Harry, Hermione, Ron, and I all went back to Hogwarts.

It was deserted.

There was still dust in the air from two days ago when the war broke out and destroyed the castle we all once called home. It hurts to see it this wrecked and damaged, but I know that sooner or later it'll look brand new.

The four of us walked silently along the half destroyed bridge, Hermione and Ron holding hands.

They had filled me in on the new relationship status. It was official. They were dating. And I couldn't be more happy for them.

It had taken bloody long enough.

I stood at the edge of the bridge and closed my eyes. Hearing the silence around me, feeling the heat of the rising sun, and feeling the gentle breeze through my hair.

Peace. I felt nothing but peace. And that was something I've not felt in a long, long time.

Nothing had ever been easy for us, but maybe that was the beauty of it. We had to go through the horror to get here.

Now we're free.

I used to think we were just a bunch of teenagers who couldn't handle the lives we were born into. But we're so much more than that.

I opened my eyes to see Harry standing next to me,  holding the elder wand. I had almost forgotten he had it.

"Why didn't it work for him, the elder wand?" Hermione asked, her and Ron walking towards us.

"It answered to somebody else. When Voldemort killed Snape he thought the wand would become his, but the thing is, the wand never belonged to Snape." Harry paused. "It was Draco who disarmed Dumbledore that night in the Astronomy tower. From that moment on, the wand answered him, until that night I disarmed Draco in Malfoy manor."

"So, that means...." I began.

"It's mine." Harry finished.

"What should we do with it?" Ron asked.

"We?" Hermione asked him.

"I'm just saying, that's the elder wand. The most powerful wand in the world. With that, we'd be invincible."

We all looked at Harry.

He stared at the wand for a moment.

He gripped a hand on either side of it.

Hermione looked at Ron with an alarming expression.

He pushed down on either side.

And with a *snap* he broke the wand in half.

He turned around.

And threw both part off the bridge.

Hermione and Ron's mouths dropped as they watched the pieces tumble to the ground, gone forever.

But mines didn't. My mouth stayed firmly in place.

I know Harry, more than anyone has ever known him before. And this is why I love him.

He doesn't care about power, he cares about people.

We all stood in silence, staring straight ahead, taking everything in.

I sighed.

The three of them turned to look at me.

"What?" Ron asked.

"I was just thinking." I said.

"Thinking about what?" Harry asked.

"How we are the kids you can never kill."

We all smiled at each other and laughed.

"Yeah. I guess we are." Hermione said, smiling.

Harry slowly turned around and stood facing away from the castle.

I stood beside him and took his hand. Hermione, took mine, Ron took Hermione's.

We all stood hand in hand, looking out to our new world.

And even though Hogwarts had just been destroyed into a pile of rubble and ruin behind us, I felt like I was home.

Nineteen years later.

Harry and Florence attended Fred's funeral shortly after everything took place. A couple days before, Florence went back to the forbidden forest, found the resurrection stone, and gave it to George, so he could see his brother just one last time.

"Hey Georgie, I have something for you." Florence said, after everyone had left the church.

She was planning on staying to help George tidy things up, and thought now was the perfect time to give him the one thing she knew he really wanted.

"You didn't need to get me anything Flo, I mean it. I don't need anything."

"Oh just shush and take it." She said as she placed the stone in his hand.

George fell silent. He stared at the stone as if it was a creature from outer space. Until he realised what he was looking at.

George hadn't felt anything but sadness since his brother died. But now he felt it.........the warmth through his body, it was happiness. And he so dearly missed it.

He pulled Florence straight into a hug. "How did you-"

"It doesn't matter how. Just promise me one thing?"

"Of course. Anything."

"Tell Fred he's still my favourite arse, will you?"

Everything changed for George after he finally got to say his goodbye to his brother. His world seemed to light up and everything seemed bright again. But there was one thing he didn't know, Fred had never left.

Harry and Florence got their first house. It was a townhouse, just as they had planned. But it was somewhere special, very special indeed.

"Shut your eyes, no peaking." Florence instructed Harry, leading him along a path, blindfolded.

