The eighth month of Rose's pregnancy went quickly, perhaps she was happy that Drew merged into Tyler's school well, her crew were getting back into the swing of work again, despite her being barred from the work until after Sammy was born.

It was all going well, even Ace was playing his part, he got on well with Scott and the team, even got himself reacquainted with his gang business after being away for so long. All these good things also meant that something was coming, everything was too perfect for something not to happen.

Right now Rose was alone in the house for the first time since coming back from Australia and she felt weird about it, happy she was finally able to breathe, but odd that none of the guys were going to pop out of a room somewhere.

Drew was in his second week of high school, Scott had taken the security team on a job a few towns over which meant they were renting motel rooms till the job was done, it was a simple security gig that would take a week, they had been there three days already, and Ace was busy, probably causing problems with the law.

Just because they weren't in the house, meant nothing, there was always someone messaging or calling to check in to the point of Rose wanting to throw the phone against the wall.

She was the one to send them on the job after all, the past month Rose got back into a routine, not as extensive as she'd like but enough to keep her going and manage to get everyone out for a while.

Sitting in the living room, the television on in the background, Rose got lost in all her thoughts until her phone rang. She groans in annoyance thinking it was one of the guys checking in, surprisingly it was Tyler, she hadn't seen or spoken to him since arriving home a month ago and visiting Lara and Richard so they could see she was okay.

"Hello?" she questions, this was unusual.

"Rose, I need a favour" Tyler's voice rings down the phone,

She couldn't help but roll her eyes, "Well hello to you too Tyler, and why can't you do it yourself?" she wonders.

"Because I'm in school and if I leave again the principle will expel me" he says.

Rose snorts, typical Tyler, "Mom and dad are working, Ace isn't answering his phone and if I don't hand this work in after lunch, coach will bench me for the rest of the season" Tyler says in a distressed tone.

Rose sighs and gets off the couch, grabbing her keys off the table she moves to the door, "What am I getting?" she asks him as she locks the house door and heads into the garage.

Tyler breathes in relief "My homework on my desk in my room" he explains.

Rose cringes at the thought of going in Tyler's room. When her crew did a check on the house, they came out of Tyler's room looking like they had seen a ghost. The place was a pigsty and no doubt nothing had changed.

A part of Rose wanted to say no, but Tyler was the type of person that didn't take no for an answer sometimes and when that happens, he could drive you to literal insanity.

With her phone shoved into her trouser pocket, she climbs onto her Ducati bike, she hadn't ridden in a while and all the SUVs were with her father and Drew had her car for school.

Placing the helmet on she turns the ignition and it purrs to life like it was ridden just yesterday. She couldn't help but smile at the feeling of the bike between her thighs, the warmth of Ace's jumper kept Rose warm as she drove down the streets towards the Mathew's residence.

The one family that got involved with the Quinten's more than others thanks to Ace and Rose. However, they were yet to figure out the death threats. Before Rose fled to Australia the threats had ceased, but that didn't mean the job was over, the security was still in place around the house in case anything did happen and still had checks running through the mass of employees Lara and Richard Mathew's had at their companies. They just removed the human security.

When Rose returned with Ace, he gave her a key to the house so she could stop by any time she wanted, even though Ace was living with her back home.

Tyler's room was just as horrific as first described, Rose couldn't help but gag at the smell and wonder what girl would want to come back to this mess. How someone could live in mouldy takeaway boxes, stale clothes all over the floor and bed sheets that had seen better days.

Careful not to step in anything nasty, Rose made it to the desk which was littered in crap, she found the stained homework Tyler asked her to collect and practically ran out of the room holding her breath, she didn't want to inhale those fumes.

Rolling up the papers she puts them in her hoodie pocket and heads back out the house, locking the door behind her.

Climbing onto her bike the hairs on the back of her neck stand up, she felt as though someone was watching her, but she looks around and finds no one. She would stay and look around, she didn't have her weapon for protection, Scott wanted to reduce the chance of her putting herself in danger, even so she wouldn't risk Sammy, not when she was alone and decided to get out of there was safer if someone – not likely was there.

Barely anyone was on the roads as she drove to the school most were in work or school. When she pulled up to the school she sighed, so many memories of her own torture in school back home in England. Ones she never wanted to repeat.

Part of security checks for the Mathews were also covering the school, so she knew where she was going. Locking the pricy bike up for safety, she leaves the helmet on the seat and takes the bike keys with her. It was lunch time now and the halls were bare, she knew Tyler would be in the cafeteria.

The cafeteria was packed with loud students, all of them in their own groups of friends. Unsurprisingly, Rose found Drew in the centre of the room, wearing his letterman jackets and surrounded by his teammates and girls.

Rose takes more steps into the cafeteria and the deafening noise decreases; they all turn to look at the strange girl in the cafeteria.

The table Drew and Tyler sat at was the only table in the middle of the room; to accommodate the large group of people they put many tables together. It was the cliché area to sit, right in the middle where everyone can see you and the one table, everyone wanted to be at.

Rose felt the stares as she approached the popular table, many of the cheerleaders looked at Rose and her choice of baggy clothing and sneered at the sight before them, but she didn't care.

