Bonus chapter

|The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.|

Nina's pov:

It's been 5 years since the twins were born and a lot happened. The craziest thing that happened was that all our friends got married and have their own kids.

Landon and Amy got married and have 2 boys; Bryan who was 5 years old and Cade who was 4 years old. The next couple that got married was, Blake and Eva. They have one boy, Trey who was also 5 years old and a girl, Lydia who was 4 years old. Unfortunately, Colton and Melanie didn't work out. However, Colton met Casey, who was now his wife and they both have twins, Garett and Prescott. They were both 4 years old.

We were lucky that our kids were almost the same age and they were best friends just like how we were. They always play together, the boys were always protective of the girls.

We all got busy with works and with the kids. Today was Adrian's 23 birthday and we invited everyone over. Unfortunately, my mom and Adrian's dad couldn't make it due to work.

I feel a small hand on my cheek and I looked down to see Paigne, my 3 years old daughter smiling at me. She was done drinking her milk and as I was caught in my thoughts, I didn't notice it till now.

"You are so full huh?" I asked as I took the feeding bottle away. I made her stand on my laps and started to pamper her with kisses, as she likes it.

"Me too." Elijah pouted looking at me and Paigne. He was laying beside me, watching Captain Marvel.

"You want mommy to kiss you?" I asked and he nodded eagerly.

I chuckled and pulled him closer to me. I kissed his cheeks and his nose, making him giggled.

"Oh my goodness, what's up with all these kisses," Adrian said walking in the room. Savannah was in his arms and she frowned when she noticed her brother on my laps.

"Mommy." Her lips started to tremble as if she was about to cry.

"Why are you crying?" I asked and she jumped out of Adrian's grip and run to me.

"Me too." She murmured and I chuckled. Adrian smiled, shaking his head. He picked Paigne from my laps and Savannah immediately settled herself in my laps. I showered her with kisses and she had a big smile on her face.

"Now, we need to get ready. Your aunts and uncles will be here soon." I said and they nodded.

We walked to their room and went near their closet.

I pick a nice outfit for them and helped them to get ready. I could hear Paigne's loud giggles as Adrian was playing with her in the living room.

They both looked really cute. The theme for tonight was black, gold and white. Adrian bought these outfits for the last week.

"Alright, you are both done. Now I have to get Paigne ready." I said and they nodded. They both ran out of the room and I made my way in the living room. When I reached, I saw Adrian looking at the twins.

"Damn, you two look good." He said making the twin happier.

"It's time for Paigne and me to get ready," I said and he turned toward me.

"I'm really curious to see what you are going to wear." He said and I chuckled. I picked Paigne in my arms and made my way to my room. I choose an outfit for her and got her ready.

When she was done, I let her lay on the bed while I went to get ready.

Once done, I picked Paigne in my arms and walked out. The kids were playing with their legos in the living room and Adrian was nowhere to be seen.

"Where is daddy?" I asked the twins and they shrugged.

"He went upstairs," Elijah said and I frowned.

Maybe he is in his study room.

I put Paigne on the couch and put some pillow around her. I gave her her toys and she started to play. I made my way to the kitchen and looked at the food. They were all ready.

I walked back into the living room and check the decoration.

We already told the twin that they couldn't play or touch the decoration. They both wanted to play with the balloons but when Adrian and I told them to not touch it, they understood.

I checked the cakes on the table and they looked great.

"Damn baby, you look beautiful."

I turned around and saw Adrian standing near the couch.

"You don't look bad yourself," I said and he chuckled. He walked toward me and leaned to kiss me.

"Ewwww!" Both twins screamed and we pulled away.

"I'll get you later." Adrian murmured before kissing my cheeks. He walked back to the twin and pick Elijah in his arm.

The doorbell rang and I walked toward the front door. I opened it and frowned when I saw no one. I looked around and found a box near the 'welcome' rug. I grabbed it and looked at it carefully. There were both mine and Adrian's name on it.

I took it inside and walked to Adrian.

"Who was it?" He asked and I shrugged.

"I have no idea. But they left this." I said and he grabbed the box. He opened it and frowned. He pulled out some pictures.

"That's our pictures and they were taken randomly." He said and I looked at him confused.

The doorbell rang again and this time Adrian walked to the door. He opened it and it was our friends. The kids ran in the living room and hugged the twins and Paigne. I walked to them and hugged them.

"It's been so long," Amy said hugging tightly.

"Yeah and it smells freaking good here," Blake said making us chuckled.

"Like always, you only care about the food." Landon sighed.

"Oh shut up grumpy pants." Blake rolled his eyes.

Adrian put the box in the corner of the room and we both joined over friends for a crazy birthday party. It was really fun.

At midnight they all left. The kids were sleeping and both Adrian and I were on our bed. I cuddled with him, letting sleep took over.

And we completely forgot about the box and the pictures.
