When my eyes fluttered open, all I could see was black. I turned my head to my right and noticed that I wasn't in my room; I wondered how I got here. I remembered watching TV earlier, then how did I land myself in Yuvaan's bedroom?

Did I start sleep walking again?

As I began to sit up, the region below my stomach ached severely and soon my back started doing the same. My whole body was heated up, and I felt really weak.

I groaned when my stomach churned, and my eyes widened in horror when I noticed the area beside me. The white bedsheet under me was stained completely red while some parts of the comforter had blood spots on them too. I quickly got up and checked the bed; even the mattress was also spoilt. I glanced behind me and saw my blue coloured salwaar transformed into a red one.

Fucking periods!

Didn't I get my date last week? Did I even get them ever since I arrived here? What the hell, Reyna? You missed them for whole three months!

I heard a knock on the door but didn't respond. The banging increased and after a few minutes, I heard the clicking sound of the lock as the door started opening up slowly.

Yuvaan peeked his head inside. "You awake, Kitten? You really sleep a—"

I ran towards the door and pushed him outside. He raised his eyebrows in surprise and put his right foot in the doorway when I began closing the door.

"Don't come inside!" I yelled.

"Why not? That's my room," he deadpanned.

"Come later. You can't enter right now."

"Why are you making such a weird face?"

Motherfucking cramps! Why do we women have to suffer so much?

"Go and call Grace first — I need her help," I told him.

"Why do you need Grace when you have me?" He smirked.

I narrowed my eyes at him. "Sorry, Mr. Soon to be ex-husband, your timing is really bad. And your flirting skills are worse than that. So, can you please give a lady some privacy?"

"Fiesty, aren't you?" He poked my nose.

"Are you going or not?" I questioned in annoyance.

"You don't need to hide from me, dear wifey."

I glared at him and after having a staring duel, he called Grace upstairs and left while chuckling like a serial killer. Grace arrived within seconds, along with her assistant, and enquired about what happened.

When I showed her the mess I had created, she gave me a smile and told me not to worry. Her assistant brought me some fresh clothes and while I got myself cleaned, they took care of the rest.

I couldn't believe I had to go through it again. Since I hit puberty, I never had regular periods. My parents were too conservative, so Mom didn't share such information with Dad and took me to doctors herself. Whenever I asked her about it, she dismissed the topic and told me to just take the medicines and never mention about it to others, especially boys.

I never understood why we had to hide a natural process from a gender of the same species. But because of my upbringing, I ended up following my mother's teachings and refused to open my mouth whenever the topic of periods came up.

I reminisced about my past and cleaned the whole bathroom after I was done. I went downstairs and Grace prepared ginger soup for me and told me to rest if I was still feeling weak.

I thanked her and ignored the curious stares of Yuvaan who was eating his breakfast slowly. He kept glancing all over me and when I shot him a glare, he curled up his lips in an arrogant smirk.

"Doctor said you are underweight. Eat up or you won't be able to leave as planned," he taunted.

"Doctor?"

He nodded. "He checked you yesterday and gave me a diet chart for you after I got you in my room."

What the hell was he talking about?

"Why did you take me to your room?" I accused.

"Because..." he tapped his chin with his index finger, "you are my wife."

I rolled my eyes and started sitting down on the chair but winced as a jolt of pain shot through my whole body. Yuvaan exchanged glances with Grace, who shook her head at him and told him to let me be.

Meanwhile, Shruti Aunty came and joined us on the dining table. Soon after, Advait and Shaurya arrived and took their usual seats.

"Good morning, Reyna! Nice to see you still alive," Advait greeted, and I gave him a short nod.

"Shut up, you asshole. I saw the gift you gave her, so you better explain yourself or your coffin will leave from here," Yuvaan hissed at his friend.

"I am so scared," Advait teased. "By the way, did you like anyone, Reyna?"

He yelped when Yuvaan kicked him under the table and both of them started fighting with each other. Shruti Aunty shook her head at them and asked Shaurya about the progress. Heena arrived too and punched Advait on the back before sitting beside me.

"How are you, bhabhi?" she asked and hugged me.

"Periods," I whispered and she made her mouth in an 'O' shape.

