NC - The Cook

"I just think it's really funny how Dane can throw my fishing pole into the Lake, but i'm the one that gets in trouble for it." Thomas sulked, pulling off his water soaked books and sitting them down beside the bus.

Dane didn't bother looking at Thomas as he typed on his phone, "and I just think it's really funny how you jumped into that Lake, like a dummy, knowing good and well that you couldn't swim." He added.

Thomas stood up from the ground, pointing his finger. "It's not that I can't swim, it's just that I never learned." He defended himself.

"Thomas, do you ever listen to yourself talk sometimes," Dane said, popping the top off of his soda, taking a sip. "So what now? We're all soak and wet and no one wants us wetting up their floors, and it's going to take a heck of a long time to dry off and I'm starving."

Jack took his shirt off, ringing the water out of it a few times, before setting it out to dry in the sun. "We could always go to a barbecue place, they'll seat us outside." He suggested.

Dane groaned. "I'm sick of barbecue, think of something else."

"Well, we could always just go back to the hotel, and you know, cook something." Lee said sarcastically.

Dane glanced up at Lee. "No offense Betty Crocker, but no one feels like eating dessert at two in the afternoon, you know, since the only thing you know how to do is bake."

Lee rolled his eyes. "I wasn't suggesting that I cook." He replied, looking over at Jack.

Jack immediately shook his head. "Nu-uh, I'm not going anywhere near that stove." He said, leaning back against the bus's door. "The last time I cooked, Thomas almost died."

"That's only because the idiot didn't tell anyone he was allergic to peanut oil."

Thomas shrugged innocently. "What? I hadn't eaten it in like five years. I thought I wouldn't be allergic to it anymore."

Everyone looked at him blandly, before turning back to Jack.

He raised his hands in the air. "Sorry, not happening."

Dane sighed loudly. "You're all a bunch of useless people." He flickered his eyes on Kaitlyn, "What about you? Can you cook?"

She opened her mouth, "A little, but I'm no chef.

Dane clapped his hands together. "Great, you'll do the cooking when we get back to the hotel. I'll call Charles to pick up some groceries." He said with finality.

Kaitlyn held her hand out watching as Dane turned his back to her, talking loudly over the phone. "Wait, I never said..I don't want to.. cook." She said lamely, but Dane was already telling Charles's exactly what to buy.
