Chapter 51- Turn it off, babe.

Kyle drove us home near midnight that evening. I was so happy I'm sure my mouth was ready to split in two.

"Have you had a nice day today?" Kyle asked. I nodded my head enthusiastically. Of course. He didn't have to ask. "Me too," he smiled.

He was in a good mood too. Relaxed, content and smiling. I loved it. I loved him.

When the car finally parked back into the drive, I sighed. As much as I loved this place, I couldn't wait to leave.

I missed my father and I would miss the memories here more than anything, but I knew I had to move on. I had a family and that was with Kyle.

Kyle got us out of the car and he took me straight to bed. His hand entwined with mine, I knew he was as content as I was.

"Let's get you to bed, you must be exhausted," Kyle led me to the bed before pulling off my shirt.

"Well you didn't let me sleep earlier," I pouted his way.

"Well I wanted to go to sleep properly in our real bed for the moment as that one wasn't quite ours," he smiled my way.

He threw my top on to the floor along with my jeans. He grabbed a shirt from his draw and draped it over my body. Now I was already for bed.

"Beautiful," he stated with a smirk before he whipped the covers back for me and I jumped right in.

Once I was tucked in, Kyle got unchanged before he pulled on a pair of shorts and jumped into bed beside me.

He wrapped his arms around my body tightly and sighed on to the top of my head.

"My favourite place," he sighed again. My hand laid against his and I entwined my fingers through.

My eyes closed shut almost voluntarily.

Then I waited until Kyle was asleep, and once his breathing had slowed down, I knew he was deep into the darkness.

I turned around slowly in his arms and I studied his face once I was sure. I never got time to do so usually.

But everything about him was perfect. Everything. I was so lucky I fell in love with this guy. He was everything to me.

I closed my eyes again after kissing his nose lightly, making sure I didn't wake him up.

Soon, I was asleep too and our dreams collided together in the darkness.

I woke up startled. The phone was shrilling on the stand beside the bed.

Kyle moved infront of me and his stubble moved against my cheek.

"What the fuck is that?" Kyle let out with a hoarsed voice as his arm went over his eyes.

"It's just my phone," I replied as I turned and retrieved it. I couldn't help but almost moan at the fact at it was 4:50 am.

"Turn it off, babe," Kyle moaned. I picked the phone up and answered it swiftly.

"Hello?" I asked unsure. Who was possibly ringing me at this time?

"Baby girl!" Matt drawled out over the speaker. I rolled my eyes even through my sleep hazed vision.

"Matt?"

"How did you know?" Matt said slowly as he laughed along.

"Matt, it's four in the morning, what do you want?" I let out with a no nonsense tone. Kyle got up to lean on his one elbow while he looked to me with curiosity all over his face.

"I'm pissed out of my head and I can't get home," Matt replied as he kept on giggling. I put my fingers to my temple to try and rub the ache beginning to form.

"Matt, where are you? Don't play about," I demanded firmly. There was silence behind the phone and just as I was about to demand again, he replied.

"At Tiger, baby girl. Come and get me," he slurred slightly over the phone. It was still dark outside and I was beginning to worry but I'm sure he was fine.

I knew where Tiger was. It was an old club Matt and I used to fantasise going into when we were just a few years younger than we were now. Oh, how things change.

"Alright, I'm coming to get you, don't get off the phone," I jumped up from bed and quickly pulled up my jeans from the floor.

"Where are you going? Come back to bed," Kyle whined huskily as he watched me with half closed lids.

"I need to go," I rushed out. Kyle shot up from the bed as he stared at me worryingly.

"Where? Where are you going?" He asked, rushed. "Why are you leaving? Did I do anything?" He was still half asleep and he made an effort at trying to wake himself up fully. I giggled slightly but I didn't mean to.

"I'm just going to get Matt," I stated as I threw on one of Kyle's hoodies.

"At this time? It's dark outside," I rolled my eyes and looked to him.

"Don't you think I know that, but I can't leave him on his own all night can I?" Kyle shook his head and sighed but he got up from the bed nonetheless.

"Then I'm coming with you," he stated. I nodded my head anyway.

Kyle threw on his clothes and grabbed his car keys and phone from the side.

"Where are we heading?" We both made our way to the car. I'm sure I lived in this bloody car more than I did the house.

"Tiger,"

"Tiger?" Kyle replied. I nodded my head as we both jumped into the vehicle.

"It's a club in the city, it's not that far," I replied. Kyle nodded his head.

"Just give me the directions," Kyle said. I nodded my head as the car backed up onto the road.

We drove in silence but I directed him to the city whenever I needed to, and it didn't take more than twenty minutes.

"Just through there," I pointed to a street and Kyle swerved onto the curb.

That's where I pin pointed Matt. He stood there against the wall smiling to himself as his lips moved. Was he singing? Most probably knowing Matt.

Kyle didn't seem overly happy that Matt made him get out of bed so early, but my bestfriend always made me laugh and for some reason I was on the verge of laughing hysterically.

Kyle beeped the horn and Matt's head snapped to the car.

"I'm going to get out and help him," I stated as I saw Matt wobbling whenever he even lifted a foot.

Just as I was about to open the door, Kyle held my leg down with one of his hands.

"I'll go," Kyle stated before opening the door himself and getting Matt gently to the car.

Matt leaned against Kyle but Kyle somehow moved with ease even when lanky Matt was against him. Kyle still didn't look too happy.