She rubbed my back and got involved in a conversation with Yuvaan's mom while shooting daggers at Advait, who was busy pinching Yuvaan for no reason. After a few minutes of impromptu fighting session, both idiots calmed down and began munching on their meals like nothing happened.

Is anyone normal here? Everyone is a crackhead.

Like you are the one to talk, Reyna. You are worse than them.

"Did you take care of the matter?" Yuvaan asked Advait.

"Of course." Advait grinned. "Those motherfuckers are disposed off."

What were they talking about exactly?

"Did you sign the papers?" Shaurya asked Yuvaan, who shook his head like a kid.

Shruti Aunty shot her son a murderous glare and turned towards me. When she asked me the same question, I pursed my lips and shook my head lightly. She furrowed her eyebrows and directed her gaze at Shaurya, who was in turn glaring at his best friend.

"Shaurya," Shruti Aunty said in a masked angry tone. "Why isn't everything done as I had ordered?"

"Yuvaan didn't sign even though I kept reminding him; he said that he didn't want to divorce Reyna," Shaurya informed.

Yuvaan threw a fork at him but Shaurya dodged it in time. Shruti Aunty banged her fist on the table and Yuvaan ducked his head. Heena shrunk in her seat while Advait began playing with his food; something he always did whenever the situation got against them.

"Why didn't you sign the divorce papers?" Shruti Aunty boomed, making everyone flinch.

"Why don't you ask Reyna the same? She didn't sign those too," Yuvaan grumbled.

"Don't blame her for your own mistake. She will sign it whenever she wants, but I want to know why haven't you done that yet?"

Yuvaan glanced at me and bit his lower lip. "I won't let her go."

"Yuvaan!" His mom shouted and he tore his gaze away from my face.

"She is my wife! You don't have to interfere in everything, Mom. I am capable of taking care of myself!" Yuvaan retorted.

"I will fucking slap you if you ever raise your voice on me again. Don't forget who you are talking to right now," his mom hissed, and Yuvaan gulped nervously.

"Sorry, but you really don't have to involve yourself," he mumbled.

"Reyna Bhabhi?" Heena nudged me.

"Yeah?" I asked.

"Why are you smiling like that? You are scaring me." She made a worried face.

"I am just enjoying the scene." I winked at her and drank my soup.

"I want to have a little chat with Reyna first," Yuvaan informed.

"No, you won't. You lost your chance way back, so please don't complicate things now," Shaurya scolded.

"Did anyone ask you for your opinion?" Yuvaan snapped.

"Did you see, Aunty? This is what I was telling you about," Shaurya complained.

"Are you a kid?" Yuvaan mocked.

"He is, but he just won't accept it. Always acting like a mature person when he isn't one," Advait commented and began snickering with Yuvaan.

"Talk about yourself, Jerk," Heena grunted.

"Excuse me, Miss Heena Jaffar, but I was not talking to you," Advait replied sarcastically, and Heena's eyes widened in shock.

"I will deal with you later," she threatened, but Advait ignored her.

"What were we talking about again?" Yuvaan questioned, and his Mom pinched her nose bridge in frustration.

"Your divorce!" Shaurya shouted all of a sudden and threw a file at Yuvaan.

My husband dropped the file on the ground and grabbed my wrist. "We will take our leave, but you guys enjoy your breakfast. And don't worry, Mom, your daughter-in-law is safe with me."

Before anyone could respond, Yuvaan took me to his study room and locked the door. He went behind his desk and took out some files from the drawer and then moved to his locker. He took out about a dozen jewelry boxes from it and laid them down on his table.

After setting everything up, he turned towards me and gave me a huge grin.

"Come here, Kitten," he said and pulled me near the table.

He went behind me and braced his palms on my shoulders. He told me to look through the documents in front of me and informed me that he had something planned for me.

"What is this all about?" I queried.

"As I said earlier, I won't divorce you, Reyna. But since Mom is here, she won't let me have my way, so I thought about offering you a deal. Are you interested?"

"What deal?"

"Looks like I got your interest; I will explain in short. I know we started off pretty badly and I treated you like shit even though you didn't do anything and wanted to get rid of you, but now I have changed my decision. I don't want you to leave."

"Why would I stay with you when your girlfriend is back? Why don't you pursue her instead of a stranger like me?"

