Yuvaan didn't say anything which scared me more than if he had scolded us for losing his valuable money on just clothes and random stuff like cosmetics and jewellery. His silence over the amount of expenditure Heena and I did for just two days was giving me bad vibes.

"Are you still thinking about the same matter?" Heena asked as she wore her dress.

"How in the world he didn't say a single word? Are you sure we are safe? He won't murder us later, will he?" I panicked.

"You are exaggerating now. Chill, Bhabhi. Bro isn't interested in looking in women's bags. He himself gave me his card and he knows how much I spend," she brushed off my worries and wore her jacket.

"You are looking really good," I complimented her on her attire.

"I always do," she replied, and we burst out laughing.

"Come on, let's get you ready before Bro himself comes to check on us." Heena checked the time on her wristwatch and gave me my clothes.

I wore them and she gave me a thumbs up. She made me sit in front of the dressing table and did my makeup. After making sure that every inch of my face looked like a nice pancake, she curled my hair in a basic hairstyle.

"I don't think we need to do much, you look good." She smiled and handed me my purse.

"It is all thanks to you," I said as I admired my reflection in the mirror.

(Reyna's outfit๐Ÿ‘†)

Heena shook her head at me after telling me that I should stop thanking her for every little thing, but I couldn't stop myself from doing that. It wasn't everyday that I got to thank someone for their kindness to me.

"Shaurya bhaiyya is waiting downstairs. Let's go, Bhabhi," Heena informed as we exited the room.

"Why Shaurya?" I asked. "Where is Yuvaan?"

"I guess he already left for the meeting." Heena rushed towards the lift and entered after a few seconds. I followed suit, and we were outside the hotel within a few minutes.

A car was waiting for us, and Shaurya motioned for us to get in fast. We moved our feet and climbed in the luxurious car. The vehicle was big enough to hold five people in the back with two seats in the front.

"Isn't she looking pretty?" Heena gushed.

Shaurya gave just a short nod making Heena huff. His lack of any comment-good or bad-made my palms sweaty. If he didn't think that I was dressed properly then Yuvaan would surely throw me out in a second.

"Should I go and change? I know I am looking bad," I said and threw a sad look at Heena.

"Will saying a few kind words to her hurt your pride?" Heena growled at Shaurya who shot her a glare.

"Don't worry, Reyna. You look... umm," he scratched his head, "you look fine."

Fine? Was that a good thing or bad?

"Do you think Yuvaan will like it?" I asked in worry.

It wasn't like I had dressed to impress him, but he had earlier said that today's meeting was really important, and he only brought me with him because his client was adamant about meeting me. So, I had to be extra careful.

"I don't know," Shaurya deadpanned as he stared directly in my eyes.

I shrunk back in my seat. We were already halfway through the journey to Yuvaan's office, and I could do nothing to get my outfit changed. I crossed my arms across my chest and closed my eyes.

Everything is okay, Reyna. Relax, he will not kill you for wearing inappropriate clothes. Moreover, if he finds something wrong, he can simply keep you out of the meeting room. Do not stress. Please.

"Bhabhi?" Heena shook me lightly. "We have reached."

I opened my eyes and saw her looking at me in concern. We reached too soon-I didn't want to meet Yuvaan. I glanced at Shaurya who was looking at me with narrowed eyes and a foreign expression on his face.

"Are you okay? I called your name like twen-" Heena began, but Shaurya interrupted whatever she was going to say.

"We are getting late. Reyna, get out of the car," he commanded, and I quickly scurried off of the backseat.

Yuvaan's best friend also got out after me and walked towards the entrance of a huge black coloured glass building. Heena dragged me along with her, and we joined Shaurya in the lift.

"Clean her face, she is looking like a whitewash," Shaurya told Heena before he exited the lift.

Without wasting any more time, Heena took me to the washroom on the 40th floor, and I washed my face with her help. She quickly retouched my makeup and didn't apply too much of anything she had used earlier.

