Chapter 8: “We Are Partners,”

"where were you?" Brandon asked me as I took out my books from my locker.

"I was locked in the locker room," I said.

"wait what? were you alone?" he asked.

"no, I was stuck there with Lilly,"

"oh? Lilly you said?" Brandon smirked.

"her name is belle," I said.

"but you call her Lilly,"

"and you call her belle,"

"you can call her Lilly and I can't?"

"exactly" I said as I closed my locker and walked to my next class.

"well" he said, waiting for an answer.

"well what?"

"anything happened between you two?" Brandon asked me.

"yeah-" Brandon cut me off.

"oh my god, did you kiss each other,"

'what the fuck'

"no,"

"oh then what happened,"

"if you let me continue, I would have told you,"

"well continue now," he said excitedly.

"we solved our problem,"

"you have many problems with each other, which one?"

"the misunderstanding problem,"

"oh you mean when you thought she was a brat while she thought you were a 'kid killing monster' misunderstanding problem?"

"yes" I said as I entered the class and looked around.

"well I think you solved it on your side only," Brandon said as he looked at Lilly, who was glaring at me, still wearing my jacket.

'she probably thought it was the girl's jacket'

"wait" Brandon grabbed my arm, stopping me from going to my seat.

"is that your jacket?" Brandon asked me.

"yes it is,"

"oh my god oh my god this is finally happening after like 10 years,"

"what is happening?" I asked him.

"my ship is sailing step by step,"

'what ship?'

"I want to kill you,"

"and I want to marry belle,"

"what did you just say?" I asked him.

"you heard me" he sat in front of me and turned.

"you like her?" I whispered to Brandon as Lilly was coming closer to her desk, which is next to mine.

"no I just wanted to see your reaction," he said, laughed and turned around.

"hey, belle" Brandon said to Lilly.

"hey, Brandon" she smiled at him and sat next to me.

after a few minutes the teacher came and started her lesson.

"now as you all know we have a new project," the teacher turned around from the board to see the class.

"you can choose your partner," the class cheered.

"or I can choose them for you, what do you say?" she asked.

"we will choose," the class responded.

"Brandon," I poked his back.

"yes?" he turned and asked.

"lets be partners,"

"you said you wanted to kill me. I'm not taking my chances with you."

'that bitch'

"fine I won't kill you,"

"as if that's any better," Brandon said as he scoffed and turned back around.

'traitor'

"want to be partners?" Rebecca asked me.

'God no'

Rebecca Mason is the most annoying and clingy girl I know. every time there's a project she always wants to be partners but km always partnered with Lilly.

She always follows me and sits next to me at lunch and everywhere I go. at this point I'm thanking the teachers that I'm sitting with Lilly and not her.

"I got a partner already," I said.

"oh really? who?" she asked.

'uh fuck'

"Lilly" I put my arm around Lilly who looked at me in surprise.

"what?"

"you are partner with Alex?" Rebecca asked Lilly.

"yes I'm" Lilly smiled and patted my arm around her shoulder.

"oh alright" Rebecca said and turned to me "maybe next time we can be partners" she said and winked.

after she left Lilly turned to me and said "we will not be partners I only said that to save your ass from her,you owe me,"

"as If I want to be partners with you,"

"hey belle" harry came and said to Lilly.

"oh hey Harry," she said back.

"want to be partners?" Harry asked her.

"oh that's too late I'm already with uh," Lilly said.

"we are partners," I said to Harry.

"yeah I'm partner with Ace,"

"who's Ace?" Harry asked her.

'me you dumb shit'

"I mean Alex,"

"oh I thought you said Ace,"

"she calls me Ace," I said.

'and I call her Lilly'
'Just like the flower'

"well do you want to hang out tomorrow?,"

"sorry to bother you, but tomorrow we're going to do the project together, right Lilly?" I said to Brandon.

'Now i dont owe her anything'

"yeah I'm busy tomorrow maybe sone other day?" she said.

"sure" harry said, and he went back to his seat.

"guess we are partners now," I said.

"thank you for that," Lilly said as she looked at me.

"it's alright id rather be partners with you rather than Rebecca,"

"same, id rather your dumb ass over harry any day" she said as she laughed and copied the notes for the project in her little book.

'any day?'

after a few minutes of writing I hear huffing from my side I looked over to Lilly's side to see her fanning herself.

"God, its hot in here. I wish I had a hair tie now," she whispered to herself.

she grabbed a pencil and wrapped her hair with it, keeping it in place.

'how did she do that?'

"what are you looking at?" she said as she looked in my direction.

"I'm looking at a miserable girl trying to tie her hair up,"

"well you would have been helpful if you have a hair tie."

"why would I have a hair tie?" I asked her.

"nevermind you're not anyone that matters to me anyway ill just take mine from Flynn,"

"why do you have yours with Flynn?"

"he wears it as a bracelet so when I needed it, it's there," she said.

'oh',
'weird'

"maybe you should learn for your future girlfriend or wife," she said as she continued to write down.

'so I have to have a hair tie around my hand?'
'no not happening in a million years'

LATER

I was at my locker when Lilly came and said "I didnt know that it was your jacket before but" she took out my jacket from her backpack.

