...................................................

You were blaming it on your destiny,

While I was still not done with writing my own.
....................................................

The stars above were going to be the only witnesses of this night.

He thought while gazing at the clear sky above.
His fingers tapping on the steering wheel as an old song played on the radio.

With the car parked at the side of a deserted road, he sat in calmness that was impossible in such a situation.

But then again he was not a normal man, his calmness being much more dangerous than his anger for sure.

Checking his watch he sighed with a bored look on his face.

10:42

The clock showed.

There was still time, he thought.

The radio lost its signal suddenly, making him change it to another.

"An orange warning!! I repeat !! A thunderstorm is approaching the states, will a wind velocity of 150 km/ hr.
Due to the sudden arrival of this, it couldn't be predicted.
Expected to reach our state within half an hour, I request everyone to stay inside!! I repe-"

The news made him sit up.
A small smile to play on his lips as he welcomed the storm with open arms.

Nature was giving him the final approval.
It felt like everything was perfect tonight.

Perfect to seek revenge for his 24 years of pain.

Destiny will replay the show for you.
Except for the fact that positions have changed and tables have turned.

His phone ringed at 10:50

As expected he thought.

"Your work is done. The pictures were leaked and the police is on its way.
She is going to leave from here in like 5 minutes"

"Good. Connect me to the GPS in her car"

"Okay sir"

Within seconds his phone screen displayed a map with location tracker stagnant at a place.

Adjusting the earpiece in his ear and starting the ignition.
He placed the car to neutral and pressed the accelerator.

Roaring the engine of the Mustang in anticipation.
He smirked.

Just a lift from the clutch and the car will be ready for the chase.

"Sir we have a problem!!"

His men spoke and his knuckles turned white on the car steering.

All plans cannot be perfect.

His plan also had a flaw which no one could have ever predicted.
Not even him.

Who would have thought that his ugly duckling will suddenly develop wings and will fly away from her prison?

.....................................................

"It's dangerous ma'am! The pictures show it all!
See here in this picture ....it clearly shows that you are the one who has kidnapped her!!
Police are on its way!! We have to leave this place!!

"I will kill that bas*** who fuc*** backstabbed me!! I am sure he is among our men only!! Find him and get him to me!! Alive!!"

The person nodded while listening to another call as she moved ahead to sit inside the safety of her car.

"What!! How? "

The person exclaimed, making Veronica throw an irritated look at him.

"Ma'am....we caught the man.....but...she.....she has escaped"

"You fuc*** useless people!! She is drugged for god sake!! How can she escape in this state!! Ask him where she went?"

She seethed in anger while tightening her hold on the pistol.

"Towards the main road ma'am...we will catch her...the road is deserted...she won't be able to get any help"

She only replied with silence.
Then suddenly she smirked while ordering her driver

"Start the car"

"Where to ma'am?

"Turn towards the main road. Let's finish what we left incomplete."

...................................................

She was not alone here.

This was what she has realised till now.

Within minutes, the injection started its function.
The faces which looked hazy few minutes back were now crystal clear.

Those tattooed arms came in her view and she looked up to find him already staring at her.
He was helping her for an unknown reason.

She moved her arms, making the shackles to sound loudly in the silence of the night.

His gaze shifted towards something on her side and she followed his gaze.
There was a key to her lock.

Her surprised eyes met his, to only make him nod in response.
His eyes vary of anyone looking at their secret eye conversation.

She stretched her hand and without much effort, the key was in her hands.

Suddenly, loud shouts were heard from outside, making him move towards the door.

".Why....why are you helping me?"

Her question made him turn around and step closer to her.
The veil of coldness in his eyes was now replaced with concern.

"The police will come in a few minutes to save you.... don't leave this room.
Lock from inside..but don't open okay"

She nodded still unsure if she can follow his command.

He left vary of his surroundings.

Within minutes gunshots were heard and she didn't know what to do.

Scared for her saviours' safety, she got up and peeped through the door.

Her blood froze seeing the scene unfold.

Around 4 men surrounded her saviour, with them shouting profanities at him and kicking him.
His tattooed arms and bulky figure was not enough as they had cornered him.

She desperately wanted to help.
She was willing to do anything for his safety.

He told her to stay inside the room and lock it, but then her saviour will be dead in a few minutes.
How can she let him die for saving her?

She found the effect of the dug reducing as she was in full senses right now.

Exhaling all the stress out, she was ready.