Walking up to Tyler she pulls out the papers and slaps them down on the table, Tyler looks up at her with a raised eyebrow, "Something died in that room, you should get it cleaned" she says to him.

Tyler rolls his eyes, she was being over dramatic, "Well you won't be going back in there again, so it doesn't matter" he says.

Rose nods her head in agreement "I will never step foot in that room, unless of course to torch the place, which I might actually do, save us all a painful death" she smirks at him.

Tyler was surprised "You wouldn't dare" but he knew Rose all too well.

Leaning forward so their faces were inches from one another she smiled, "Want to bet?" she asks, Rose never turned down a bet, nor did she ever lose one.

Tyler's eyes widen at the threat and she smirks knowing he wouldn't accept the challenge, standing up straight she pats him on the shoulder and chuckles.

Walking around a few chairs to Drew he looks up at her and smiles. She smiles back and then climbs onto his lap without a word.

"Well hello to you too" he states with sarcasm, looking down at her with a grin.

She looks up at him and smiles "Hello" she smiles with a small yawn.

The other's around the table watch as Rose sits on Drew's lap and the girls scowl in annoyance, "How does she get the new hottie, but every time one of us tries, he shoves us off" she huffs out, irritated by the fact Drew made no move to push the strange girl off.

Rose bites her lips to hold back a smile and her laughter, Drew also smiled holding in his laughter, but Rose snorted upon seeing Drew's face and that was all he needed to see to start chuckling.

She tucked her face into Drew's chest to muffle the sound.

"Shouldn't you be in middle school or something?" a girl across the table asks. She was dressed as a cheerleader and her voice nasally, her face explained the voice though, she looked like she had a few nose jobs in the young life.

Rose sobers up and looked over to the girl "I already graduated high school thanks, I'm in my second year of college" she informs her.

England schools finished at sixteen, college was typically two years and by eighteen they could go out in life and work or extend their knowledge and go to university.

The girl huffs and turns her focus on one of the jocks sat next to her.

Rose notices movement outside the cafeteria; one wall made up of windows, that opened up into the school quad which led into a forest area creating a barrier on one side of the school grounds.

At first, she thought it was a student, she kept her eyes elsewhere but adjusted herself so she could keep an eye of the person.

The figure moved and Rose noticed it was in no way a student, they were too old. He moved near the door to the cafeteria and she saw something shiny held in his hand. Everyone in the cafeteria was oblivious to the situation in front of them, except herself.

She didn't have time to warn anyone as the glass door smashed open an a few people screamed in surprise.

"Nobody move" his voice dark and threatening. Drew tightened his grip on Rose, but she was already moving to stand up, and automatic response to being threatened.

He tried to grab her waist but couldn't with Rose being pregnant he didn't want to hurt her or the baby.

Rose's movement had everyone looking at her including the intruder, he smiled cynically at the girl. "You are a tough person to find Rose Quinten" he says.

She raises a brow in surprise at the fact the guy knew her name which meant she was the target "Who are you?" she asks moving around the table to get near the guy, she was calculating his movements and potential casualties should the intruder take a hostage.

Tyler reached out and grabs Rose's arm "Rose what the fuck are you doing? You are in no shape to fight" he hisses at her.

She scoffs and pulls her arm from his grasp. "You have no business here, leave" giving him the opportunity to get out before things go downhill.

He cackles like an old bat, "Sandra sent me here to do a job and I never leave without finishing a job" he says with determination.

"Let me guess, Sandra wants me dead?" knowing it was the only option, she wanted Rose dead the moment she found out about being pregnant.

"And all you brought was a measly knife" she smiles amused.

"Well I wanted a little fun first" he says with a shrug, that was his favourite game torture.

"I can totally see the fairness, I only need my hands, you apparently need a little help in that department" knowing the little insult will have him agitated.

There was nowhere in the cafeteria that was safe to fight, however Rose didn't think he would agree to go elsewhere to fight, so she would have to be aware of her surroundings.

She thought he would charge at her, but instead threw the knife, if she didn't move to the side, it would have landed her in her chest instead her shoulder took the hit. People in the room screamed, but Rose was unaffected.

The guy who threw the knife charged at Rose, punching her in the face, she miraculously stayed on her feet, keeping his attack from her stomach, his hits were pathetic, and he knew Rose wasn't about to go down.

Grabbing the knife from her shoulder he wraps his arm around her neck and holds the bloody knife to her throat "Now I can finish what I came to do" he says pressing the knife further into her throat, she winces as the knife breaks the skin and fresh blood travels down her neck.

Before the knife bore deeper into her flesh, she threw her head backwards and smashed into his nose, his grip on Rose released as he stumbled backwards, grabbing the knife from his hand, she spins around and stabs it into his neck, he didn't have time to react and soon coughed trying to get oxygen into his lungs.

"Is he dead?" someone asks behind Rose.

She turns around and shrugs "Not yet, but he will be" she says like it's nothing new. But she was focused on everyone else around her until another spoke.

"I've called the cops" a jock says out of fear of what he just saw.

Rose's eyes go wide, "Oh shit, that means they won't be the only ones coming" she mutters.

Tyler stands up and looks at Rose with fear and confusion "What the hell is going on?" he asks looking between Rose and the now dead guy on the ground.
