A daughter is a miracle that never ceases to be miraculous.

Giara's POV.

"Arghh." I groaned rubbing my forehead. Stupid Nick! Always shouting unnecessarily. I closed my eyes for seconds to calm my aching head. Did I hit my head or something? I don't remember. All I remember was punching the tree and passing out. Maybe my head hit something when I passed out. Hmm that's it. I thought nodding.

"Ahh shit! It hurts! Where did I fucking slammed my head?" I cursed holding my head. Gosh it hurts from just nodding. "What do I do? Should I call someone to pick me up? No. They'll create drama over nothing." I somehow got up taking the support of tree, leaning against it I took a deep breath and made my way outside of the forest towards my abandoned bike. I leaned against it and thought about calling someone again. Then I remember Nick's shouting. Never mind. I'll make a stop at pharmacy. Climbing on the bike I speeded off. My head was aching too much. It's like the air was piercing through my skull. So I slow down a bit. It was easy since the road was empty.

I pulled brakes as soon as I saw a pharmacy. I pushed the door open, the little bell on top rang alerting the owner that new customer was in.

"Hi! How may I help you?" Middle aged lady greeted smiling at me. I tried to smile back but I am sure my face looks scrunched. It even hurts to smile. I held my head, tried massaging it to stop the pain so I could talk. "Oh my goodness!" The lady gasped. "Honey, yours hands! They're bleeding!" She exclaimed rushing towards the racks behind her and collecting some bandages and stuff. "Come in here." She opened the flap like counter for me to walk in. Pulling a small stool she made me sit. "What happened?" She asked as she cleaned my hands with wet cotton.

"Umm, I had a little accident." I replied.

"Honey you should have been careful." She scolded playfully glaring at me. I sheepishly grinned. She applied ointment and then started bandaging. "Is this good? Or is it too tight?" She asked rolling the bandages around my knuckles.

"Nah, it's good." I replied.

"There all done." She said after bandaging my other hand too.

"Thank you." I said looking at my well bandaged hands.

"Oh you're welcome." She said as she cleaned the counter which had wrappers and blood covered cottons.

"Miss?" I called looking up at her.

"Yes?" She turned around before throwing the trash in dustbin.

"Can you give me something for my headache?" I asked while rubbing my forehead.

"Of course." She nodded and went towards the racks again. She came back with some tablets and water bottle. "Here take one." She handed me the tablet. I put it in my mouth and gulping down water with tablet. Ahh, bitter. I scrunched up my face and looked up when I heard a chuckle. "Here, take this." I took the candy gratefully smiling at her. "Is your head hurt or something?"

"No, I don't think so. I don't remember." I replied.

"Maybe you should visit a doctor." She suggested, I just hummed. My cellphone beeped again. It was a text from Jack.

Jack:
Where are you?

Giara:
I'll be home in 20.

I looked up and smiled at the lady. Thanking her, I paid her and left waving goodbye. I sighed as I made my way home. There's going to be lot of questioning. No doubt, Commander will be there. How did he even came to know about what happened? Must be Nick. That snitch.

My bike stopped roaring as I pulled brakes and turned of the engine. I pushed the strands of hairs behind my ear which had escaped from the ponytail. As soon as I entered inside the house I was bombarded with questions.

"What the hell G?!?" Alec shouted.

"Are you crazy? What were you thinking?" Nick blabbered.

"We were worried you idiot!" Jack exclaimed hugging me. I was squished against his chest. I patted his back.

"Jack let her breath." Commander said. Jack quickly pulled back stood in attention position. Commander looked at me, he was about to speak.

"I am fine guys. You don't have worry." I said completely ignoring Commander and walked towards my room.

"Gi-" Alec called but was cut off by someone. I don't know who and I didn't care.

I walked into my room closing the door behind me. Why he is here? It's not like he cares. Oh wait. Of course he is here. After what I did I deserve a lecture. Or maybe worse. Whatever I don't care anymore. I sighed, my stomach grumbled. I looked down at my stomach and sighed again. I need to eat but before I need to change these clothes. My white t-shirt had blood spots and dirt. I quickly changed into black tank top and grey sweats and tied my hair in bun on top of my head. I made my way downstairs directly into the kitchen. Alec was stirring something in pot.

