I slowly opened my eyes to the blinding sunlight shining through the curtains. I turned around to see Harry peacefully sleeping. Then I attempted to peer over at Ron to see if he was still asleep.

Suddenly, thunderous snoring erupted from his bed. That was the confirmation I needed.

"Merlin, Ron." I muttered as I slipped out of Harry's arms and left the room.

My stomach rumbled loudly as I walked down to the kitchen for a morning snack.

"Morning darlin." A familiar voice greeted.

"Good morning Fred." I said as I sat myself up on the countertop. "Anyone else up?"

"Nope, just you and me. I was going to prank Ron and Harry this morning but when I peeked in I noticed a certain sleeping beauty in there and I thought it would be best not to wake her."

"Well, she is very grateful for that." I laughed as grabbed an apple from the fruit bowl and took a bite.

"So, I take it you and Harry are doing good these days, huh?"

"Oh yeah. We're doing great. Really great actually."

"Good. I'm happy for you. But remember, if you two ever......go your separate ways, you know where to find me." He winked cheekily.

I rolled my eyes and laughed. "Ah Freddie, always the flirt."

"Only to you." He grinned.

"Who's flirting?" Ginny asked as she walked into the kitchen.

"Who'd you think?" George asked as he followed behind her. "I know my twin better than I know myself, it's always gonna be him."

"Not always Georgie. Our little sis here has got herself a boyfriend." Fred sang. "She's a flirter too."

"Actually, Dean and I broke up."

We all turned to her in surprise. I had a feeling this was going to happen, but not so soon.

"Oh Ginny." I walked over to her and hugged her tightly.

"I'll kill him for you if you want." George offered.

"I'll bury the body." Fred finished.

"It wasn't that kind of breakup. We're still good friends." Ginny sighed, sadly as we pulled away. "Thanks Flo."

"Our offer still stands." The twins said in unison.

"Yeh well if I wanted someone dead I'd ask Flo's father." Ginny said as she looked at me.

"Touché." I said as both of us laughed at her dark humour.

I've learned to make jokes out of the pain, because otherwise it would drown me.

"What do you mean you'd ask Flo's father?" Fred asked, in confusion.

Mine and Ginny's laughter died out as the realisation hit us both like a ton of bricks. I hadn't told Fred and George about my parents yet.

Fear surged through me. I froze and turned around to look at them.

They both stood in confusion, staring at me curiously.

"Well come on Flo." George began. "Who's your father?"

I stuttered. "I-uh-I-"

"Shit." Ginny muttered. "Shit."

"It can't be that bad." Fred joked as he took a step towards me.

I looked at him fearfully.

His voice softened. "Flo?"

"Tell them, Flo." Ginny said softly.

"Yeah tell them Flo." Fred repeated.

"I-I can't. So many things could go wrong." I whispered.

"If it could go wrong, it could also go right." She took my hand. "They'll understand. They might be idiots-"

"Hey!" George interrupted.

"Sorry. They might have.......underdeveloped brains....."

"I'll take that." George muttered.

".....but they love you. We all do."

"Okay." I nodded and took a deep breath in. "Voldemort and Bellatrix." I blurted out. "They are my parents."

Moments of silence passed as they processed the information. I was used to silences now.

"Holy fucking shitballs." George said.

Fred looked me in my eyes. "There's no way."

"It's true.....unfortunately." I sighed.

"Wow. Fuck me." Fred said, running his hands through his hair.

We all looked at each other and laughed.

"Guess we were the only ones who didn't know ae Freddie?" George nudged his brother.

For a moment I could almost see a look of hurt pass through Fred's expression, but it was quickly covered up. "Guess so. I better watch my behaviour around you now Miss Riddle."

I laughed. "Yes, you better."

So now the Weasley's, the order, Dumbledore, Neville, Luna, Hermione and obviously Harry knows. Okay probably more that I'm forgetting about.

It was scaring me. I've never felt so vulnerable yet free at the same time.

"Good morning everyone." Hermione beamed as she walked into the kitchen.

Perfect timing.

"Morning Mione."

All of us had just gotten out of bed and still had our pyjamas on with awful bed head. Except Hermione of course, she was fully dressed and prepared for the day.

No surprise there.

"I passed by Ron and Harry's room on the way down. They're still fast asleep of course." She said as she pulled out a yoghurt pot from the fridge. "I could tell by Ron's inhumane snoring."

"Do you remember the morning of the Triwizard Tournament?" Ginny asked us. "They almost made us all miss it because they wouldn't wake up."

We all laughed together. I missed when times were simpler.

"While we're bringing up old memories," George started. "We can't forget the quidditch match we played over Christmas break a few years ago."

I thought back to that time. It was brilliant. My team won just at the last minute because I managed to grab the snitch. Then seconds later I almost knocked Ron straight off his broom it was that dark.