"Where are we going?" Harry laughed, tripping over his own feet and stumbling down kerbs.

"Okay, okay, stop. We're here." Florence stood back and took a deep breath. Her nerves were through the roof. What if she had made the wrong decision?

"You can take it off now." She said.

Harry removed the blindfold and he saw it. The wonderful place he never thought he'd get to see again. The wonderful place that held so many wonderful memories.

He was back.

At Twelve Grimmauld Place.

And was about to create a heck load more memories inside it.

"Welcome to our new house." Florence said excitedly as she clapped her hands. "Ready to start decorating?"

Harry felt one feeling, and one feeling alone.

Love.

Harry and Florence had gotten married four years later. Harry proposed to Florence at her favourite place, under the stars, just like their many nights spent at the Astronomy tower.

"You're the only one. Forever and always the only one, Florence." Harry whispered as they lay facing the stars.

Florence smiled at the love of her life. She knew he could never understand how much she loves him.

"I want to spend the rest of my starry nights with you." He said, taking her hands and pulling her up from the grass beneath her.

"Me too, always and forever." She smiled back. She was slightly confused about what this was all for but still felt so loved by him.

"Carrot top, I have a question."

"Yes?"

"Let me love you for the rest of your life. Will you do me the honour of marring me?" Harry asked as he got on one knee.

Florence gasped the loudest gasp and threw herself into his arms. "Yes you idiot! Of course!"

Florence had tears of happiness strolling down her cheeks. She had never felt so loved until she met him. She felt complete just knowing that he was hers and she was his.

Harry and Florence also attended Ron and Hermione's wedding. Where Ron stuffed some of George's sweets into his pockets and actually ate them while he was waiting on Hermione walking up the isle.

Ron whispered with his mouth full. "You look bloody beautiful Hermione, I-"

"Ronald!" Hermione whisper shouted as she just reached him at the end of the isle. "Are you really eating right now?!"

"What? Oh, sorry. Want one?" He asked, holding out some.

Hermione rolled her eyes and smiled as she took one.

What an idiot she thought. My idiot.

After their wedding, Ron and Hermione had two children, Hugo Granger-Weasley and Rose Granger-Weasley. Ron became an auror and Hermione chose to stay at Hogwarts for another year before becoming Minister of Magic, a job that suited her perfectly.

Harry and Florence also became aurors, just like they wanted. They were the most successful aurors of all time, of course. Would you expect anything less? They got their name, the dangerous duo, after taking down every last deatheater left after Voldemort's defeat.

"Look! There they go." Neville whispered to his wife.

Neville and Luna were good friends with Harry and Florence, but Neville still found himself in awe at their achievements together.

"Who?" Luna responded curiously.

"The dangerous duo of course." Neville answered as he watched Florence and Harry walk through the Ministry halls. "You know they took down every last deatheater? I wish I was that brave."

Luna smiled and took his hand. "Says my husband, who destroyed Voldemort's horcrux."

Neville smiled and rubbed his neck. "You don't need to keep bringing that up, Lu."

"Why of course I do. I need to remind the bravest man I've ever met that he's the bravest man I've ever met."

Florence and Harry had two beautiful children. Harry finally found out the names, and Florence finally found out the moment Harry knew he loved her. Both were waiting a long time to hear it.

Harry thought it was about time they discussed baby names. It was something that he wanted to know from the minute she mentioned it all those years ago.

He decided to take his chances while he remembered.

"So, I've been wondering."

"Yes?"

"Can we talk baby names?"

"Ah. Getting impatient are we?" Florence teased.

"No, of course not." He replied sarcastically. "Okay, yes I am."

Florence laughed at Harry.

"What are we naming our future son?" He asked her.

"I was thinking we name him......James."

James.

Wow he thought.

This is the girl I fell in love with.

This is the girl I married.

And she is so perfect.

"James. It's perfect. That way he can find his Lily, just like I found you."

"We found each other." She said as she placed her hand on his face and kissed his forehead.

"And what will our daughters name be?" He asked.