Pulling open the door loudly, she stepped out to make the attackers look at her in surprise.

Their kicks halted as they took in her mobility with open mouths.

Once she got everyone's attention, her eyes landed on her saviours swollen eyes

"Run"

Was the only words she mouthed as she began doing the same thing in the opposite direction.

With everyone at her chase, she hoped she could help save her saviour.

Skidding down the long hallways, she ran for her life.

Her hands holding onto the walls for support as she turned her cuts swiftly.

Her lungs were dying for a moment of peace, but peace right now only meant one thing.

Death

Running out of the hallways, she found herself to be prisoned in a big warehouse.
With tons and tons of jute bags surrounding her.

"This way!! Come on!!"

The voices were near.
Looking around she found a heap of empty-looking bags in a corner.

Deciding to hide, she pulled the bags above her body.
Trying to be as immobile as possible.

"Boss will kill us if the girl escapes!! Hell, find her!!"

The voice sounded very near.

She held her breath as she heard footsteps around her.

Soon they disappeared into a distance and she breathed in.
But to her surprise, the bags smelt like something she found Rose carrying with her every time.

Her eyes widened as she realised that she was surrounded by hundreds of bags of illegal stuff worth millions of dollars.

There was no time for this...she has to escape if she wants to save others.

She can't die.

When their voices echoed at a distance, she made her way towards the man door.

The darkness of the night never felt so good.
Coming out of the building she ran without knowing anything.

The silence of the night soon felt suffocating as she stopped to gather her breath.

Her eyes fell on the never-ending road in front of her.
And all her hopes die.

There was no car, nothing.

Her feet ached badly but she didn't stop.
She had to reach safety first.
Strong will was the only thing she had, and it was alone enough she thought.

But her tests were not over yet.

The clear skies were suddenly covered by dark clouds and they roared in thunder.

Hugging herself, she kept moving forward.

No...no don't think about it Elle...you can do it.
You have to save your child....you have to keep going.
Don't look up... it's fine.
Nothing will happen.

Her question was answered by a glass breaking thunder.
Piercing rain accompanied the sound and she found herself shaking.

"No...God... please...my child...my angel... please God!!"

She was pleading now.
But still, those footsteps didn't waver.
Moving forward with hands placed on her baby bump and eyes wet with tears.
She was desperate for survival.

Her body shivered as her drenched clothes stuck to her.
The striking winds felt like sheets of ice piercing holes through her.

Her eyes couldn't see through the rain, her body couldn't feel through the pain.

Sobs were the only thing breaking out through the stubborn girl which refused to back down.

Fighting her fears, she moved forward to break through all of them.

"God... please..."
Were the only words escaping her lips?
As she pleaded with God to show her if he existed.

She has never hurt anyone, she only shared smiles and happiness.
She doesn't deserve this fate.

If he is there somewhere, he will help me.
She thought as she looked up with hand still placed on her belly.

As her tears intermingled with the salty rainwater, a loud horn was blown behind her.

Those scared, helpless eyes found the light of hope.

The light of headlights, that came from a car behind her.

Her heart beamed with happiness as she thought she found her silver lining in these dark clouds.

Signalling for a lift, she lifted up her hand with a hundred-watt smile on her face.

Rubbing her belly she whispered to herself.

"God will never let any
harm come to his angel.
We will be safe"

But soon her smiled disappeared as she realised that the car was not slowing down.

Her light of hope was now blinding her making her body to go in a state of shock.

Those brown eyes were dilated in fear as they saw their end near.

Is this how it ends?

End to all her dreams, aspirations, relations and love.
End to Elle Lockwood.

Will she never see Ashton again?
Her angel?
Her own self?...her hands? Her own face?
This sky? These storms?

She will not see all of them.

Will she vanish in thin air, to only leave her fragrance in her clothes behind?
Will Ashton miss her?

Her touch, her smiles, her kisses.
All will be gone to only leave memories behind.

Memories that will soon fade with time, to be only forgotten one day.

With time he will start forgetting my face.

These dull brown eyes he used to stare at, this tangled hair he used to play with.

All will be gone.

And soon ugly duckling will only remain a name that his lips will forget to pronounce again.

30 feet

That was the distance between my life and death.

7 seconds

Was the time left for impact.

..............................................

Destiny has its own way of playing it's ace on time.

Deja vu some call it,but no one exactly knows what will happen in line.
