Julie's pov:

Me and the boys all stand in a circle as we wait while coach talks with the announcers.

"This is pissing me off, I'm about to go up there and mess someone's face up." Zander says from me across our little circle.

"As tempted as I am, we have to let coach talk to them first." Ashton says right next to me as he crosses his arms over his chest.

"I didn't even see one single person with drugs on our team." Luke says squinting his eyes and looking over at the rest of their team who where silently sitting in the stands watching eagerly as coach talks while throwing his hands up in the air.

It's been over twenty minutes and nothing has been clarified yet.

When the announcement was first made, the crowd cried out immediately.

"I didn't know a whole team could get disqualified because of one person." Damien says from beside me.

"Well, it depends. If it was a little tournament and it was for sure that it was only one person, then he would just not participate, get suspended, or get kicked off the team." Ashton says.

"But why is the whole team getting disqualified?" Damien asks.

"They don't know who exactly brought the drugs. In this case, they might think it was the whole entire team." Ashton says looking back at coach. He continues, "That's why coach is fighting back, we technically didn't get disqualified yet, they can't do that until they do a check."

"A check?" I question.

They all look at me, "That means they basically will be going through all our stuff trying to find any trace of drugs." Jake answers my question.

"Why do they even think someone brought drugs in the first place?" Luke asks, but Zander didn't hesitate to answer.

"Because I bet they had something to do with it." He nods his head behind me and we all glance at the other team.

They were all huddled up in a group talking among one another in low whispers.

"Everyone please listen up!!" I hear the announcer speak out.

I watch as the whole crowd grows silent eagerly waiting for what he had to say.

"We will search each and everyone's bags," The announcer says, "including the other team. No one leaves here until this situation is handled properly."

Suddenly, the front door of the room slams open and four policeman walk in.

My eyes go wide as I watch as they bring with them two of those drug sniffing dogs.

I don't know why but I have always wanted to have one of them.

What?

Wouldn't it be so cool to have a police dog?

"Holy shit." Zander mumbles under his breath watching as they make their way over to the row of bags lined up against the wall.

I feel a squeeze to my hand and I look over to see Ashton looking down at me.

I give him a questionable look but he doesn't say or do anything as he looks back up at them.

He's holding my hand.

I blush as I try not to make a big deal out of it.

Oh you know, just the boy I have feelings for is holding my hand.

Not freaking out or anything.

Nope.

Not at all.

"Uhm. I'm getting food." I say out of nowhere.

The boys look at me with amused faces, "Now?" Jake says laughing at my awful timing.

Okay, so not the best time.

They are looking for drugs and I am thinking about food.

But come on, I am like the worst stress eater on the planet.

I feel stress, I eat.

"I'll come with." Damien says.

Ashton lets go of my hand as me and Damien go up to the rather, longer line of people waiting to get food.

As we make our way to the back of the line, Damien lifts an eyebrow at me.

I tried to ignore it, but every time I would glance at him, he would do it again.

And again.

And again.

And again!!!

"What?!!"

"Hmm nothing." Damien says smiling to himself walking forward in the line.

"No tell me." I demand as I try to get him to look at me.

"I have no idea what you're talking about." He says still trying to hide is smile.

"Damien!!" I whine.

"I didn't want to point this out but, you like Ashton don't you?"

"Are you serious!" I cover my eyes with the back of my hand.

First Zander now Damien?!

Ughh.

And I being that obvious??!

He laughs at my expression, which makes me remove the back of my hand from my eyes.

"How could you tell?"

He didn't hesitate to answer. "Well, I started to assume things on Tuesday."

Tuesday? But why Tuesday-..

Oh. My. Gosh.

The day after the dinner at my house where Ashton came into my room.

Where we almost kissed.

Damien, still laughing at my expression, pushes me a little forward in the line.

In attempt to distract myself from this embarrassing conversation, I look over at the policeman who were first inspecting the other teams.

"Can I tell you a secret?" Damien asks, his voice now serious.

I nod at him signaling him that he can.

"Ashton... well, he has always been there for me. And although it may seem that he just sees you as a friend, it's more than that. Julie, he really cares about you a lot." He says.

I am at a loss of words. "A lot?" I ask.

"A lot." He says.

I look down at Ashton from the top of the stands where the concession was to see him already looking up at me.

I give him a small smile to which he grins back.

I feel a tap on my shoulder and I look up to see the cashier lady annoyingly looking at me while tapping her finger against the counter.

"May I help you?" She says in a bored tone.

I pause for a moment. "Can I have," I look over at Damien, "two bags of potato chips." She nods her head while I pay.

Once I get the two bags, I hand one to Damien.

His hesitatingly takes it. "Are you sure? I can pay you back." But I shush him.

"Damien, please just eat it." I laugh out.

We start to head down to the boys but Damien stops me.

"Wait, follow me." He says.

I nod my head as he leads me to an empty spot in the stands.

It was right above where the other team was.

He puts a finger over his mouth signaling me to be quiet as we listen in on two guys talking to each other.

I couldn't make out all the words.

Only blue back.

What in the world is a blue back?

I give Damien a questionable look but he only shrugs his shoulders in response.

I look around the room but I don't see anything.

I once again meet eyes with Ashton from across the box and he mouths something.

I move my head to the side telling him I didn't understand what he was saying.

'What are you doing?' I see him mouth again slowly.

I shrug my shoulders at him like Damien previously did to me.

We start to walk back to the boys.

"Blue back?" Damien whispers to me.

"I have no idea what that means." I whisper back to him.

