"Vibes I want to keep forever."

//

Roseanne's P.O.V

* * *

My heart is beating faster than a cheetah running after its prey.

My mouth is slightly open from shock and half arousal.

He smells yummy.

I opened the door fast out of pure excitement as I heard his voice through the door.

The different vibes radiating from his body as the door opened and the cool air surrounding us was jaw-dropping.

Even though I couldn't see him, I just knew he looks amazing.

I just hope he thinks I look amazing.

With all my thoughts just swirling in my head, I suck in my stomach a little hoping he doesn't notice. My stomach contracts painfully and my 'skinny slim in a couple of minutes' plan is off, just like that.

"You look absolutely breathtaking." Ace said, his compliment bringing me out of my thoughts.

Oh, Lord. If I was a little bit lighter, I would look like a tomato.

"Her natural beauty and my fashion sense where can anything go wrong." Noah lightly mocks. His left elbow jabbing me every five seconds like he does when he's excited.

All the breath in my body completely leaves me when I hear Ace laughing at Noah's remark.

How can a laugh sound so fine?

My mind again is doing what it does best, making me space out in front of important people.

Wow, I just labeled, Ace, as an important person. Even if it's only been a few times that we have met or even talked for that matter. Either way, he's becoming someone special to his family and I don't think that's changing anytime soon.

"Earth to my clumsy little rose." Ace said, lightly tapping the bridge of my nose to drag me out of my thoughts. "Are you ready to go?"

I nod my head, knowing that with how nervous I am, no words would come out. But he doesn't seem to mind because all he does is chuckle at my non-verbal response.

"Bye, you guys. Have fun." Noah said. Fake crying as Ace leads me out of the door as a gentleman should.

I hear loud running behind us and the slam of the house door, as Ace opens the passenger door for me and I get in and close the door as Ace runs to the driver's side, I know Noah followed us out.

"Don't do what I wouldn't do." Noah giggles, as he leans on the side of the car that I'm in. His minty breath hitting me in the face with each word of his. "Also I want details when you get back. Drive safe, kids."

"You'll be the first to know everything," I grumble, feeling slightly embarrassed about what Noah is insinuating.

The answer seemed to not have satisfied him. Because he's still standing here. So I gave him another answer. "I promise," I said, sticking my pinky finger out of the car window.

He locks pinky fingers with me.

I smile as I hear his feet hitting the ragged rocks in our driveway as he runs back inside the house.

With all this running he's doing, I hope he doesn't have an asthma attack.

As soon as I hear the front door of the house slam shut, I look towards Ace. I can tell he's looking at me. He was looking at me the whole time, during my interaction with Noah.

His eyes bore into my body like a fried jellyfish.

I should be a poet.

"If you think I look good, I can't wait till you meet the person responsible for all of this, heavenly beauty," I said, smiling in his direction but averting my eyes away from him.

"Well, I can't wait for that day." Ace said, his voice coming out of his mouth like butter.

"My relationship with my mom isn't the best. But she's my mom. Her attitude towards me now doesn't tear from the fact that she's beautiful. She's always been beautiful to me. Even though after I lost my eyesight, I couldn't see her anymore, I always imagined her as this kind of eternal beauty." I said, smiling for no reason. "She comes back every 3 to 5 months to do her 'kid check-up' and leave again. So you might be seeing her soon, it's hitting the 4 months line."

As I stop my rambling, I realize that I'm just talking away and the car still hasn't moved. I also realize that during my 'sad storytelling', I've been looking in his direction and smiling like an idiot.

I'm so embarrassed that I attempt to turn my body more towards the window, so he doesn't see my face.

It's almost like he read my mind because before I could even move a muscle, he grabs my chin.

I feel his hand lightly caress my face. Since this is technically our second date, I'll let the touching slide. Plus he's taking me dancing and paying for my dinner later. He's not getting any butt tonight, so I'll let him get as many brownie points as he needs.

I wonder if my eyes are dull-looking.

"Your eyes are so bright." Ace said, in awe. "They are always so bright."

Okay, I'm convinced, he's a mind reader.

As he stares at me, he pulls away fast like he just remembered something. The question he asks me next has me internally dying from laughter. "You forgot to bring your cane. Do you want me to go get it?"

A snort comes out of my mouth before I can stop it, as I imagine his confused face. I'm about to mess him up mentally with this response. He is going to think twice before asking me anything like this again. "I'm pretty sure I can make it around town this one time without my cane," I stated.

"I didn't mean it that way." He said, stuttering a bit on the last word. All my laughter tries to not boil to the surface as I send him a gentle smile. "I'm sorry if I offended you. I -" He starts, but I interrupt.

"Oh gosh, stop it. Your heart was in the right place." I said, grabbing his hand and squeezing it gently. "I'm more independent than most people with 20/20 vision. I'm not meaning to brag but I'm pretty badass." Using the hand that's not holding his and flipping a piece of my hair back. "I don't always need my cane. I take it with me sometimes as a precaution."

Especially when I go to the mall, it makes for a good weapon. But I won't tell him that just yet.

"Mmhmm," Ace responded. His voice sounded deeper than ever before. "Your eyes are laughing at me." He states, his voice playful.

"What?" I giggle, in confusion.

"When you said 'oh gosh stop it' ", He said, bringing his voice to a higher pitch to match my tone. "Your eyes twinkled in a way that looked like they were laughing at me."

I smile at his observation skills. "I admit I was pretty amused by you."

"Were you now." He said, more to himself than me, but we both laugh nonetheless.

He lets out a loud fake sigh as he turns the key in the car and the engine starts up.

"Well, my love. We have a full day of dancing ahead. So shall we leave, my lady?" He said, with a fake British accent.

"We shall," I said, in a British accent.  Making sure I match his energy.

"Before we go, buckle up your seat belt. I can't have my future wife unprotected. Can I?" He said.

I rush to fasten up my seat belt. "No, I guess not," I said, smiling.

Then I freeze to fully take in what he said.

He said 'my future wife'. As in me. Well, I'm the only one in the car. Unless there is someone else in this car.

I stop moving and get real quiet as I listen for any sneaky link he may have hiding in the trunk of his car.

Ace most of noticed my overthinking as he chuckles and mumbles 'cute' under his breath. He removes his hand from holding mine as I feel the car slowly back up and begin to take off.

Nothing is on my mind but the thought of potentially being his future wife.

I mean that's what he said.
