Today is the day. The third task. The last task until this dreadful tournament was finally over with. I automatically assumed that because it's the final one, it'll be the hardest.

Harry has been a nervous wreck for the past few days leading up to it, trying to prepare himself the best he can.

Cedric remained cool and collected, although I could tell he was just as scared on the inside. Speaking of Cedric, I should go and wish him good luck.

I walked down to where the tournament was being held to try and find out where the champions were. Just like in the first task, there were tents, but this time each champions got one to themselves.

I walked into the tent that was labelled 'Cedric Diggory, Hogwarts' on the front. I saw him sitting on a large couch with his head in hands.

"You okay Cece?" I asked as I walked in.

"Yeah, yeah. I'm fine." He said, standing up. He had dark circles under his eyes and looked as though he hasn't slept in days.

"You sure?"

"Just a tad nervous that I might die, that's all." He laughed.

"Don't be so stupid. You'll be okay Ced, I promise." I said with a smile. "Jack's throwing a massive party in the Hufflepuff common room for when you're done."

His expression brightened. After knowing Cedric for almost a year now, I know the one thing he loves most is a party.

"So it doesn't matter if I don't win?"

"Of course it doesn't. Just try come back in one piece so we can party all night." I joked.

He laughed. I watched his expression dimm as he reminded himself about what he was about to do.

"Come on." I said, as I opened my arms out for a hug.

He walked over to me and wrapped his arms around me tightly. "I don't want to let go." He whispered.

"Me either." I replied, holding him tighter. "As soon as you win I'll give you unlimited hugs, deal?"

"Deal." He laughed.

"I'll see you after, okay Cece?" I said into his shoulder.

"Yeah. See you after Floflo."

We pulled away and he smiled, the kind of smile that warms you up inside.

We waved goodbye and I left his tent. That moment, it felt different somehow, like it was............ perfect.

I saw Cho slip into Cedric's tent right after me. I smiled to myself, I was so happy that they got together, my Cece deserved the world.

I made my way to Harry's tent next and walked straight in.

"Hey Flo." He said quietly, not looking up.

"Hey. You ready?"

"Not even close. But what choice do I have?" He looked at me with a sadness that tugged at my heart.

My poor Harry. It was true, he didn't have a choice, he didn't even want this in the first place.

"You just need to.........stay alert, stay alert and focus. It'll all be over soon, and then we can do whatever we want."

"What are you thinking we should do?" He grinned boyishly.

"I have a few ideas." I said, smirking.

"Oh yeah?"

"Don't get too ahead of yourself, chosen one." I whispered as I nudged his arm.

He chuckled and turned to face me. "You know what would make me feel better?"

"Oh do tell." I said as I walked closer to him.

"I think you know." He tapped his cheek.

I sat down beside him, placed my hand on his cheek. I turned his head towards me and kissed his lips.

I didn't even expect myself to do that.

I pulled away from the kiss and saw that he looked pleasantly surprised.

"Oh shut up." I laughed as I nudged him.

Both of our grins dropped a moment after. I hate this whole situation. Harry never wanted this. In all honesty, I'm terrified for him.

I pulled him into a hug and held him as though it was my last time. I know he's a fighter. I just hope he's got enough fight in him for this.

"Good luck, Harry. I believe in you, you know that right? We all do."

He stayed quiet and I felt him hold me tighter.

I said against his shoulder before pulling away. "Just survive for me, okay?"

"I'll survive for you." He said, taking my hand. "I always do."

I smiled and slowly let go of his hand as I walked towards the door and out of the tent.

There was one thing in the whole world that I hated most of all. And it was saying goodbye.

A smile crept up on my face as Florence walked out of the tent. I'm never going to get used to the feeling of being with her.

I realised when I kissed her that we were never only 'just friends.' There is something between us, there always has been.

I walked out of my tent with a new found confidence and headed over to where Dumbledore and the other champions were stood. Together, we all walked out onto the quidditch pitch where the task was being held.

My new found confidence slowly faded away as I remembered what I was about to do.

Cheers erupted from the stands filled with dozens of pupils ready to watch. The band started playing an upbeat tune and we all waved out to the crowd.

"Silence!" Dumbledore yelled into the microphone. The music stopped and the crowd quietened. "Earlier today, Professor Moody placed the Triwizard cup deep within this maze. Only he knows it's exact position. Now as Mr Diggory-"

The Hogwarts students broke into applause, especially the Hufflepuff's who were yelling encouragement.

Cedric's father had come to watch him in the tournament and he ran up to his boy and held his hand in the air as the crowd continued cheering.

Seeing something like that made me wish my dad was here so he could hold my hand in the air. I would like that, I think.

"-and Mr Potter-"

The same thing happened, this time with the Gryffindors being the loudest roars and cheers for me. I looked into the crowd and saw Hermione, Ron and Florence yelling and clapping enthusiastically.

I just hope I make it out alive to see them again.

"-are tied for first position, they will be the first to enter the maze. Followed by Mr Krum-"

Durmstrang starting chanting fiercely.

"and Miss Delacour."

Beaxbatons politely applauded.

