Julie's pov:

It was only 15 minutes until the bus pulled into the school parking lot.

Where do I go from here?

I mean, I know where I'm suppose to go but should I walk up to someone and make friends?

Or should I just be a loner and head to my locker with my head hung down?

...

Yep, to the locker!

I walk to the front doors but turn around slightly to see Ashton join in with his group of bad boys.

Why am I so stalkish?

Now, I know when I said bad boys, you are picturing like tattoos and leather jackets, and breaking laws like there was no tomorrow.

Yeah... no.

Honestly, I think movies make 'bad boys' way more than they actually are.

Cigarettes and drinking is all that gives them this title?

Or sleeping with every single girl makes them a bad boy?

I never thought that.

I always thought of them as... not being afraid to break the rules.

To speak out.

To not give a single crap of what others think of them.

And I guess what makes them 'bad' is not fitting everyone's perfect expectations.

Getting in trouble for just having a little fun, making the most out of their life.

Oh, and I assume looking good comes with it too.

Oh god I sound like a creep.

....

Oh god I am a creep.

I turn my head back so no one sees me looking and I walk towards my locker.

I look down to the far side of the hallway to see someone waving in my direction.

I squint my eyes a little to see it is Gianna who I talked to yesterday.

I give her a wave back and I point to my locker to tell her to meet me there.

"Hey!!" She says and surprisingly gives me a hug.

"Hi" I say back after pulling away from the hug after a few seconds.

"How are you?" She asks.

I shrug my shoulders, "I've been okay, I'm still not used to waking up so early. I had another hour to sleep in at my last school."

She nods her head, "Yeah, I feel like compared to other schools, ours starts a little too early in the morning."

"Agreed, but by the way, did you do the homework?"

"Of course!!" She says and pulls it out of her folder. I showed her mine and we read each others homework before giving it back.

"I bet like half of the class didn't do it after they read the words 'paragraphs'." Gianna says as I close my locker and head to class.

"Ha, yea I bet." I say, but my head goes back to what has been on my mind all morning.

"Do you know what happened after the fight yesterday?" I should have asked Ashton but I didn't want to come off like one of those gossip girls.

"Well, I think two of the football players, the captain and another, and one of the 'bad boys' got suspended for like 3 days." She says giving a shrug.

So I'm guessing the two that started it and the football captain.

But why didn't Ashton get suspended?

I feel that there is definitely more to Ashton that isn't shown.

But hey, I guess it's not my problem to worry about seeing as I only talked to this guy like twice.

And probably will be only twice because I doubt we will ever have an actual conversation again.

"Why do you care so much anyways?" Gianna asks interrupting my thoughts when we turn the last corner to our classroom.

"Just wondering."

Of course I'm wondering, I have been in this school for what? Not even two full days of school? More stuff has happened than a years worth at my old school in South Carolina. Every day was exactly the same, nothing interesting really happened.

We sit down in class and wait for further instruction by the teacher.

As I am looking around the classroom, I can now only detect about six of the students out of the twenty four are juniors while the others are seniors.

I like to picture each grade into 3 groups. The advanced, middle, and the ones below. The advanced are usually put in the classes with the year above.

Which is the middle of the grade above.

The advanced who are seniors have their own class.

I know, it's a little confusing, but if you don't understand it's okay.

So the seniors in this class are average.

But don't be mistaken, the lack of homework they do is shown.

You pick up these kinds of things from experience.

"Okay everyone, I want you to pass up your homework." Everyone did except for like 5 kids.

This was the homework where we just had to write smallish paragraphs on different math definitions.

I have to turn in the wisdom essay to my English class, which is last period.

That sadly means I have to wait a whole school day before ELA class.

The thing that sucks is the fact that it's actually my favorite class.

Ever since I was little, I've always just enjoyed the class.

What can I say?

I like reading.

I don't mind writing.

And presenting...

Actually I don't want to talk about that.

But the absolute worst part of my day would have to be gym class.

Which is literally, the worst thing that was probably ever invented...

Making kids exercise against their will...

How rude!!!

Even though we didn't really do much yesterday because the main gym teacher wasn't there and the sub didn't really know what to do so everyone just went to the library, I still hated it.

But the bad part is, it's the only class that I don't have with Gianna, the only person who probably wants to be my friend out of the whole school.

Talk about cliques.

Stupid high school that acts like they are in high school musical...

Back at my old school, it wasn't really like that.

Sure, you had your popular kids and all, but their wasn't a lot of noticeable cliques.

Huh, maybe this is just a California thing.

But I wonder if Gianna had any friends before I moved here.

I don't ask her because I don't want to come off rude and judgmental...

I just would feel really bad if that was the case.

I look up at the clock on the wall, sighing as I look around the classroom, seeing a few kids talking to one another while the teacher tried to start off the lesson.

I've always been good at math, but it really just bores me to death.

I used to like it when I was little, but as soon as letters were involved, I was over it.

Resting the side of my face on the palm of my hand, I force myself to listen to the teacher, twirling the pencil in my hand as I wait for this class to finally be over.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Walking in the hallway with Gianna by my side, the only thing that people were talking about was the fight.
'Did you see the fight?'
'Who got Suspended?'
'Ashton is so hot'
'Dude it was lit'
'Why were they fighting'
'Hah the Principal almost had a panic attack.'
Picture this, but like ten times worse.
No, make that a hundred times worse.
The hallways were so crowded that you basically had to shove people to get through.
"Word goes around fast." Gianna says grabbing her books for her next class.
It only happened yesterday and probably the whole district knows by now.
"Yeah, I guess it does" I say grabbing one of her books before she drops it.