"She is not my priority right now; moreover, she is my past, and I don't believe in digging up graves unnecessarily." He tucked my hair behind my right ear and wrapped his arms around my waist.

"What is with the sudden change of heart?" I accused.

"How am I supposed to know?" he teased. "Why don't you leave Tammanah out of this and just tell me your decision?"

"What will I get in return?" I questioned.

"All of this," he motioned towards the table, "is yours if you say yes."

I picked up a jewelry box and opened it. A sparkling diamond pearl necklace with matching earrings was lying gracefully on the soft velvet surface; just like other jewelry pieces. Yuvaan picked up a file and showed me an agreement.

"I will give you half of my shares too if you stay," he offered.

"I am not interested," I replied and got away from him.

"How about I give you all of my shares?" he suggested, but I shook my head.

"Please, Kitten. I will give you anything you ask, but please stay. Just tell me what you want," he begged.

I narrowed my eyes at him. "You still think I am a gold-digger, don't you? Sorry, but I don't want anything from you; I know you will use it against me later."

He let out a huge breath and glanced around him. "What am I supposed to do?"

"Don't you love Tammanah? If you leave me, you can be with her, then why are you making things difficult for yourself?" I asked.

"I am not making things difficult; I finally found how to sort out my life, Kitten. And I very well know what is going on in your mind too. You can fool others but you can't fool me," he stated and bore his dark gaze in me.

"You don't know anything about me, Yuvaan and it is better if you don't ever." I gave him a tight-lipped smile.

"What if I say I want to?" He stepped towards me and tilted his head. "What are you hiding so desperately behind that smile, Reyna Bakshi?"

I looked directly in his eyes. "Something you shouldn't even dream about."

He curled his lips in a devilish smile and a glint passed through his eyes. He laughed like a maniac, his shoulder length hair bouncing with the movement. He ran a hand through them and tied them up in a loose ponytail, a few strands falling over his forehead.

"My mistake for offering you something materialistic, Reyna." He glanced at the piles of documents and expensive jewelry on his desk.

He thought for a minute and then shook his head to himself. When he looked back at me, his face was glowing while sporting a huge smile which I had never seen before. He moved his gaze all over my face before he spoke up.

"I, Yuvaan Shruti Raichand, challenge you, Mrs. Reyna Yuvaan Raichand to keep up with me. Are you up for it?"

"Why are you wasting your precious time on me?" I mocked.

"Because you are worth it, Kitten." He smirked.

Worth it? Did you hear him, Reyna? Finally, someone who can understand you...

Reyna! Don't get in his trap; he is playing with your mind. Listen to me, don't say yes. If you do, you will be doomed forever and no one will be able to help you then. Why are you letting go of this golden opportunity to escape from this hellhole?

Shut up, fake bitch! Because of you, she suffered so much and now when she is getting what she deserves, I am not going to let you stop her. Enough being an obedient, oppressed girl who only knows how to say yes against her wish and suffer later. Go ahead, Reyna, do what you want. I will deal with this bitch myself.

I took a step towards my husband and adjusted his tie. I crossed my arms across my chest and moved my eyes on his face.

"I will accept the challenge if you promise me that you won't cry in the end," I said.

Yuvaan cracked a smirk and snaked his right arm across my waist. He pulled me closer and dipped his head low, near my left ear.

"As you say, Kitten," he whispered in a husky voice and kissed my earlobe.

A shiver went through my body and Yuvaan cupped my left cheek. He stared in my eyes, his pupils changing their circumference drastically. Since his eyes were naturally black, it was really hard to judge if his eyes were getting darker or not.

While I was busy observing his orbs, he moved his head forward and crashed his lips on mine. I was taken aback by his action, but he kissed me slowly and increased his hold on me. His lips caressed mine smoothly, creating tingles on my skin.

My first kiss...

After a few minutes, he pulled away and smiled like he got his favourite candy. I stood like a statue, still replaying the kiss in my mind. I glimpsed at him, and he pecked me on the lips.

"We can do it again if you want." He grinned.

"Don't move too fast, Mr. Husband," I warned.

He kissed my forehead and hugged me tightly. "You are mine, Reyna. Forever."

Forever? Who has ever been alive to experience that?
