Yuvaan's POV

It was Reyna's birthday today, and she wasn't even aware of it. She had really become a workaholic; she worked even in the nights and was always busy in one or another thing. But I was able to keep her distracted that way with the help of her friends and prepared for her surprise party.

After I told Mom about my plan, she told me that she would help me and wanted to spend some time with us as it had been really long since she went overseas. Thus, she arrived a few days back and took care of the arrangements in my absence.

I was really excited for the party because I wanted to make Reyna happy - I knew her mood was down regarding her pregnancy. She thought she masked it well, but I was aware of how much sad she was. So, to cheer her up, I invited some special guests to her party.

I hope she likes my surprise.

I completed my work and went to the construction site where Raghuveer's recent project was taking its shape. When I reached the location, I saw Reyna instructing Kunal and other team members about something, while Keerti supervised the work in other area.

I observed my wife, feeling immensely proud of her success. She always thanked me for giving her a chance, but it was all because of her talent and hard work only. It wouldn't be a lie if I said that she was better than me in handling stuff. After feeling satisfied by looking at her happy in her job, I got out of my car and walked towards her.

The employees greeted me, and Reyna raised one of her eyebrows when she noticed me.

"You are smiling a lot nowadays," she commented but grinned when I gave her a tight hug and kissed her forehead.

"The reason is you only," I replied.

"Jeeju!" Keerti yelled and waved her hand at me.

She joined us after completing her work, and we also prepared to leave after sending the workers off. As expected, Reyna was oblivious, and Keerti was doing a good job in keeping her focus on other things by talking about random topics.

Once we reached our home, I told Reyna to rest on the couch while I brought some oil from our room. She thanked me when I massaged her head, earning a teasing smirk from Mom.

"I am so glad to see you both happy," she said.

We smiled at her, and Reyna closed her eyes as my fingers caressed her scalp. We were following this routine since last week after Reyna complained of getting a headache and her shoulder muscles cramping up due to continuous movement during work.

When I made sure that she had fallen half asleep, I motioned to Mom to start the ceremony. I continued my work, while my friends and family ran from one corner to another, trying to keep the small devils quiet.

"Reyna, someone is here to meet you," I said in a low voice.

"Who?" she groaned, telling me to apply more pressure on her arms.

"Why don't you see for yourself? They have something special for you."

Reyna slowly opened her eyes, her face getting brighter as she registered the tiny heads in front of her.

"Happy birthday, Reyna Didi!"

My wife giggled in joy when the toddlers jumped at her and hugged her. They repeated the greeting, making Reyna widen her eyes in realisation.

"I forgot my birthday?" She laughed.

She hugged each of the kids and ruffled their hair before looking at me. I pecked her temple and told her to come with me to the garden. She followed, carrying the smallest kid in her arms, while the others ran ahead of us, joining their troop.

"Oh my god!" Reyna exclaimed when she saw the preparations.

The whole garden was filled with balloons and stuff toys, and kids were running here and there. I wrapped an arm around her shoulders as her eyes misted over with unshed tears.

"Thank you," she whispered.

"Look, we have so many kids," I pointed at the smiling faces in front of her. "Who said you aren't a mother?"

A tear rolled down her cheek, and the toddler in her arms wiped it away and kissed her cheek.

"We love you, Reyna Didi," she said.

Reyna smothered her face with kisses and thanked her for coming to her birthday. She apologized for thinking that she didn't have kids when all of the children from our orphanages were happy to depend on her and loved her.

"Happy birthday, Di," Arman wished as he came from behind.

Reyna turned around and pulled his cheek. After keeping the kid down, both siblings hugged each other, and Arman told her that their parents couldn't make it because of their busy schedule.

Well, I was the one who told them not to come. I didn't want to spoil Reyna's mood.

"It is okay," she said.

One by one, everyone came and greeted her. I told her to go upstairs and dress up for her party - I had kept a gift for her on the bed. While she got ready, we arranged the cake, candles, and snacks. Half an hour later, my wife joined the celebration, making it hard to keep my eyes off of her.

She was looking gorgeous - like she always did.

"Close your mouth, Yuvi," Advait teased.

"You look like you saw her for the first time," Shaurya commented.

"Jeeju is blushing~" Upasana pointed out.

I ignored their teasing and stared at my wife as she carried herself confidently in her pink bubblegum dress, looking like a candy. Mom blessed her and told her to cut the cake. Kiaan took on the job of recording the event, while Heena gathered all the kids in one place.