We all laughed and reminisced over the past together. A smile formed on my face as I thought about the many memories we're still to make here at the Burrow.

----

After a long day of packing and hanging out my best friends, the Weasley's, Moony and Tonks, the sky grew dark and it was almost time for bed.

Molly's making us go to sleep early because tomorrow, we go back to Hogwarts.

I've had a great day and all, but, something feels off. I can't really explain it but it's as though there's a strange presence around me. I must just be getting mixed up with my excitement and nervousness to return to Hogwarts.

I walked up the long set of stairs to the bathroom. As I made my way up, I noticed Harry sitting on a step.

"You okay?" I asked.

"Yeah, yeah, fine." He paused for a minute. "This sounds stupid, but I've just have this weird feeling all day. Almost like-"

A huge flash of light passed by the window and Harry stopped talking. We both ran over to see what was going on.

A giant ring of fire was blazing around the Burrow and someone was standing right in front of it. I peered a little closer and gasped.

My mother.

Bellatrix Lestrange.

Harry turned to me with his hands firmly on my shoulders. "Promise me you won't move." Desperation filled his voice. "Okay? Don't." He toon one last look at Bellatrix before dashing down the stairs to the front door.

What was it with men and thinking they can tell me what to do?

I hurried after him, worrying about what he was going to do next. I expected him to stop at the front door where everyone else had gathered, but he kept on running.

"HARRY, NO!" Moony yelled helplessly as Harry slipped past him.

"Come and get me!" My mother yelled excitedly. She opened a pathway in the fire and ran through it to the weeds.

Harry followed after her. Moony started to run after Harry.

"Remus!" Tonks yelled as she ran after him.

The fire reconnected just as Moony and Tonks got to it.

I tried to slip past Molly and Mr Weasley. I almost managed until I was quickly grabbed back.

"Fred! LET ME GO!"

"To get yourself killed?! Are you kidding?!" He exclaimed angrily.

"Let. Me. Go." I struggled out as I flailed and kicked to get out of his grip.

"She'll kill you even if she is your mother Florence! You know she would!" He yelled.

"Fred!" His name was called by George, and as he looked around, I finally slipped out of his grasp.

"NO!" I heard his voice call desperately. But I paid no attention to it. I had more important things on my mind.

I bolted through Molly and Arthur as fast as my legs could carry me. I have to get to Harry.

"FLORENCE!" I heard Moony shout as I passed him.

As I ran towards the fire it opened itself up to me, just like it had for Harry. I jumped through and carried on.

"I killed Sirius Black! I killed Sirius Black!" My mother yelled from somewhere in the tall grass.

I was running with an anger coursing through my veins. How dare she mention his name again. How dare she.

"Come get me lovebirds!"

I followed her voice through the grass, unsure of which direction I was heading in. I ran out onto a clearing and crashed straight into Harry.

"What the hell are you doing here?!" He whisper shouted as he pulled me up from the ground.

"I couldn't just leave you!"

"Yes you could!"

My mother's chanting continued behind our conversation.

"No I couldn't! We're in this together remember!"

"Do you realise how much danger you're in Florence?!"

"If you tell me one more time about danger, Harry, I swear-" I froze as I realised my mother's chanting had stopped.

There was no sound apart from the gentle winds dancing through the tall strands of grass around us. We stayed silent and backed up into the middle of a clearing.

I reached for my wand.

It wasn't there.

Oh shit. I left it in my room.

A low growling came from the grass. Swish's were heard from all around us.

"Harry! Florence!" Mr Weasley called out from the distance.

The growling got louder and louder. It sounded...... familiar.

Greyback emerged from the grass and I took a few steps back in utter fright. All the terrible feelings I felt during summer came flooding back like a tsunami.

"Greyback." I breathed unevenly. I started shaking. My pulse quickened.

"Miss Riddle. We meet again. Don't worry, this time I'll finish the job." He snarled with a gruesome smile.

I felt sick. Really sick.

"Stupefy!" Harry yelled at him.

Greyback blocked the spell and continued moving towards us.

Mr Weasley, Tonks, and Moony all ran to us from different places. We all had our backs against each other and our wands raised.

I noticed all the deatheaters had disappeared into the grass. I could feel them watching us.

Suddenly black smoke appeared from difference patches in the grass and travelled up into the air. The same thing happened in multiple different places around us.

There were so many of them, they were just hiding. The clumps of black smoke all flew in the direction of the Burrow.

I thought for a moment that we were safe until I heard a horrible scream coming from Molly Weasley.

Arthur ran straight for her and we followed just behind. We met with them to see the Burrow covered in flames and crumbling down.

No. This can't be real. The Burrow can't be gone. It's the last home I have, it's the last home we have.

The eleven of us stood in silence, staring up at the flaming house. It felt as though something inside me was burning along with it. All those memories, all those happy times, burned along with the house.

For a while I've been waiting for the moment that would fully make me realise that the war has began.

It was now.
