florence pov

My eyes fluttered open and I looked around at the room I was in. I was at the burrow. In the room I usually share with Hermione and Ginny.

I looked to my side and a smile formed on my face.

Harry.

He was sitting on a chair beside me trying to stop himself from falling asleep. Lucius kept telling me he didn't care. Why was he here? I felt like I knew were answer but I didn't.

"Good morning." I said weakly as I pulled myself up into a sitting position.

His eyes widened and he immediately jolted up. "Florence!" He pulled me straight into a hug and just held me. "Does this hurt? Should I be more gentle?"

I looked at him as we pulled away. "Y-You care?"

He looked at me like I'd just said the worst thing he ever heard. "What? Of course I do. What- why wouldn't I care? You're my girlfriend."

"Just- doesn't matter." I said quickly, feeling stupid and confused.

"Are you okay? Are you feeling ill? Are you hungry? Can I make you something?"

I laughed lightly. "You worry too much."

"I have good reason to." He pulled away and examined my blood stained bandages. "I'm so glad you're okay, Flo."

The more Harry spoke, the less I could hear Lucius's voice telling me my friends don't care.

"Me too." I paused for a moment before continuing. "I thought I'd never see you again."

Harry tucked my hair behind my ears. "What happened over summer Flo? Who did this to you?"

As soon as he asked this memories of the torture, blood and tears flashed through my mind, bringing a terrible sickness to my stomach. "I can't talk about it, not yet."

I saw his expression fall a little. I knew he'd want to know what happened straight away, but I'm not ready to talk about it. I don't know if I ever will be.

"Of course my love, whenever you're ready."

I smiled warmly at him and his understanding.

He looked over me, his eyes glazed with sadness. "I just wanna wrap you up in cotton wool and make sure you never get hurt again."

I would usually burst out laughing at that but it hurts. So I laughed lightly. "You're stupid." I moved my legs over to climb off the bed.

"Wait!" Harry urged as he carefully swung them back.

"What?" I asked through a laugh.

"Are you sure you can walk? You haven't been resting for very long."

"It's been a whole day. I can do this don't worry." I swung my legs back over.

Harry watched closely at my every move, making sure I didn't fall. He held his arms out protectively, ready to catch me at any moment.

I shakily got to my feet and winced in pain. He moved towards me. "It's fine." I said quickly, putting my hand in front of him.

Then I moved my foot forward and began slowly walking around the room. It hurt but I was determined to try.

"See, I can walk just fine. Can we go downstairs now? I'm so hungry." I whined.

He walked over to face me. "Yes, but you're taking it easy today." He waved his finger in my face.

I couldn't help but smile at him. "Yes, Mr Potter."

"Good girl."

I bit my lip as he grinned at me. If I wasn't in unimaginable pain right now, the things I would do to this boy.......

I pecked his lips and slowly walked downstairs. The pain got slightly worse, but it was nothing I couldn't handle.

I was used to pain now. Being tortured everyday built up some sort of tolerance I guess.

"Look who's awake!" George announced as I came into the kitchen.

"She's alive!" Ron exclaimed happily.

"Morning everyone." I croaked, as I took a spot next to Hermione and across from Ginny. Harry sat at the other side of me.

Hermione leaned her head against me. I did the same back. This was her way of saying 'i'm glad your okay.'

"You are on strict bed rest today Miss." Molly lectured.

"But mum, we're going to Diagon Alley to see the joke shop today!" Ron protested.

"Cmon mum, we've got to show her our masterpiece!" The twins said in unison.

"Can I be on bed rest tomorrow?" I asked sweetly, giving Molly my best puppy dog eyes.

"Oh alright." She gave in. "But no running, jumping, sneezing, or hard laughing."

"I'll do my best." I turned to the twins. "So, tell me about this joke shop."

A twinkle appeared in both of their eyes as they began ranting on about everything there was to know about Weasley's Wizard Wheezes.

----

Weasley's Wizard Wheezes was better than I could have ever imagined. Fred and George are absolute miracle workers.

Rows of shelves were lined with all kinds of cool prank toys and candies. Bright lights and colours filled the shop. There were smiles all around.

Hermione, Ginny, and I looked over some glowing pink love potions in the corner.

"Look who's checking you out." Ginny whispered as she nodded her head towards someone.

I turned to see a blonde haired boy. And he was looking this way.

I scoffed. "He's not looking at me!"

Ginny grinned. "Are you sure about that?"

I turned back to see him winking at me. I quickly looked away, my cheeks burning red as Ginny laughed.

Harry kissed my cheek as he came over to join us from the other side of the store.

"Hello ladies." Fred and George chimed. "Love potions eh?"

"They really do work!" Fred exclaimed.

"Then again, the way we hear it sis, you're doing just fine on your own." George smirked.

Ginny's face flushed a deep red as she looked down.

I turned to her in surprise. She hasn't told me about any boys, but then again, I was knocked out for most of our recent time together.

"Meaning?" She asked, as she placed a love potion back on the shelf.

"Are you not currently dating Dean Thomas?" George questioned.

"It's none of your business."

Ginny and George began arguing about her love life, so I turned them out and began looking back to the love potions.

"Hey love," Fred leaned down to my ear from behind. "I can get you a free love potion if you promise to use it on me."

I turned around to look at him.

I nudged him playfully. "You'd never be that lucky Freddie."