"I also thought that I did too much, but you were looking so beautiful. I couldn't stop myself," Heena confessed and gave me an awkward smile.

"It is okay, I don't blame you. We should thank Shaurya for pointing it out before I made a fool out of myself," I joked.

Heena's phone buzzed and she picked up the call. We were called to the meeting room within a few seconds and every step of mine felt heavy. I grabbed Heena's hand for support when we stood outside the specified room's door.

"You will rock, Bhabhi. Have faith in yourself." Heena patted my shoulder.

I also hoped for the same.

I exhaled a huge breath and pushed the door open, revealing a moderately lit grey room with a long rectangular black table in the middle. Matching swivel chairs were surrounding the polished table, having some occupants already seated in them.

I didn't pay much attention to the others, and my eyes caught the image of my husband sitting on my right, with a laptop in front of him and a cup of coffee in his hand. I saw his knuckles turn white due to the strength with which he was holding the cup's handle.

I glanced at his face and saw his jaw clench. In a swift motion, he put his drink on the table with too much force and snapped up from his seat. He strode towards me with a strange look in his eyes; I thought he was going to hit me.

But instead, he snaked his left arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him, his cologne invading my olfactory receptors. For the first time after our marriage, he shot me a smile which didn't look forced.

He roamed his eyes all over the room and then kissed my forehead, taking me by surprise. I cursed at myself in my head as I felt heat surge from that point till my toes-I needed to rein my emotions.

"Everyone, please meet my wonderful wife, Mrs. Reyna Yuvaan Raichand," he announced and increased his hold on my waist when he said the word 'wife', making me glance at him.

How I wished he meant it. I really hated myself for still hoping that he would change his thoughts about me.

"She is your wife?" I heard an eerily familiar voice.

"Yes, Mr. Rickard. She is my wife," Yuvaan replied as he moved his gaze over me.

I looked in front of us and widened my eyes when I saw the same old man from yesterday sitting in front of me. But he was dressed differently, looking prim and proper in an expensive suit and gelled hairstyle.

I remembered how I had bumped into him, and a huge smile broke out on my face.

"Dadaji? What are you doing here?" I asked in disbelief as I moved away from Yuvaan.

I went around the table and stood in front of Mr. Rickard. "Did you come here to complain about me to my husband?" I laughed.

"Maybe?" he played along.

"You sure you didn't break your bones when we fell? You are quite old, even if you think you are not. You should be more careful," I teased, but I was still worried about whether he got hurt or not.

I didn't get the chance to properly ask him yesterday as I was rushing to meet Yuvaan. It was the second time I met Mr. Rickard, but it felt like I had known him for ages-he had a very friendly aura around him.

"Reyna," Yuvaan said in a masked angry tone which made me snap my head at him.

He was looking at me with murderous eyes, and I looked at him in confusion. He motioned for me to get away from Dadaji, and the way he was shooting daggers at me meant that I did something wrong. I followed his orders without arguing and stepped away.

"I am extremely sorry for my wife's behaviour, Mr. Rickard. She gets pretty excited when she sees new people. Hope you don't mind," Yuvaan said as he made me sit on a chair and put his palms over my shoulders.

"Relax, young man. Let the girl be," Dadaji waved him off.

Yuvaan pressed my shoulders firmly, and when I looked over at him, I saw him trying to maintain the smile on his face. He went to sit in his chair, and Heena came beside me.

"Are you okay?" she asked and handed me a glass of water which was already there on the table.

I nodded, and she apologized that she should have informed me about the client beforehand. I understood her concern and told her to relax. She gave me a small smile and sat down beside me.

I felt really embarrassed when I learned that Dadaji-sorry, Mr. Rickard Charleston was the client about whom Yuvaan was talking about.

I just can't do anything right, can I?

