I sat on his bed looking around his room. It definitely screams biker bachelor. He only had one real personal touch and that was his two guitars. One was electric and one was acoustic. I kicked my shoes off and crawled under the covers, smiling softly at the smell of his cologne before I fell asleep.

When I woke up someone was coming in. I rolled over I was shocked to see Talon. He smiled softly, "You slept all day and night yesterday." I grabbed my phone and saw he was right. It felt like I had just recently left the hospital. It was morning, the next day. I sat up and rubbed my eyes, "How do you feel?" He sat on the bed, "Like crap. I have a thirty minute wait for my meds to be filled and instead of waiting around I thought I'd come see you."

I smiled softly, and leaned on his good shoulder. He kissed the top of my head. There was a knock and I looked up and saw Spider holding Shane. Shane was wearing a pair of jeans, a white tshirt, a leather jacket, and a pair of black boots. His brown hair was wet and spikey. "What did you do to my son," I asked with a giggle. "I made him look awesome," Spider declared while handing him to me.

"He looks like you gave him a tongue bath," Talon said with a chuckle. Spider rolled his eyes, "Its just water." "We hope," Talon whispered and I couldn't help but laugh. Spider scoffed, "I'm not some animal." He then smirked, "At least not in that kind of way." It was mine and Talon's turn to roll our eyes. Spider chuckled as he left the room.

I laid Shane on the bed, and Talon poked his stomach, "Dont listen to Spider, he's a bad influence. Hopefully you didnt spend too much time with him." I laughed as I shook my head, "He's not that bad." Talon chuckled, "I know but I dont want Shane to like him more than me." I laughed again, "That will never happen."

"So I was thinking, that you and I should go out and get something to eat," He suggested. My stomach growled at the idea of food. "You just got out of the hospital and doctor said you should rest and relax." "Taking you both out is relaxing and resting," He told me. "At least that's how I rest and relax." I studied him with a raised eyebrow. I sighed, knowing he wont give up, "Okay, but first I need to go home for a shower and a change of clothes." He smiled brightly, "That I can do, but first let me take a shower and change." He kissed my cheek before grabbing some clothes and going into his bathroom."

I was playing peek-a-boo with Shane when there was a knock on the door. "Its open," I said. Connie and Warden then came in. I had met Warden when I first got here. He was a good man and his wife was such a wonderful woman. Connie looked at Shane's outfit confused. "Spider dressed him," I explained to her. "I leave him with the child for only a couple of hours," She said. Warden chuckled, "That's all that Spider needs." Connie smiled then looked at me, "How are you doing honey?" "I'm doing much better. I didn't mean to sleep for so long though, I'm sorry about that," I told her. She waved a hand, dismissing my apology, "Honey, you needed it. You already dont get much sleep and pulled a full twenty four hours worrying about Talon, its understandable. Had you come down, I would've sent you back to bed."

Talon came out of the bathroom freshly showered and shaved. "How are you doing Talon," Connie asked him. "Good now that I'm home," He told her. "So where are you going," she asked, seeing that he's wearing jeans instead of sweats, like most people who are resting wear. "I have a woman to take home so she can shower and change her clothes, and then we're going out to eat," Talon said while throwing his dirty clothes in the hamper.

"That's not resting," she told him, hands on her hips. I nodded, "Thats what I said." Warden chuckled, "The man has a woman and a son, there is no such thing as resting." Talon nodded, "Exactly. I have to make sure they're taken care of and happy." Connie and I shared a look then sighed in unison. Stubborn bikers.

Overnight the temperature dropped so I put on one of Talon's hoodies and it went to my knees. It was super soft on the inside and I liked that it swallowed me. He wasn't getting it back. He probably realized that too when he saw my smile after I put it on.

I put Shane in the carseat and went to pick it up but Talon beat me to it, using his good arm. I glared as he made his way to his truck, "That's not resting!" Of course, he didn't listen to me. Stubborn biker. I found the diaper bag next to a bunch of shopping bags filled with toys and clothes, with notes saying For Shane. I turned to Connie and Spider and they just smiled while Warden chuckled. "Get used to it Iris." I grabbed them and the diaper bag and went to Talon's truck and saw he was waiting by the passenger door. He chuckled, "I should've warned you." "That would've been nice," I said with a soft laugh as I put them in the backseat before getting in the passenger seat.

