florence pov

After our classes had finished for the day, we all headed to the room where the Goblet of Fire had been placed.

The large bronze cup had vibrant blue flames shooting out the top, illuminating the room.

Hermione and I sat down on some benches at the side. They had left these out for people who wanted to watch and see who put their name in.

Claps and cheers erupted throughout the room as I saw Cedric and his friends running up to the Goblet.

"Come on Cedric!"

"Put it in!"

"Go on Ced!" They encouraged him.

Cedric turned to look at me, just before he put his name in. I nodded and smiled and he dropped it in the Goblet.

"Eternal glory. Be brilliant, wouldn't it?" Ron started, sitting behind Hermione and I. "Three years from now when we're old enough to be chosen."

"Yeah, rather you than me." Harry joked.

"I'm okay without eternal glory. Plus I'd rather not lose a limb or die in the process." I said in the same tone Harry used.

"Fair enough."

Fred and George suddenly ran into the room holding tiny vials of liquid in their hands. The whole room started cheering and clapping for them.

"Well lads, we've done it!" Fred announced, raising up the vial.

"Cooked it up just this morning." George said, proudly.

"It's not going to work." Hermione sang, still looking at her book.

The twins came over to us and sat down, one at either side. "Oh, yeah?"

"And why's that Granger?"

She snapped her book shut and smiled as if they knew nothing.........which is halfway true.

"You see this?" She pointed at a white line surrounding the Goblet. "This is an age line. Dumbledore drew it himself."

"So?" The twins asked at the same time.

Hermione laughed sarcastically. "So, a genius like Dumbledore couldn't possibly be fooled by a dodge as pathetically dim witted as an ageing potion."

"Ah but that's why it's so brilliant."

"Because it's so pathetically dim witted!" The twins exclaimed, high fiving over our heads.

"Flo has faith in us, don't you love?" Fred asked me, nudging me.

"Not in the slightest, but I say go for it! I want to see a good show." I grinned.

"Yes ma'am." George grinned.

They both jumped up and intertwined their arms.

"Ready Fred?"

"Ready George."

"Bottoms up!" They yelled as they both downed the potion.

They hopped across the age line and dropped their names into the Goblet. Nothing out of the ordinary happened. The room started cheering and clapping with excitement.

Then the Goblet began shooting lines of fire from itself and we all ducked for cover. The twins were thrown out the circle and onto the hard ground.

Long, white beards grew quickly on their faces and their orange hair had turned icey white. They looked up at each other.

"You said!"

"You said!" They yelled and George climbed onto Fred as they began fighting like children.

Everyone gathered round and chanted "Fight! Fight! Fight!", laughing at them both.

The noise died out as Victor Krum marched into the room. Everyone watched as he walked up to the Goblet and dropped his name in the fire.

We all clapped for him, and before he left, I noticed Hermione and him holding some pretty intense eye contact. She looked down and blushed quickly.

"Hermione Jean Granger!" I exclaimed.

"What?" She asked, like nothing had happened.

"I saw that."

"There was nothing to see!"

"Whatever you say, Mrs Krum."

We both burst into laughter.

----

Celeste and I were sat in the courtyard, catching up.

We laughed as she made a joke.

"But really, are you okay? I saw the......mark at the quidditch world cup in our local newspaper and my heart dropped for you. Do you think it's happening, you know, what we talked about?"

"I don't know. I really don't. I just have to hope not. That's all I can do."

"Have you told them about you yet?" She glanced around to check if anyone was listening, then lowered her voice "The real you?"

"No, but I'm planing to........soon." I looked away and changed the subject. "Talking about them, how's you and RON?"

"No! It's not like that!" She giggled and looked away covering her face.

"Oh come on Cel! I see the way you look at him, and how he looks at you." I put my arm around her. "You're in love chérie!"

"Oh shush would you?" She laughed as she shook her head. "That's so dramatic. I would never."

"Okay, so hypothetically, if he appeared here right now and asked you on a date, you'd say no?"

"Um, w-well no........I'd say yes." She saw my face light up and my mouth open, but she quickly put her hand over it. "But he doesn't even like me that way."

I removed her hand from my mouth. "I wouldn't be so sure." I winked, standing up with my books to walk away.

"Wait!" Celeste called after me. "What does that mean?! Come back!"

I started to run as she laughed and chased after me through the halls. I sped round a corner ran into someone.

AGAIN?!

I fell to the ground and my books scattered across the floor.

What is up with me and bumping into people this year?!

I took the persons hand as they helped me up and I picked up my books. I looked up.

This is getting weird.

"This is happening too often now." Cedric smiled charmingly at me.

I blushed violently and smiled back. "I guess so."

Celeste saw the look on my face as she caught up to us. "Oh, who's this?" She asked raising her eyebrows at me.

"I'm Cedric, Cedric Diggory. Floflo and I..... well, this happens a lot doesn't it?" He winked, cheekily.

I hit his arm and laughed. "Unfortunately for me, it does." I said sarcastically.

Cedric chuckled and held out his hand to Celeste, she gladly shook it.

"Celeste Dupont."

"Nice to meet you. Well, trust me, I'd love to stay and chat ladies, but can't be late for class." He waved goodbye and jogged along the hall towards his class. "See you!"

I waved back cheerily and Celeste jumped in front of me.

"I'm not sure what the British signs are, but nicknames, winking, eye contact, are you guys.......you know?" Celeste asked.