I look back at the rival team who were all engaged in conversation.

Except one.

He was staring off to somewhere opposite from us in the stands.

I follow his gaze to an older guy in the stands.

But there was something odd about him.

Sitting next to him was a cane and a bright blue bag.

Wait.

The guy didn't say blue back.. he said..

"Damien, blue bag. He didn't say blue back, he said blue bag." I whisper loudly to him.

Damien's eyes go wide as I point to the older man with the blue bag right beside him.

Instead of walking over to the boys, me and Damien change direction walking over to the older man.

When I am a little closer, I realize that the bag has a symbol of the other teams logo.

It wasn't just a bag, it was a boxing bag.

"Excuse me." I say walking up to the older man.

His eyes go wide.

Guilty, definitely guilty.

Damien starts talking, "I believe you have one of the boxing bags, it's going to need checked." He says attempting to grab the bag.

But the older man pushes it away out of his reach.

"This isn't yours young man." He says holding the bag with both of his arms.

"If you don't hand over the bag, we won't hesitate to report you." Damien says crossing his arms over his chest.

This was the first time I have ever seen him like this.

He wasn't the shy kid right now, he wasn't letting anyone, especially this old man drag him down.

The old man hesitatingly hands over the bag, but I watch as he secretly tries to open a zipper near the front.

But he didn't get to finish because Damien ripped the bag away from him.

We run down to where the investigations were happening.

I look over to see the rival team staring at the bag wide eyed.

Coach walks up to me, "Where did you get this? All the other teams bags were checked." He asks.

"We think that they were trying to hide this bag." Damien says.

A police man walks over and takes the bag out of my arms.

He brings one of the dogs over.

The whole crowd grows even more silent as we wait for the dog to sniff out the bag.

Not a second later.. the dog started making a loud barking sound.

The police man digs in the bag and pulls out a small bag of steroids.

The whole crowd starts talking all at once.

Coach nods at me and Damien and smiles.

But the moment was short lived because the second dog started barking also.

We look over to the row of bags to see that the dog was barking at one of the boys on Ashton's teams bag.

Another police officer walks over and pulls out another bag of steroids.

It wasn't just their team, someone on Ashton's team brought steroids also.

But it couldn't be, the bags looked identical... too identical.

I feel a presence behind me and I look over to see Ashton looking at the bag with anger.

I look over at coach as he picks up the bag and inspects it.

"This isn't our bag." Coach says. He hands it over to the announcer.

"What does he mean?" I whisper to Ashton.

"Every team member has a bag with their logo on it. They can only bring these bags into the arena if the label is on it." He says.

I nod my head.

Then how did it get here in the first place?

"It seems that the home team is not being disqualified, for the other team has been using steroids." The announcer says.

He than looks at the bag in coaches hand. His eyes squint and he walks over to the bag.

It was just a smile black bag, except one little key difference.

It had a blue string attached to it.

It was almost like a piece of hair, hardly detectable.

The announcer picks it up. It was the same exact color as the other teams uniform.

"Not only is the other team getting disqualified for the use of drugs, but also for fraud." He says.

Our whole side of the arena stands up and cheers.

I look over at the boys to see them all smiling and laughing as they race over to the trophy sitting on the table.

I was happy.

Well, again.

I smile and gather my things together.

I start to walk up the stairs to leave but I feel someone grab my arm.

I turn around to face Ashton with a confused look on his face.

"Where are you going?" He asks.

"Uh, home?" I say, well more as a question.

"Do you have a ride?"

"I was just going to call my mom-.." but next thing I know, my phone is being swiped out of my hand.

I look over at Ashton with a glare.

"What was that for?" I ask trying to grab my phone back from him.

He only holds it farther and farther away the closer I get.

"Nope, you said that I'm stuck with you, so guess who's driving you home?" He says with a smirk on his face.

I groan. "I knew you would use that against me." I say closing my eyes.

His smirk grows wider. "Well, I want food, so wait here and let me get my stuff." He says.

I just stand there shocked as he throws me my phone and jogs over to his bag.

Once he gets everything, we say bye to the boys and we head into his car.

I just sit there silently as he takes us somewhere.

"Where are we going?" I ask.

"You'll find out soon. Be patient." He says keeping his eyes on the road.

I lean back in my seat and stare out the window.

"You know, it was pretty cool what you did back there." I hear Ashton say.

"Did what?" I ask.

"You know, find out the other team were the ones who had the drugs all along."

"No, that was all Damien. You know, he's a great kid."

"Yeah he is."

"I just hope he doesn't turn out like you." I say in horror.

"What is that suppose to mean!!" Ashton says looking at me at a red light.

I try to look away from him.

"Uh.. oh.. look at that.. grass."

"Mhm, I'm not that bad." Ashton says keeping his eyes on me.

I only laugh in response. "If you say so..." I smile as he glares at me.

"Please, coming from the one who rolled across her bedroom floor. Or did you forget?" Ashton says smiling at me.

I only blush in response. "Please don't bring that up." I cringe covering my face with my hands.

"Or the time when-.." he starts to say but I quickly cover my hand over his mouth.

"Don't you dare finish that sentence."

"Only if you say please." He mumbles under my hand.

"No."

"Yes." He says removing my hand.

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"Yes."

"I am not doing this again." I say to Ashton who was smiling.

The green light comes on and he looks back at the road ahead.

"You know you missed me." He says throwing me a wink.

I quickly turn towards the window.

Because he was right, I did miss him.

A lot.

Hope you guys enjoyed this chapter!!