He got in the driver and pulled out. "Its been awhile since a little one has been around. Even then, many of the bikers who have kids tend to keep them away, trying to keep the two lives separated," He explained to me. "You only ever really see their kids and wives during the holidays. Connie and Warden dont like they separate their lives like that, but at the same time, it's understandable. The other night is a great example of why they keep the two apart. At the same time though, what happened is exactly why they shouldn't. We help each other in times of need and it's hard to be there for people you want to keep away."

I then looked at me when we stopped at a light, "But, if you want me to separate the two, then I will." My heart skipped a beat at his offer. It was a nice one but it was one I was gonna turn down, "They're your family Talon, I'm not gonna make you separate yourself like that. I want you and your life, as a whole. I don't entirely understand biker politics, but one thing I know is that family is everything. When Spider called me, he knew I would want to be there so he sent Connie, a woman I had never met, to watched Shane. Many might have seen me as crazy, but I knew she was your family and I could trust her." I smiled, "I want to get to know them, and have them get to know me and Shane."

He smiled and went back to paying attention when the light turned green.

Talon's POV

I waited at the bottom of the stairs for Iris. She had finished showering and changing. She came down in a pair of jeans that weren't the fashionable kind, her hair was blown dried but not styled, her face was free of make up, and she wore my hoodie that swallowed her. She looked so beautiful. She smiled as she put her hair in a messy bun before grabbing her sunglasses off the table by the door. "Ready," she asked me. I nodded and grabbed Shane's carseat, much to her protest. I chuckled as she followed me. "Stubborn biker," she muttered under her breath as she locked the front door.

After stopping to get my medication, I took them to a diner. I pulled a chair to the booth and sat the carseat in so we could see him. "If you're hurting too much, I can handle carrying him," she told me. I smiled softly, "I'm fine Iris, really." She sighed and looked at me with sad eyes, "You just got out of the hospital. I had been so scared you weren't going to make it." Her eyes filled with tears, "We almost lost you." I took her hand, "I know Iris. Before I blacked out, my last thought was that you were going to kill me for getting hurt. That you were going to kill me because I wasn't going to keep my word and go back to you safe and sound." She shook her head, "Yeah I was mad it happened, but I also know it wasn't your fault. It was theirs. Of course now my worry for you will be worse, but its okay."

I ran my thumb over her knuckles, "I promise I will try to make you worry as little as possible." She smiled softly, "That will be very much appreciated." I chuckled softly. After that our conversation turned lighter.

"What are your plans after work tomorrow," I asked her. "I'm going to go pick my costume up," she told me. "And no you can't see it." "Halloween is just two days away, and you're just now getting your costume," I asked her. She laughed and shook her head, "I ordered it shortly after you had left. I used the money I had set aside for Shane's clothes and costume so I could also take part in the fun of dressing up. It's been years since I dressed up for Halloween." I looked at her, "You could've just asked me, I would've gotten you one." She raised an eyebrow, "You're not supposed to know what it is. Plus you've spent enough on me." I shook my head, "There's no such thing." She crossed her arms, "Yes there is. Heck, ever since we got together I haven't even paid for anything when you're around." I know from the way the brothers complain about their women's spending habits this wasn't normal. This told me so easily about how that shit head treated her.

"Iris, stop," I told her. "I enjoy spending money on you and Shane." She sighed as she looked down her arms dropping, "Its just, what if you end up leaving me and regret it?" And there it was, her insecurities. I reached across the table and caressed her cheek, causing her to look up at me, "Iris, I'm not going anywhere. You're my woman, and Shane is my boy. Whether you like it or not, you're both stuck with me. And I'm going to enjoy spending every penny I have on the two of you." She smiled softly and turned her face so she kissed my palm. I smiled, "Now I don't want to hear anymore about me spending money on you. You're just gonna have to suck it up and deal with it." She then sighed, "Okay, I'll drop it." I could tell there was a 'for now' at the end of that statement, but for now I was gonna enjoy the victory, even if it's only shortly lived.
