Heena Jaffar

~×~∆

We reached Chile after making a two hour stop at Newark, and just saying that the place was beautiful would have been an understatement. I had never been outside India, so it was my first international trip.

The moment we landed on Yuvaan's private runway, I clicked some pics with the help of Heena when the other guys were distracted. I sent the pictures to my friends and my brother, and as expected, they were jealous and complaining that I didn't even inform them about it.

I read all of their messages, but put my phone back in my bag when I caught Yuvaan staring holes in my head for quite some time. I kept my distance from him and his friends except Heena; she was really kind and got along with me well.

She didn't judge me like others.

"Hey Monkey, take Reyna with you for shopping. I don't want her to meet Rickard like this," Yuvaan said while making a weird face as his eyes roamed all over me.

Heena put her palm forward and Yuvaan handed her a credit card. "Do not buy anything useless," he warned, and Heena shot him a mischievous smirk.

"Let's go, Bhabhi!" she squealed.

"Not right now, idiot. First, we will go to the hotel, take some rest and then you can go wherever you want," he added.

"But I am not tired." Heena shook her head like a kid.

Yuvaan narrowed his eyes at her and motioned with his head towards me. Heena furrowed her eyebrows and then jumped up suddenly. "I got it! You want her to rest, right?" She wiggled her eyebrows.

My so called husband hit her on the back and stomped away. Heena stuck out her tongue at him, and Yuvaan shot her a glare over his shoulder. Shaurya and Advait followed him and got in the cars waiting for them.

"Come on, Bhabhi. We should get going too," she said and pulled me along with her.

We reached the hotel we were going to stay in after half an hour of driving. I was looking out of the window the whole time, and even after I got out of the car, I couldn't keep my eyes off of the surroundings.

Clean roads, greenery merged with the modern architecture, humans of all races walking around, and the cute little bakeries and shops; everything was lovely.

I took my time and printed each and every small-big object in my mind. I knew I would never get a chance to visit Chile again any time sooner, so I made the best use of my time and acted like I was on a tour.

I looked for Heena, and she was already inside the hotel, talking on her phone near the reception. There was no sign of my husband and his friends, meaning that they must have gone to their respective rooms.

Since Yuvaan wasn't around and Heena wasn't looking for me, I decided to make a quick trip around the place. In case I got lost, I could simply call Heena as she had already saved her number in my phone without my knowledge.

I ignored the curious stares of the people and walked around with my small bag in my hand. I admired the beautiful marble flooring and the matching furniture. Small globe structured lights were hanging from the ceiling and flower decorations were lining the wide corridors.

I was busy observing the intricate carvings on the ceiling while walking when my phone rang. I gulped when I saw Yuvaan's name flash across the phone screen. I knew what he was going to say, so I didn't pick up the call and began running without thinking.

I rounded the corner in a hurry and collided with someone. I didn't get to see the other person as we both fell down making a loud sound as we contacted the floor. I landed on my butt, and one of my sandals flew away in a distance.

"Oh no!" I yelled as I saw my other sandal sliding across the floor.

I quickly got up and moved my feet to grab my tattered footwear but stopped when I noticed an old man in a red polo shirt and khaki shorts sitting on the floor where I had fallen down. My eyes widened in realisation, and I grabbed his left arm to help him up.

"I am sorry, Dadaji (Grandpa), I didn't see you. Are you okay?" I panicked, fearing that he might have broken his hip or something.

"Relax kid," he replied and stood up without any problem.

"I am extremely sorry, Dadaji," I apologized.

He furrowed his eyebrows at me. "What's Dadaji?" he asked, his accent coming out weird on the Hindi word. It sounded like Dedagee.

I controlled myself from laughing at him when he said that word again, his tongue rolling up. He was old, maybe around sixty or seventy but really handsome. He had bright platinum blonde hair and piercing grey eyes which fit perfectly with his sharp nose and thin lips.

"I asked you something, young lady," he said in a stern voice, and I stopped observing his thick moustache which looked like broomsticks.

"Sorry. I meant to say Grandpa." I giggled as I saw him checking himself out in a side mirror on the wall.

"Do I look like a Grandpa to you? I might have gotten old, but I can surely outmatch you in a run," he boasted and ran a hand over his lustrous hair.