I kept my mouth shut as the meeting proceeded and Shaurya explained all the terms and conditions to the other party. All the time, I could feel Yuvaan trying to engrave his stare on my face.

"Why are you so quiet, kid?" Mr. Rickard asked.

I quickly glanced at Yuvaan who quirked up an eyebrow at me. I moved my gaze to his lawyer friend who avoided looking in my direction completely. Heena lightly patted my arm and told me to say something.

"I... I am..." I twiddled my thumbs. "I am really sorry for behaving like that. I forgot who you were, even though I was already informed about you," I lied.

"And who I am?" he asked as he turned his full attention on me, making everyone stop what they were doing.

"Mr. Rickard Charleston?" I replied, but it came out more like a question.

"Bwahahahahaha..." he burst out laughing.

Everyone, including his assistants looked at him like he had gone mad. I worried if I said something stupid-no, I was sure I said something idiotic for him to laugh like that.

I was doomed.

"She just told me my own name! Hahaha... I think I will die from laughing," he said and coughed a little.

I decided to keep my head low. Any moment, Yuvaan would get up and shoot me in the head.

"I think we are done here," Rickard said and drank some water.

"What?!" Yuvaan shouted in a controlled voice as he stood up.

Rickard ignored him and stood up from his chair. He wiped his eyes with his silk handkerchief, and just when we thought that he was done with his laughter marathon, he started a second round.

He rounded the table and stopped in front of me. He opened his mouth to say something but closed it back. He patted my right shoulder with his hand and shot me a huge smile.

"I will take my leave then," he announced, making everyone look at him in horror.

"Mr. Rickard, with all due respect, are you serious? I brought my wife with me just as you wished, then why are you prolonging signing the deal? It is the third time we discussed all the details." Yuvaan clenched his fists.

"I know, lad," Rickard said calmly, totally opposite to the enraged demeanour of my husband.

Without saying anything else, Grandpa walked out of the room with his two assistants in tow. He seemed to be in a jolly mood, and when he vanished from my sight, I turned to look at Yuvaan.

"Not again!" He banged the table with his fist and pinched his nose bridge.

I quickly hid behind Heena who was sharing the same scared expression as mine. Shaurya called up Advait who arrived within seconds and gave Yuvaan his gun.

I widened my eyes at them. Why in the hell would Advait do it?

I started walking towards the door taking Heena along with me, but a single glance from Yuvaan made me stop in my tracks. He told his friends to leave, but none of them did. He looked at everyone, and when he saw that no one was complying, he occupied his chair again.

He unloaded his gun and then loaded it again. He kept doing that, and Heena quickly took out something from her bag. She pushed a small white coloured bottle towards Advait who took it from her.

He shook the bottle and gave it to Yuvaan who gulped it down in one swig. He drank some water afterwards and continued playing with his gun.

There was pin drop silence in the whole room except for the sound of bullets being taken out and shoved back in the gun repeatedly.

After what seemed like ages, Yuvaan spoke up, " Everyone, leave. I would like to have some alone time with my wife."

"But bro..." Heena tried to defend me, but Yuvaan shut her up by saying that she was his P.A. in the office; she would have to listen to his orders.

"We should leave, Heena. You are only adding to his stress." Advait grabbed her wrist and dragged her outside with him against her protests.

Shaurya didn't leave with them. He stood beside Yuvaan, but his eyes were on me. I didn't know if I was dreaming or not, but I saw his eyes flash with a bit of concern before he looked back at his best friend.

"We will be right outside if you need something," he said and exited the room.

I froze in my spot as Yuvaan's predatory eyes landed on me. He gave me a devilish smirk as he loaded his gun. He rounded his shoulders and relaxed back in his seat, his fear inducing black eyes roaming all over me slowly.

"Let's begin the game."

What are your thoughts about the meeting between Reyna and Rickard?

Do you think Rickard will bring more problems for Reyna?

Please share your thoughts with me ๐Ÿ’œ