"Celeste no!" I laughed. "No. We just seem to bump into each other......quite a lot."

Celeste gasped. "It's fate!"

"What?"

"Fate keeps pushing you two together! You're destined to be with him!" She exclaimed, throwing her arms dramatically.

I laughed as we walked along the halls. "I'd hardly call it fate, just me being a clumsy idiot."

"It happens almost everyday, Flo. It's fate. End of story." She said as we entered the Gryffindor common room and flopped onto the couch. "Or, maybe that's your meet cute."

"And what's a meet cute?"

"Oh you know, when two people first meet and didn't know they would completely fall deeply in love with each other and it's super duper adorably cute."

I threw a cushion at her and rolled my eyes. "For you and Ron maybe? The first day you two saw each other he couldn't take his eyes off you."

"Phht, I wish." She muttered under her breath.

I whipped my head around to face her, and her eyes widened and she realised I had heard her.

"I knew it!!!" I yelled.

She buried her face in a cushion and groaned.

----

That night I had trouble sleeping. I kept hearing screaming and seeing flashes of green light in my dreams. I hadn't really told anyone, but the dreams I had in summer are constant now. As in, everyday. I cant escape them.

I crept down the stairs and into the common room where I grabbed my go-to book, Pride and Prejudice. Usually Lucius would have tried to take it from me because he doesn't like me owning muggle items, but I'm quite good at hiding things......as we've found out.

After an hour of peaceful reading by the fire, I heard footsteps coming down from the stairs. I panicked, pulled out my wand, and pointed it at the person coming.

"Merlin's beard Flo! It's just me!"

I let out a sigh of relief. "Sorry, Harry." I breathed, turning back to my book. "Thought you were a murderer or something."

He chuckled as he sat down next to me. "Good to know I look like a killer from far away."

"Why are you up?" I asked him.

"Nightmare. The same one with the gardener and the snake and the other man." He said, yawning.

He had a nightmare the same night I did? Again? That's.......no. What am I thinking? Nightmares are common.

"Do you really think it's just a nightmare? Or do you think it could be.......you know, real?"

"I don't know. I'm choosing to ignore it for now. All I want is a normal school year." Harry sighed.

"If only." I sighed. I turned back to my book again until a cushion whacked the side of my face.

I turned to Harry and laughed. "Hey! What was that for?!"

He flashed me a lopsided smile and chucked another cushion at me. I caught it and started hitting him with it.

"Ahhhh!" I yelled as he picked me off the ground playfully and threw me onto the couch.

"Shhh!" He laughed as he let go of me and left me lying, out of breath on the couch.

I jumped up angrily.

"What?" He asked in between a laugh.

"It is not nice to throw people!" I exclaimed as I playfully pushed him.

"Woah feisty! Okay, relax, just calm down." He laughed as I kept pushing him back. "Calm down!"

I stood back and lowered my voice. "Okay, okay. I'm calm."

Harry chuckled as he watched me.

That set me off. I ran for him again and he quickly moved to the side and grabbed both my hands, pinning me against the wall.

We were both panting, our eyes were locked on each other. I felt utterly vulnerable as he stared at me through those wide, circular glasses of his. A longing feeling grew in my stomach as I struggled to tear away from his gaze.

He was close to me. So close. I found myself longing for him to be closer. He quickly let go of me and stood back as I coughed awkwardly.

"I'm just g-gonna go finish this chapter of my book." I said awkwardly, blushing.

"Oh yeah, yeah. Good idea." He said as he sat on the armchair across from the couch. "Looks like a pretty nice book."

I laughed under my breath.

We sat quietly in each others company and made small talk for the next five minutes. Not gonna lie, we were both in shock at what had just happened. It was intense. I need to be more careful.

I glanced at the common room window as the moonlight shone through, illuminating a section of the floor.

I stood up and walked over to the window, gazing out at it. "Don't you think it's fascinating?" I asked him.

He walked over and stood beside me. "What?"

"The moon. How everyone in the world is looking at the same moon."

I felt his eyes on me. "I love that." He said quietly.

"What?" I turned to him.

"How overly enthusiastic you are about the things you love. About life. About everything."

My cheeks glowed red again. Did he really think those things about me?

"I'm not enthusiastic, am I?"

"You are. You remind me to appreciate the beauty of the world, even when I forget to."

I smiled shyly at him and sat back down on the couch, turning back to my book. A few minutes passed and I looked up and saw Harry staring at me.

"Caught you." I smiled as I narrowed my eyes playfully at him.

"What can I say, you hypnotise me Florence."

Butterflies erupted inside me. My stomach tightened and pulse quickened. Those words were very full on.

"Will I always hypnotise you Harry?" I smirked, trying to play it cool.

"Always." He said. Just like that snowy day at Hogsmeade.

I tried to hide my smile. "Someone got brave this year."

"Maybe, or maybe I've just decided to start going after the things I want."

"And what is it that you want, Mr Potter?" I asked crossing my arms.

I could feel my heart beating faster inside my chest as I tried to ignore it. He could say anything right now. Anything at all. But there was only one word I wanted to hear.

"It's a secret, Bailey." He answered, smiling at his own cleverness of words.

And those were not it.

"Clever. Using my own line against me."

"I learn from the best." He winked before heading off to his dorm for the night.

I don't know how much longer I can go on telling myself I don't like him.