I was about to reply, but my phone buzzed again. "It was nice to meet you, Grandpa. I have to go," I said and ran out of there.

I grabbed my sandals on the way and rushed towards the reception barefoot. I asked the blonde haired receptionist about Yuvaan and gave her my name. She instantly motioned me to take the lift and informed me about the room numbers.

Once I reached the 35th floor, I was greeted by a pissed off Yuvaan along with Heena who was standing in front of him like a scared cat. I walked slowly towards them and stood beside Heena who shot me an accusatory glance.

"Where the fuck were you?!" Yuvaan yelled.

"Outside," I replied and ducked down my head to avoid his blazing glare.

"You came here to play? Are you a kid?" He raised his voice. "And you Heena. Remember, she is your responsibility as long as we are here. If there is even a small mistake, I won't listen to any excuses."

"I understand. I will look after her," Heena replied, and after giving us a long lecture about punctuality, Yuvaan retired to his room, pushing past me.

As soon as he left, I took Heena's hands in mine. "I am really sorry, Heena. I lost the track of time. I promise I won't repeat the same mistake again, it is just that I got so mesmerized by the amazing scenery that I couldn't stop myself. Please, don't be angry with me. I will do as you say, I am-"

"Chill, Bhabhi. I didn't even say anything," Heena cut off my rambling.

She gave me a huge smile, and I looked at her in awe. I asked her again if she was okay after Yuvaan scolded her because of me, and she nodded her head in positive. She didn't look concerned and brushed off the earlier incident like nothing.

"It is not the first time, Bhabhi. I am his P.A. I have seen worse than this. Don't worry, I never take him seriously." Heena pushed her hair behind her shoulder and winked.

"Okay then." I smiled.

"I have a doubt though. Why are you carrying your sandals in your hand?" she asked.

She laughed like a maniac when I told her about how I bumped into an old man while rushing in order to avoid getting scolding from Yuvaan. She told me to be careful and be safe from the strangers.

She took me to our room and told me to make myself comfortable. After I admired the biege coloured room, I decided to take a nice, hot shower as I didn't had to worry about any housework at the moment. I laid myself in the huge bathtub after filling it with water and dropping soap bombs in it.

I only got out of the bathroom after playing around for two hours. Heena didn't complain and had already got the room service to deliver some food. She told me that she would take me shopping in the night and it would be only the two of us.

I sat down beside her on the bed, and we ate the delicious food while enjoying the beautiful view from the floor to ceiling length glass window. I didn't feel bored for even a second as Heena had so much to talk about.

When she noticed that I was exhausted, she put me in the bed and pulled the covers over me. I thanked her and fell asleep within seconds. I felt really happy to have her by my side, looking after me just like my best friends, Keerti and Upasana.

I got a satisfactory and soothing sleep thanks to the comfy bed and comforter. Heena let me rest and woke me up when it was time to leave. I got ready within fifteen minutes, and we walked out of our room; Heena wearing a cute dark rose jumpsuit and me dressed in a red Patiala salwar suit.

"Get her something nice to wear. I don't want to make bad impression on the client," Yuvaan ordered as we saw him standing in his door with his phone in his hand.

He gave me a once over, and I averted my eyes when I felt him staring at me too intently. I felt like he would burn me with just his gaze.

"She looks good in everything," Heena retorted.

Yuvaan rolled his eyes. "You should get your eyesight checked, Monkey. You can't even differentiate between trash and a woman."

I clutched Heena's hand tightly as Yuvaan's words hit me like a brick. It wasn't the first time he was insulting me, but it still hurt.

Heena glared at Yuvaan who seemed to be enjoying his own joke. I moved away from him and told Heena that we should go; we were getting late.

"F.U.C.K. yourself," Heena spelled out the first word and before Yuvaan could respond, she ran away dragging me with her.

"You shouldn't have said that," I lied as I tried to mask the smile on my face.

Heena didn't say anything, but when we reached the ground floor, she chuckled like a serial killer. "I love pissing off bro. You saw his expression?" She laughed.

I shook my head at her in amusement; she loved getting in trouble. We exited the hotel, and she told me everything she knew about Chile. She had been to the country so many times that she didn't even remember when was her first time.

