to the window is a full length mirror and I walk over to it. I stare at my reflection in the mirror. My normal brown hair has curls in it. A diamond necklace is around my neck, diamond earrings are in my ears. I am wearing something old, my shoes, something new, my earrings, something borrowed, the butterfly clip in my hair. I borrowed that from Leila. Something blue, my leg corsage.

I can't wait for Jai to take it off with his mouth.

There's a knock on the door and I turn away from my reflection. I open the door and see Charlotte there.

Charlotte hugs me. "You look gorgeous, sil." She closes the door and stands next to my maid of honour and the other bridesmaids. "Nate's with Jai at the moment. He's trying to calm my brother down from freaking out about you."

Picking up my phone I call Nate. He answers right away.

Nate: Hello?

Me: Hey, bro. Can you tell Jai to calm down?

I hear Nate tell him that.

Me: Tell him I'm at the church waiting to walk down the aisle to be greeted by the perfect man.

Nate: I'm not saying all that.

He relays part of the message to Jai.

I hang up before Jai can talk to me.

I will see him in five minutes.

The door opens and I see Nate. He looks at me. "Mom, Dad and Aleysa all should have been here to see this."

I know. I would have loved it if Dad could have walked me down the aisle.

When I was younger I used to dream about the day I would get married and how Dad would be there for me. He would take my hand and ask me. "Are you ready to get married?"

And I would reply with a "yes,"

A smile would spread across his face. He'd kiss my cheek and say. "Let's get you married."

I'm happy that Nate said 'yes' to walking with me. I could have asked Jai's dad, but he doesn't have my parents blood running through him.

Nate takes my hand. "Are you ready to marry, Jai?"

A smile spreads across my face. "Of course."

I hear music play and the girls begin there walk. I follow them towards to the door. I feel more pain in my lower back and I wince.

Nate stops and he looks at me. "Don't lie to me when I ask this. Are you alright?"

I take a deep breathe. "I have pain in my lower back. I called my midwife earlier and she told me it's nothing to worry about. So, I'm going to take her advice and marry Jai today."

The song changes and "Here comes the bride" plays.

"Do you want me to carry you?"

"No, I'm good. I can keep going."

Nate opens the door and we enter the room.

I see Jai standing next to the priest.

He's wearing a suit and tie.

It looks perfect on him. I love seeing him wear that.

I don't take my eyes of my fiancé as I walk towards him. It's like he's the only guy in the room.

A smile spreads across his face and he whispers. "I love you."

"I love you, too." I feel something warm trickle down my legs, but it's mixed with a lot of blood.

That's not normal.

"Chloe," I hear someone yell from a distant.

Jai runs off the stage.

That's the last thing I see before collapsing onto the church floor.