"heres your jacket I washed it."

"thank you" I took it and put it in my locker.

"wait did you know why the door was locked?"

"a girl was helping her friend with her relationship,"

"oh weird," she walked away and Brandon comes.

"was that your belle?"

"yeah that was Lilly,"

"wait,"

"what?" I asked confused.

"you didnt argue about the ,"your". "Brandon winked.

'huh?'
'what your?'

" what do you mean? ,"

" I said ,"was that your belle" and you said yes"

"God no. I would never date her I hate hate her, remember?"

"you didnt hate her when you said you are partners. twice," Brandon smirked.

"whatever just don't ever think that we will date, like ever." I said and walked away after Brandon rolled his eyes.

HOME

"tomorrow we are going to the King's," my mom said as she ate.

'I'd rather die'

"why?" I asked.

"why not?" my mom said.

"what time are we going?" my dad asked.

"eight pm,"

"only us or their friends too?" I asked her.

"Annie, Noah, Mason, Ben, Emma, Cara, Ace and Adam are coming," my mom said.

"oh alright" my dad said.

"oh and Ace and Adam's son, Dylan, is also coming from collage,"

'I hate him'
'he is absolutely annoying'

Dylan is the most annoying person ever since I came here, he threats me to stay away from Lilly.

Like who even is he to talk to me about Lilly, he is not her boyfriend or anything.
he acts like a jealous boyfriend, he is not even dating Lilly.

TOMORROW (spare me kiddos their lives are as boring as ours)

it was seven pm and I was getting ready for the dinner with the kings.

"Alex, hurry" my mom yelled from downstairs.

"wait a bit" I wore my shirt and went down.

"you took a while to get ready," my dad said.

"sorry" I said as I went out of my house.

We arrived at the king's house and when we entered there were a lot of people. including Dylan.

"oh hello there" Mrs. king smiled and went with my mom to the back yard.

I walked in side the house and sat in the living room with Lilly, Ayla, Ella, Kai, Dylan, Flynn and Cameron.

I'm friends with Camerón and Ella, only.

They are always so awkward I looked at everyone sitting. Ayla and Camerón next to each other, Cameron whispering in ayla's ear as she blushes.

'there's something going on here'

"hey Alexander," Flynn greeted me as he smiled.

"hi Flynn,"

"want some chips?" he asked me as he offered me some chips.

"what flavor?"

"cheese" he said as I took some.

'Yum'

"oh hey Alex," Dylan said who is sitting between Lilly and Ella.

"hey Dylan,"

"so any updates on you and my sweet little belle,"

'his? since when'

"no not really any girl in college got your heart?" I asked him.

"my heart is already taken by someone,"

"oh?" Lilly said.

"who?" Ella asked Dylan who just winked and smirked.

"actually Belle is talking with a boy," Flynn said.

"what boy?" Dylan asked.

"Harry O'connor," Lilly said.

"that fucker?" Dylan asked Lilly, who nodded.

"are you dumb?" he asked her.

"what why?" Lilly sat straight, making Dylan's arm fall down.

"I'd rather you dating Alexander then that dickhead,"

'I'd rather kill myself'

"what the fuck do I have to do with this?" I asked.

"I don't even like Dylan," Lilly said.

"stay away from him,"

'guess we both agree on something'

"can you stop talking about him?" Ayla said.

"lets talk about something else," Cameron said.

"dylan's love life," Flynn said as he smirked.

"ooh" Ella said.

"who is the lucky girl or boy we don't judge here,"

"it's a girl from college"

"what's her name" Lilly asked.

"Josie,"

"when can we meet her?" Ayla said.

"not anytime soon,"

"oh why?" Ella said.

"she hates me,"

"damn tough love," Cameron said

"reminds me of something," Ayla said.

"Guys, dinner is ready," Mrs. King yelled from the backyard.

we all stood up and went out to see a huge table with lots of food.

"I will faint" Ayla said.

'me too'

I sat down between Lilly and Camerón, in front of me was Dylan.

the dinner was not awkward at all actually it was fun throughout the dinner me and Lilly kept punching each other under the table and trying to embarrass each other.

"its so funny when I put a spider in Lilly's bathroom," I said as they all laughed and talked about how her scream was loud.

I received a pinch and a small glare from Lilly.

"oh lets not talk about his high pitch scream when I put a real rat in his room. God, that day was the highlight of my entire year," she said, making them laugh again.

'that bitch'

I saw mom and Mrs. king whispering to each other and giggling while looking at us.

'what are they talking about?'

from all their whispering I heard "Lilly", "Alex", "Couple".

'that is scary'
'we don't want them to ship us too we already have the entire school'

"did you hear them" Lilly whispered to me as she inched closer.

"I did, and I don't like it," I whispered back

"if they think about shipping us together I will off myself," Lilly whispered.

"you and me both,"

"wait no they will think about the 'till death do us apart' thing," Lilly whispered with a terrified look on her face.

"lets just ignore them," I whispered.

she nodded and returned to her food chatting with her friends as much as possible to show that we are not interested in each other.