I smiled as I watched them both, and when Kyle nearly fell over because of Matt, I'm sure I laughed.

Finally, Kyle got Matt to the car as he got him onto one of the back seats.

"Stop laughing, you can do it next time," Kyle said as he looked to me and huffed. I couldn't doubt the twinkles in his eyes, however. I looked to him and poked my tongue out childishly.

Kyle got us out of the street quickly and we made our way home.

"He can sleep in the guest room," I gestured to a lying Matt as he hummed slightly to a tune I didn't know. Kyle nodded his head.

We rode most of the way in silence. It was peaceful and tranquil and I'm sure I was about to fall asleep.

Just as I was, again, Matt's voice caught me and I was pulled back into the morning.

"Hey, Cali, do you remember that guy who wanted to have sex with you in school?" Matt's slurred voice caught my ears and I turned to look at him.

I gave a quick look at Kyle and saw him move slightly in his seat.

"Yes, Matt," it was just an idiot who thought I was easy enough to go with him. He was wrong.

"Oh and remember that time when you nearly lost your virginity to Dustin?" I nearly spluttered my own spit across the front window of the car. I looked nervously to Kyle again and his knuckles held the wheel tighter.

"Okay, Matt," I warned. Matt was too drunk to care about a thing.

"You really loved him, I thought you were going to marry him. I'm glad you didn't, I always thought of him as a knob head," Matt slurred slightly. "You really did love him,"

"Shut the fuck up, Matt," Kyle demanded loudly. Matt shut his mouth and quickly too. Obviously he didn't lose all of his brain.

I looked to Kyle and he seemed angry. He didn't need to be.

"Kyle?" I got his attention. His eyes flickered to mine.

"I don't want to hear about that idiot or what you did in your past, thankyou," Kyle replied.

"It wasn't me, it's Matt, he's drunk," I stated. As if he didn't know already. But I didn't really know what to say.

"I still don't want to hear it," Kyle stated as he continued to look ahead.

I turned around and I didn't say a word. I don't want us to argue over something so stupid.

Finally, we were home. Kyle got Matt from the back seat and he took him to the guest room.

I flew into the bedroom and after taking off my clothes I got under the covers.

I was cold and tired. Very tired actually.

It was only half five and I was ready for a few more hours sleep. I snuggled up under the duvet and I waited for Kyle to come back.

After half an hour, the bed was still vacant and I was still cold. Where was he?

Just as I was about to get up and get him, a wave of nausea flew over my body like a tidal wave. Oh this wasn't good.

Quickly, I ran to the toilet and I vomited all the food that was in my stomach.

I wanted to cry. I hated being sick.

After, my mouth was dry and disgusting as I leaned against the toilet bowl. My eyes felt watery and I took in a few breaths.

Kyle was still not heard of, but I wish he was here now. I didn't want to be on my own, not when I felt so sick.

I got up anyway and brushed my teeth, hoping he was coming up the stairs or hoping he was in bed now.

But to my disdain, even when I brushed my teeth and went back to bed, he wasn't there.

Christ, I didn't feel well at all.

I laid down carefully in bed and I stayed there. My eyes felt heavy and I just needed to sleep, so that's what I did.

When I woke up again, I was glad I felt a little better and luckily I didn't feel too sick.

When I turned around I didn't see or feel Kyle beside me.

I frowned in disappointment. Why wasn't he here?

I got up from the bed slowly, and I didn't feel too bad. I took a few steps until I was above the stairs and I shouted for Kyle.

Just as I did so, that nauseous feeling came over me again and I ran to the toilet. Everything came up from my stomach again until I'm sure there was nothing there.

Suddenly,  I felt my hair being pulled up gently and out of my face.

"Aw baby, fuck," Kyle let out softly as he stoked my back softly.

I leaned my body against the wall beside me and Kyle kneeled down infront of me.

He pushed my hair from my cheeks and he looked to me with concern.

"Are you not well, baby? What's the matter? Shall I take you to the doctors?" I lifted up my hand to stop him from talking and asking me any questions.

"Kyle," I warned. Kyle sighed and he kissed my cheek. He then pulled my body up before pulling me gently to the sink.

"How long have you been unwell? Has it just been this morning?" I nodded my head in reply.

"I was earlier too, but you didn't come and you didn't come back to bed with me," I stated sadly as I looked to him through the mirror.

"I'm so sorry, sweetheart, I feel so bad," he picked up a toothbrush and put toothpaste onto the end of it.  "Open, baby," he demanded softly and I opened my mouth.

From the side of me he brushed my teeth gently with my tooth brush.

"Spit," I spat the rest out once he was done. He then turned me around slowly and laid his lips to mine. I pulled away and he almost scowled.

"I don't want you to get my illness,"

"I don't care, I want to kiss you," he kissed my lips again and I let him. "I'm so sorry, I'll look after you, babe, through sickness and in health, that's what I vowed to you,"

"Thankyou," I replied sincerely. I somehow felt a little better knowing Kyle was here.

"Come on, I'll make you some toast and hopefully you'll feel better by mid day, I don't like seeing my pretty little girl poorly," he pouted sadly before grabbing my hand and pulling me down stairs.

I hoped my illness would go too, but some how, I don't mind Kyle giving me all of his attention even for a few hours.

"Going to feed me poorly girl, going to feed my poorly girl," Kyle kept singing softly as he took me to the kitchen and I couldn't help but smile.

I had the best husband ever. I was as happy as ever.