"Make a wish before blowing the candles," Keerti told Reyna.

Reyna nodded and closed her eyes. After a minute of praying, she opened her eyes and blew the candles. Heena and Advait burst out the confetti, and Shaurya directed the kids towards the food court where Grace Nana made sure that every stomach was fully filled.

I waited for my turn as others congratulated my wife again and gave her gifts. I observed her as she smiled at everyone, her eyes moving towards me every time. When she was done getting showered with wishes, she moved towards me and looked at me expectedly.

"Where's my gift?" she asked.

"You didn't even remember your birthday, so why are you asking for a gift?" I teased.

She gave me a fake glare, and I pulled her in a hug.

"Happy birthday, my Kitten. I have gifts for you, but I will give them to you personally," I said.

She grinned and gave me a short kiss. After that, it was all about eating, playing games, dancing, chatting, and seeing Reyna smile and enjoy every moment.

"Let's get some rest, kids," Mom said.

We nodded and retired to our respective rooms after checking up on the kids, who had already fallen asleep two hours ago. Once in the room, Reyna jumped on me and wrapped her legs around my waist.

"Thank you for the wonderful surprise," she said and kissed me.

"I am happy to hear that." I pecked her lips and carried her to our bed.

I sat her down and asked her if she wanted to change her dress. She shook her head and asked me about the gifts. I smiled at her innocent expression and told her to close her eyes. She did as said and waited in anticipation. I placed her gift in front of her and sat down beside her.

"Open your eyes," I said.

Reyna opened her eyes and looked at her present in awe. "Is this real?"

I nodded. "I made it only for you. You like it?"

She gave me her bright smile and kissed my cheek. She took the square-shaped boardgame in her lap and tried to figure it out. I knew how much she liked games, especially puzzles, so I specially crafted a puzzle game for her which was inspired from Jumanji and Ludo, changing the theme to a romantic one.

And I was really glad to know that she liked her gift.

"I guess you figured out how to play it," I said.

"Yup," she replied.

She placed the game back on the bed and told me to play with her. So, I kept the rule book in front of us and started the game. Every step had a riddle that needed to be solved in order to get a hint about the other question, and the answers to each of them was related to us.

Reyna liked it a lot and giggled whenever the punishment was about giving the partner a kiss or doing something to make the other happy. Fortunately, we didn't mess up, and Reyna squealed in joy when we reached the end of the game and a beautiful melody played from the game.

I grinned as her eyes sparkled in delight as she saw two small wood figurines pop up from the sides of the game and ride on top. One was of a bride and the other one of a groom. Slowly, both figurines moved on both sides, rotating on their axes.

As the song ended, they met each other in the front and hugged.

"I love it," she commented and glanced at me.

"I love you, Kitten."

"I love you too," she said and wrapped herself around me.

I patted her back and told her to cry all she wanted when I felt my shirt getting wet. She nodded lightly and cried.

"No one ever put so much effort for me. Thank you, Yuvaan," she said.

"You are always welcome, wifey." I kissed the top of her head.

She wiped her eyes and increased her hold on me. I picked up the game and kept it on the side table. I pulled the comforter over us and caressed her head, telling her to sleep if she felt tired. She refused, and we rested in silence.

I should tell her now.

Are you sure, Yuvaan? What if she gets scared and runs away?

No, she won't.

How about you wait for some more time? What if you lose her too?

It won't be of any use to hide it from her. It is better to tell her now. The end decision will be hers, and I am ready for any outcome.

Do whatever you want.

I took a long breath and checked if Reyna had fallen asleep - she hadn't. Surprisingly, instead of feeling nervous, I felt comfortable.

"Reyna, I wanted to tell you something," I said.

"What?"

"It is related to my past; something I have been hiding from you. Do you want to hear it now?"

She looked at me. "Yes."

"Please don't fake your reaction, okay?"

She nodded, and I prayed mentally before opening my mouth.

"Reyna, I killed my father."

I loosened my grip on her as soon as I said it, expecting her to blow off. But instead of throwing me away and looking at me in disgust and fear, my wife stared at me, not surprised at all. I got worried, but her lips curled up in a small smile.

"How did it feel?" she asked.

I felt as if I was looking at my own self after seeing her reaction. I pulled her closer and asked her if she wasn't afraid after hearing what I just announced. She shook her head and told me that everyone had a past - some had it bright, while others dark.

"If you are comfortable, would you like to tell me about it?" she asked.

"Of course."

My Kitten... Thank you for being in my life.
