Chapter 5: Meeting Again

Oh my God!

The vanilla scent waffled through her nostrils as she inhaled it hungrily. She had never felt anything like this and hoped it would continue. She tossed around, feeling the soft silk on her body, making her smile brighten.

Today's dream differed from all.

No panting awake from the nightmares, no profuse sweat, no abnormal heart beating from the terror of the night.

Diana stretched her hand to take her phone from the nightstand but felt the distance was long. She furrowed her brows. What had happened was her brother playing a prank on her. She fluttered an eye open slowly, first taking in girandole on the cathedral ceiling. She stood up quickly from the bed. Everything was wrong. She wiped her head around, noticing her surroundings. Her eyes widened comically as her heart skipped a little before the blanket she was holding firmly on her chest fell from her quickly, and she noticed the dress on her wasn't hers. Then she released a shocking shrill sound.

Oh God! I have been kidnapped! What would become of my little brother? Diana thought, panicked. She hoped her kidnappers wouldn't do anything to her brother because she would lose it. She didn't care if she was used. Nothing must happen to her little brother.

Diana willed herself to stop thinking or panicking further because it could lead to anxiety, and she didn't need it now. She inhaled loudly, closed her eyes firmly, counting to ten before exhaling, and felt peace, but it was disturbed when the door was opened abruptly, which made her jump from where she stood and instinctively took the night lamp and then threw it.

"Ow!" she heard a pained sound, and she raised her head, shooting the person who entered with a guilty smile. The world was not as good as it was portrayed because some dark sins morphed themselves. She was always guided.

"Milady," the strange guy called in a playful tone, "that was a tough throw for a female," he muttered, holding up his forehead, which had swollen.

"I'm sorry," she mumbled, looking for anything to apply to the man's wound, but the man waved his hand, stopping her from fretting.

Silence descended between them. No one knew what to say. It was awkward. Diana stared at the intruder and felt the earlier guilty return. It wasn't a man who entered, but a young man (a teenager). If she weren't mistaken, the guy would be two years older than her little brother.

"I'm so sorry," she said once again.

"It's okay," he beamed, "I deserved it." he mumbled, "my cousin had informed me to stay put. I just wanted to satisfy curiosity because my brother never brings ladies home, no matter how beautiful she is, she would return the night not the second day," he said in a go.

"Okay," she nodded, "so, who is your cousin, dear?" she inquired softly.

"Oops," he blushed, "that is for me to know and for you to find out," he responded, "I just want to inform you to come down for breakfast after you are through," turning his heel to leave.

"Wait," she stopped him, walking to where he was. "Can I get your name?" she asked with a smile.

"I'm Carlos," and he dashed off without listening to Diana's whisper.

Diana sighed before dropping on the bed like a potato sack. She rolled on the bed, confused. Why was she kidnapped? Where is her brother? Why did her kidnapper send a younger person to check on her? She was puzzled.

I can't get answers like this, she thought to herself and went to what she believed to be a bathroom.

After taking a long and nice shower, she went to the closet and saw clothes, outfits that were her size that if she wore them for years, she couldn't wear all. She took a mid-length blue gown out. She looked at it dreamily before she dropped it down as if it burned her.

Oh my god, she exclaimed internally. The price tag was smirking at her to put it on. Her yearly salary couldn't buy the simple dress. God! Humans are wasting money, she thought bitterly, picking the dress like it was a jewel. Well, it was a jewel for her!

The soft material of the dress met with her skin, giving her a goosebump; she was wearing a dress costed more than her yearly salary, and she cleaned her sweaty hands with the towel with her. She didn't want to stain the gown. She couldn't wait to get out of the dress and take it to the laundry for washing instead of washing it with her hands and returning it. She hated it because she didn't want to be in debt to someone.

Diana made her wavy hair into two buns to make herself presentable to whoever kidnapped her and talk about why she was taken from her home.

She left the room, looking at the room one more time before closing it behind her. The room looked gorgeous. Her heart tugged, but she raised her head to find out why she was taken.

Diana felt frustration crawling to the back of her mind as she walked for almost thirty minutes without meeting a single creature, talking less of a way out. She had admired the painting and stairs but found herself back at the door she had closed earlier.

Damn! Is this a maze? She mumbled, kicking the door annoyingly before sighing and straightening the end of her dress. She felt like screaming but stopped when she heard some whispering. Thanks to her heightened hearing sense, she walked to the sound and met with two maids giggling at each other. She sighed, smiling at herself like all her secret prayers had been answered.

Diana called out to the ladies sweetly, having a fake smile on her face, "Hello, I'm lost. Can you please direct me to the diner room?" she blinked her eyes to look like a damsel.

"Yes ma'am," they said in unison and bowed their heads in sync.

After the maids directed her through the stairs, she turned to wave her hand and smiled in gratitude to the ladies, but her smile vanished immediately as she turned to the elevator.

"Did you show her the way out?" Nicholas asked his cousin as they waited for the kidnapped girl to join them. Carlos looked away, squirming uncomfortably in his seat. He has forgotten to direct her.

"Dammit, Carl! Can you ever do anything right?" Nicholas gritted out. He couldn't wait to see her again, acting impulsively without thinking of any strategies. He took her without permission. He was feeling giddy and nervous a little. He couldn't wait to watch her expression.

He didn't understand the need to have her with him. Maybe it was infatuation, and he was eager to find out.

The clicking sounds of her footstep could be heard as she descended the stairs; passed shivered through Nicholas' body as he sat appropriately on his seat. He gulped a glass of water to calm himself. He didn't understand why he was feeling nervous because of her presence.

He stood from his seat when her clicking sound was closer. He smiled to welcome her but was faced with a scowling face.

"What the fuck are you doing here!"