He smirked and winked. "Maybe it's time I used some liquid luck."

I rolled my eyes at his flirty comment and set the love potion down. I turned to Harry to see him glaring at Fred.

Suddenly Harry grabbed my arm and dragged me to another part of the store. "Come with me."

"W-What are you doing?"

"Nothing. Just wanted to look at something." He answered, with a strictness to his voice.

"Peruvian Instant Darkness Powder." I read a sign in front of some sparkling crystal rocks.

"A real money spinner that." George started as he walked up behind us. "Handy if you need to make a quick getaway."

Harry picked some up.

"What are you gonna use it for?" I asked him.

"I don't know. It could be useful I guess." He shrugged as he put it on the checkout counter.

Ron came up beside us, just as Fred joined George.
"How much for this?"

"Five galleons." The twins answered.

"How much for me?"

"Five galleons."

"I'm your brother."

"Ten galleons."

Ron rolled his eyes and pulled out five galleons. "Come on, let's go."

"Yes, let's. It's getting way too crowded in here." Hermione said.

We nodded and finished checking out. On the way out I accidentally bumped into someone.

Girl, why am I always bumping into people?

"Oh sorry." I apologised. I bent down to help them pick up a few purchases they had dropped.

"It's no problem." He stuck his hand out. "I'm Cormac, Cormac McLaggen."

I looked up. It was winking boy from earlier.

Great.

I shook his hand. "Florence Bailey." I introduced, using my fake second name.

"You're on the Gryffindor quidditch team, right Florence?"

"Yeah, chaser."

"Oh nice, I'm trying out this year for keeper."

I knew that was what Ron was trying out for, but I decided to be nice anyway.

"Well, good luck for tryouts Cormac." I smiled.

"Thanks. Hopefully I'll see you there." He grinned, before rejoining the crowd of students entering the store.

I'm going to take it he doesn't know I have a boyfriend.

I hurried to go catch up with Harry, Hermione and Ron outside the store.

As I got outside, I noticed that the twins joke shop was one of the only bright and happy places left on the street. Everything seemed to have gotten darker since we were last here.

"How are Fred and George doing it?" Hermione asked. "Half the alley's closed down."

"Fred reckons people need a laugh these days." Ron answered.

"I reckon he's right." Harry replied.

"Oh no." I said sadly as I saw Ollivander's. It had been completely destroyed, inside and out.

"Everyone got their wands from Ollivanders." Hermione said lowly.

We walked inside , trying not to step on the broken glass or holes in the floor.

I looked over towards Harry, and noticed that something had caught his eye. I followed his gaze to see Draco and Narcissa whispering about something outside a shop.

"Is it just me, or do Draco and mummy look like two people who don't want to be followed?" Ron asked as he spotted them too.

The two of them looked around suspiciously before disappearing down Knockturn Alley. I gulped as we began to follow after them. Knockturn Alley isn't exactly a place with a good reputation.

They looked around before entering a store called Borgin and Burke's.

Hermione beckoned for us to follow her up the staircase that led to the roof of the building. We all climbed up to where we had a view of the shop through a large window.

We peeked in to see Draco observing an odd looking cabinet. A group of deatheaters stood near the back of the store.

We all quickly ducked down as a person peered out of the window. I let out a quiet gasp as I saw who it was.

Greyback.

My heart began beating faster and my skin pricked with fear as I remembered what he did to me just two days ago.

Deep breaths.

Deep breaths.

He pulled down the blinds, blocking our only view in. I let out a frustrated sigh as I leaned back against the wall.

----

Later that night, back at the Burrow, Harry, Hermione, Ron and I sat in a circle around a newspaper that Hermione had enchanted to burn and float in the air.

"So what was Draco doing with that weird looking cabinet?" Harry asked us. "And who were all those people?"

"I don't know." I said. "It's probably not that big of a deal."

"Well then what's he doing in Borgin and Burke's? Browsing for furniture?" He asked.

"It's a creepy store, he's a creepy bloke." Ron said.

I laughed.

"We shouldn't jump to conclusions. It won't do us any good." Hermione finished.

I know what Harry's thinking. He thinks Draco has joined the deatheaters. He thinks Draco is up to something.

Draco wouldn't join them. He said so that night in the Astronomy tower. I just hoped he was able to keep that promise over summer, even with me being locked up in my room.

"So when did you actually get here?" Harry asked Hermione.

"A few days ago. Though for a while, I wasn't sure I was coming."

"Mum  sort of lost it last week. Said Ginny and I had no business going back to Hogwarts. That it's too dangerous."

"Oh come on." Harry said.

"She's not alone. Even my parents know something bad's happening, and they're muggles." Hermione added.

"Anyway, dad stepped in, told her she was being barmy and it took a few days, but she came around."

It was odd to think that Hogwarts isn't safe anymore. I've been dying to get there since summer started and to now hear that Molly didn't even want Ron and Ginny to return made me feel a bit uneasy.

"But this is Hogwarts we're talking about. It's Dumbledore. What could be safer?" Harry asked.

"Although there's been a lot of talk recently." Hermione hesitated.

"What kind of talk?" Harry asked.

"That Dumbleodore's got a bit........old." I finished for her.

"Rubbish." Harry exclaimed. "He's only- what is he?"

"Hundred and fifty?" I guessed.

"Give or take a few years." Ron added.

We all looked at each other and burst into laughter.