After about ten minutes, we reached a famous street known for boutiques. Heena told the driver to park the car and took me to the first shop. It was really cozy and painted in a shade of pink. The owner showed us a lot of dresses when Heena told her the specifications, but I was horrified.

The dresses were all pretty, but they were not for me; I could feel it. Still, I tried them on when Heena forced me and took them off faster than I wore them. I moved out of the dressing room with all the twelve dresses and returned them to the cashier.

"You liked any?" Heena asked.

"No." I shook my head.

"Are you sure, Bhabhi? Not even one?" Heena raised her eyebrows.

"No," I stated again, and Heena took me to another shop.

Just like the previous one, I rejected everything. Heena was not giving up that easily and wasn't listening to my excuses which were mainly complaints about neckline being too deep or an invisible back.

"We should go back, Heena. I don't think we will find anything for me here," I told her and tried to pull her away from the door of the thirteenth boutique she was going to enter.

"No, Bhabhi. We will find something," she argued.

"We are just wasting time, Heena. What's the use of looking when I am not going to wear them no matter how beautiful they are?"

"What do you mean?" She looked at me in confusion.

When I didn't say anything, she put her hands on her hips. "Don't tell me you think that short clothes define a girl as characterless," she said with a cold edge to her voice.

"Of course not! I don't judge someone for their personal choices," I defended.

"Then what's the problem? I saw you looking at those dresses with starry eyes and still you didn't buy them. They looked good on you, then what are you afraid of?"

"I... I ju-just can't wear them. I do-don't feel comfortable," I said as I felt tears prickle my eyes.

"Oh my god! I didn't intend to make you cry. Man, you are too emotional." She took out a napkin from her handbag and dabbed my cheeks.

"I am not like that, Heena. I don't judge..." I cried.

"I got it, I got it. Relax, I didn't want to sound rude, but that topic is really sensitive for me. I hope you understand," she said and gave me her puppy eyes. "Sorry, Bhabhi. I won't force you again."

"But if we can't get anything nice, Yuvaan will chop off my head." I frowned.

"Not yours, but mine for sure. Remember, I am supposed to look after you. And... don't worry I will find you something which you are comfortable wearing, and Bro wouldn't even get a chance to complain. I should have asked you for your personal preferences." She gave me her signature smirk.

After my impromptu crying session, Heena took me to another shop which was two streets away. The place was really big, comprising of three floors: one floor each for menswear, womenswear, and kidswear.

Heena shot me a huge smile when she noticed my expression; the shop was perfect. And the clothes suited my taste too. Since I liked everything that I was presented with, Heena helped me in choosing a few outfits according to the specific occasions.

"Happy now?" she asked as she put more clothes on the counter.

"I am, but don't you think that's a lot?" I pointed towards the heap of clothes she had collected.

She grinned and took out Yuvaan's credit card from her purse. She gave it to the cashier who swiped it before I could say anything in protest. Heena didn't look even a grain of guilty compared to me.

"The bill is 919415.63 Pesos," the cashier informed. "Shall I proceed?"

My eyes widened at the number. I threw a panicked glance at Heena who told the cashier to go ahead. I told my partner that it was too much and that we shouldn't have bought so much, or better we should have gone to a cheaper place.

"Bhabhi, relax! This is nothing for Bro. Why do you keep forgetting that you are the wife of a billionaire?" Heena teased.

"I know, but still... It is his money, not mine," I argued.

"What's the difference? You are his wife, he is your husband, it is his money, so basically it is yours too." She shrugged her shoulders.

I wished I could make her understand. Yuvaan must have gotten the message of the transaction, and he would add that amount to my debt which was already too high.

"Let's go, I am hungry," Heena picked up some bags and walked out.

I shook my head to stop thinking about how he would react after knowing about our shopping spree; he had warned us not to buy anything useless. I turned to the cashier who was smiling at me widely.

"Can you please tell me the amount in dollars, and if possible in Indian rupees?" I asked in a low voice, wishing for it to be as low as possible.

"Sure," she replied and after typing in her computer, looked back at me. "It is $1202.95 i.e. ₹86,325."

I gulped nervously and rushed out of the shop after picking up rest of the bags before I fainted. I reached Heena's car and got in the backseat. She was already talking on her phone, and as expected, I could hear Yuvaan's voice from the other end.

I just wish he won't blow off and ask me for a repayment when we reach the hotel.