"The first person to touch the cup will be the winner! Should at any point a contestant wish to withdraw from the task, he or she need only send up red sparks with their wand." Dumbledore finished.

"Contestants! Gather round. Quickly." He turned to face the four of us with a grim look. "In the maze you'll find no dragons or creatures of the deep. Instead you'll face something even more challenging. You see, people change in the maze. Oh, find the cup if you can, but be very wary. You could just lose yourselves along the way."

His words made the hairs on my neck stand up straight. I don't usually admit this, but I'm terrified.

"Champions, prepare yourselves!"

The crowd burst into cheers and the music began playing again. We all walked to our separate entrances to the maze.

Cedric's father pulled him into a tight hug.

"Good luck. My boy." He whispered.

"See you later, Dad." Cedric smiled weakly.

Breathe.

Breathe.

Breathe.

I looked over at Cedric and nodded at him, as he nodded back.

I was never keen on him for being with Florence. And I know they don't like each other in that way anymore, but I never want to hurt him. I just hope we don't have to when we're in there.

"On the count of three. One-"

A canon boomed and Cedric and I went in first.

I gulped as I stepped into the maze. I turned behind me and saw Mad Eye staring at me, my eyes landed on his fingers which were pointing to the left.

Was that a hint? I'll take it.

The bushes that made the maze closed up behind me, blocking my view of Mad Eye. These bushes were at least thirty feet tall, leaving very little room for light and sound.

I wandered around misty corners for about fifteen minutes until I could no longer hear the sound of the crowd.

Everything was completely silent until I heard a chilling scream. I immediately ran towards the sound, racing around corners and turns until the screaming stopped.

I raced around a corner and froze, slowly backing into a bush.

Krum was just inches away.

I stepped on a leave and crushed it. Krum quickly turned around and held his wand to my face. I held my breath as I saw his pure white eyes.

He's been bewitched.

I closed my eyes, expecting him to curse me. When I opened them, he saw gone.

I turned another corner and saw Fleur lying on the ground.

I ran to Fleur to see that the vines from under the bush had wrapped around her and were slowly pulling her in. She looked as though she was in a state of paralysis.

"Fleur?" I asked, hoping to get a response.

There was none.

"Fleur." I panicked, trying to help her free, until I remembered what Dumbledore had said.

I raised my wand to the sky and shouted "Periculum!" A few red sparks shot out of my wand and exploded in the sky.

Fleur was now covered by the bush. I leaned over her and felt a large gust of wind and leaves race towards me. I looked and saw the bushes sealing behind me and so I ran. My heart was pounding. I kept running until I dove through an opening and the bush closed right behind me.

The wind stopped and I caught my breath before standing up. It had almost gotten me. Straight after, I heard someone yelling in a foreign language just ahead of me.

I turned to see Krum with his wand pointed in the air. His eyes were pure white and his skin looked ghost like. Someone or something has cursed him.

"Get down!" Cedric yelled from behind me. "Get down!"

I quickly ducked and avoided a spell that Krum had shot at Cedric.

"Expelliarmus!" Cedric yelled with his wand pointed at Krum.

Krum fell to the ground, unconscious. Cedric ran over to him and kicked the wand from his hand. He then raised his wand to Krum and I quickly grabbed his arm.

"No, don't! Stop! He's bewitched Cedric!" I yelled frantically. "He's bewitched!"

"Get off me!" Cedric jumped back and ran off for the cup.

I chased after him, catching up to him. We pushed and shoved each around corners until we froze.

Our attention was taken away from each other, and towards a shining blue light. There was something bright and blue at the end of the path. It started glowing, lighting up the bushes surrounding it.

The Triwizard cup.

We both looked at each other for a brief moment, before racing towards it.

Vines and leaves lashed out at us from every direction as we ran as fast as we could. One of them tripped over Cedric and he fell to the ground, groaning in pain.

I kept running. I had to keep going. It was so close. A few more seconds and I'll have reached it. I can almost touch it. It's right there-

"Harry! Harry!" Cedric yelled out, as the vines were wrapping themselves around his body.

I stopped in my tracks. What am I doing?

I turned around and pointed my wand at the vines restraining him. "Reducto!"

The vines broke and slithered back under the bush. Cedric stood up and took a second to compose himself.

"Th-thanks." He said through deep breaths.

"No problem."

"You know, for a moment there, I thought you were going to let it get me."

"For a moment, so did I."

He looked surprised at my response, but it was the truth, the maze really does change you.

"Some game, huh?"

"Some game."

We both looked at the cup and nodded at each other. The wind picked up and vines were being launched at us again

"Go!" He yelled, as we both took off running for the cup once again.

We quickly stopped before the cup. The bushes were catching up to us.

"Go on, take it. You saved me, take it!" He yelled at me.

"No. Together!" I yelled at him as he nodded. "One, two....three!"

We grabbed onto the handles at the same time, just as the bushes were closing in behind us.

I felt the sickening, spinning sensation of travelling by port key overwhelm me. It seemed to last forever.

I slowly opened my eyes expecting to see safety.

But no.

We were in a graveyard, and Florence was beside me.