"I was thinking, and I want you to name her." She said excitedly. "I get to name our boy, and you get to name our girl."

"That's a lot of pressure Mrs Potter." He laughed.

"It's all right hon, I'll give you time to think."

"No. No need for that."

"You know already what you want to call her?" Florence beamed.

"I've known for a while."

It was so adorable that Harry had already thought about things like this, Florence thought to herself.

"Okay, go on. But Bellatrix is not an option." She joked.

"We'll that's my one gone." Harry joked.

She laughed.

"Daisy. We should name her daisy."

A bright smile formed across her face. "Oh Harry, I love it! What made you choose that?"

"Easy. Do you remember the day on the quidditch pitch outside Hogwarts in fifth year making daisy chains?"

She laughed lightly as she remembered back to that day. Just before it, she had cornered him in the hallway after acting suspicious during Dumbledore's army.

"Yes. Like it was yesterday."

"Well, that was the day I realised."

"Realised what?"

"That I was completely and utterly in love with you, Florence Merope Potter."

Their eyes met. His eyes locked onto hers.

"I love the look you get on your face when you're happy." He told her.

"This isn't the look of happiness, Harry. This is the look of being in love, in love with you."

Draco ended up marrying Astoria Greengrass. They had one son, Scorpius Malfoy. Harry and Draco ended up becoming good friends, much to Florence's satisfaction. Scorpius, along with Rose and Hugo, regularly came round to spend time with Daisy and James, after all, they were best friends.

Daisy was sorted into Slytherin in her years at Hogwarts, spending most of her time with Rose, Hugo and Scorpius.

And as for Teddy Tonks, who was a bit older than Daisy and James, he had been dating the same girl for a while now. Her name..... was Victoire Weasley, the daughter of Bill and Fleur.

harry pov

I sat down on the old black leather couch, feeling exhausted.

Clearing out our loft is harder than you think. There's a lot of stuff up here. Most of it is Sirius's, but even after all this time, Flo and I refuse to throw it away.

I sat down beside a pile of our old newspapers and smiled as I heard Florence laughing with James and Daisy. I'd never get tired of those laughs.

I looked through the newspapers until I came across one I'd never seen before. The newspaper was crumpled up on the floor at my feet. I picked it up, brushing off some dust from the top.

I began reading the first news story.

It was printed just a few days after Florence had woken up in her hospital bed after the basilisk fang incident. All that time ago. It was a miracle that I still thank god for everyday.

The story in the paper was about Florence and I.  About our lifelong relationship and the miracle that Florence had lived.

It said how hundreds of people wanted to get a glimpse of the chosen one's girlfriend, who turned out to be Voldemort's only child as well as the human horcrux that he meant to make, the opposite of me.

I read through it and smiled. They had gotten many things wrong of course, but there was one thing right and it went like this.

As it turns out, this super couple are bound to last forever. After seeing how the chosen one reacted to Florence Riddle, Voldemort's only daughter, wake up from an incident that can only be described as heroic, the readers and viewers of this moment can only describe one thing that they saw. Love. Nothing more, nothing less, than love. The purest of love that we, as a newspaper team, have ever seen.

From watching the couple, our newspaper team only managed to clearly capture three words from the chosen one himself. And these were 'I love you.'

This is how one of the photographers for our newspaper described the moment.

"We heard the words leave his mouth and we knew it wasn't a normal 'I love you'. It was the type that meant something. It meant people come and go like waves on a beach, leaving temporary imprints in the sand that eventually get washed away. But we knew, this 'I love you' meant that Florence Riddle was the only wave Harry Potter wanted, and he wanted her to leave imprints in his sand that never washed away. He wanted her forever, and he didn't need to say anymore for us to know, so we left after that moment because we knew that we got what we wanted, and so did he."
- Jiles Sanderson, Photographer for our newspaper.

If this isn't love folks, then I don't know what is. We expect big things from this couple, and I'm sure we won't be disappointed. That is all to this story.

I smiled. That is probably the only thing any newspaper has ever gotten right about us.

My eyes moved up line by line and finally landed on the title.

'His Chosen One'
