"Is this what your mother taught you?"
He threw the tea cup on the floor and snapped up from his chair. He strode towards me and grabbed my chin in a strong hold.
"Answer me!" he thundered.
"I am sorry. I promise I will not repeat this mistake again," I cried out as my lips trembled.
"Pathetic."
He tilted my head to the side harshly and I didn't dare to make any eye contact. Tears were rolling down my cheeks continuously, no matter how much I tried to control them.
I wanted to scream and hit him but I didn't have any strength left. I felt so weak that I thought I would drop dead any minute. I clutched the chair beside me tightly for support as I felt my legs trembling.
"What did I do to have someone like you as my wife?" he spat and moved to get his coat from the couch.
He threw me a glare and left. The moment he went out of sight, I dropped down on the floor and cried my heart out. It hurt to be insulted every day. I wanted to leave but I didn't know where I would go.
My own husband didn't love me. For him I was nothing but a liability which was forced on him. I meant nothing to him. I never meant anything to anyone. I was just a human shell with a dead soul.
No, human would be a very good term for me. You know what I was? Trash. A gifted trash.