"Hmm, What are you cooking?" I asked as I sat my ass on the stool.

"Tomato soup. It's almost done." He said gathering some plates and bowls. "Nick! Is Jack back yet?!" He shouted.

"No!" Nick shouted back from somewhere.

"How much time does one requires to just bring bread?! Is he buying bread or making it!?" Alec shouted again in frustration.

"Why the hell are you shouting at me? It's not like it's my mistake? He is taking time not me!" Nick shouted. I stared back and forth at them. It was quite amusing to see them argue.

"STOP SHOUTING!"

"I AM NOT! YOU ARE!"

"NO YOU ARE!"

"NO YO-" Someone cleared it's throat making them stop.

"Ah Commander! We just-" Nick stopped speaking when Commander him the look.

"Bread is here!" Jack exclaimed as he walked into the kitchen.

"How much time does one need to bring bread?" Alec mumbled snatching the bread from him.

"What? There was traffic plus market was crowded!" He reasoned.

"Yeah, yeah. Now go grab plates!" Alec ordered rolling his eyes. "Commander I cooked tomato soup. I hope that's okay with you." Alec said serving soup. Commander just nodded without any expression making me roll my eyes. Now I get why Jay is annoyed with me nodding at every single thing.

"Here G. Eat well." Jack said as he served me.

"I will." I said digging in. "It's good Alec. Thanks." I said slurping some and chewing on bread.

"No problem." He smiling and settling down with his soup. It was silence then. I could only here everyone slurping their soup. Just because of his presence or else it would have been all chatter and jokes. Nobody uttered a word.

"Alec thank you for the lunch." Commander said as he stood up with his plate.

"Oh, I'll take that." Alec said taking plate from his hands.

"Giara I would like to speak with you." He said turning towards me. Everyone stopped what they were doing and turned towards us. I nodded and stood up since I was finished eating. I placed my plate and bowl in sink and walked towards my room motioning him to follow me. I opened the door to my room, he walked in staring around.

"Here have a seat." I said pulling him a chair. He sat down crossing his legs. I stood in front of him with my hands locked behind my back, my stare straight ahead. He cleared his throat.

"Have a seat." He said motioning towards bed. I looked at him. He stared back. I took a deep breath before settling down on bed. "Look what happened today was not supposed to happen." I didn't react, my stare was at his forehead. "What you did was reckless? How can you just run off like that? You worried the Olsen's. What were you thinking running like that? Us Edwards never run from problems. We face them and fight back." Oh so now I am a Edwards then. I thought but I kept quiet. It's better to be quiet. He'll speak whatever he wants and then he'll go.

"I understand you were upset. But the Olsen's were worried. Blake called me asking if you were alright." He said. I nodded but kept quiet. "I think you should leave this case. I'll let Nick handle this. You need a break. I think you should start your sessions again."

"No." I said

"What?" He asked.

"I said no. I will not leave this case. I was assigned and I will complete my job. And this time it's not only because it's my job. It's because I care and you won't stop me." I said looking into his eyes.

"You don't get to say that." He said

"Yes I do. You said face your problems and now you are asking me to leave this case."

"I said that because I am worried about you. That boy. How could he call you that? Does he have any manners?"

"Oh please! It would be better if you stop with the caring act. I know you don't, so please stop." I chuckled bitterly. "Just hearing the word worry coming from your mouth makes me laugh. I mean seriously, you and worried? That to, about me?" I laughed.

"Giara-"

"Don't. Please don't even try to explain. I understand everything now. It's just that I was too stupid to hope. I was too stupid to think that I would make you proud. But now I get. You don't have to worry though. I'll complete this job and be out of your hair as soon as possible." I said and stood up. "And yeah. It would be better if you stop interfering. So please tell you dog to get his nose out my business and case." With that I left him in my room. I opened door and three idiots stumbled back. I rolled my eyes. "Jack?"

"Umm yeah?" He said straightening.

"If you are free we have some place to check out." I said.

"Yeah." He said following me. I gave one stared at Nick as I passed him. He opened his mouth to speak but was stopped by Alec.

"So where are we going?" Jack asked as he tapped his fingers on steering wheel.

"Where the ball was held." I replied.
