Ain had the habit of walking at the poolside a er dinner, but she went to her room directly this time. She was biting her lower lip and thinking about the situation 'I shouldn't act like a mouse. He hasn't said anything to me, I shouldn't be afraid of him. And I won't be.'' she thought and stood up with a new spirit.

She was trying to be brave as she got out and went to the poolside.

She relaxed, as she didn't encounter anyone in the way. She walked for sometime, and then sat down looking at the reflection of the moon in the water. She sat on the edge of the pool for a long time. It was well lit so Ain didn't feel scared either.

She didn't acknowledge how much time passed, when she heard a cold voice near her "You should be asleep right now."

Ain's head took a 180 degree turn quickly and saw Zarkhan standing there against the door, his arms crossed over his chest and his gaze was like fire. Ain hurriedly got up and tried to pass through the door, but there was very little space. She looked at him hoping that he would move, but his focus was on the pool, as if he couldn't even feel her standing there.

"P-please!" She whispered and cursed herself, not being able to under
stand where her voice had gone.

Zarkhan looked at her but still didn't move, but his eyes did the job, she couldn't wait for him to give her space. She turned sideways and got through the door quickly and then ran upstairs, leaving a smiling zarkhan behind. "silly.." He whispered to himself and went inside.

When she sat down, Ain rested a hand on her heart, her heart racing from the exertion. When she checked the time, she discovered it was only 10 p.m.

"You should be asleep..... Am I a baby?" She said to herself, mimicking Zarkhan and then laid down with a humph.

The next morning, she was thankful when zarkhan wasn't on the breakfast table.

She began her day like every other.

"I want to bake a coffee cake." Ain said out of nowhere at noon. Raisha smiled and asked her to go ahead.

"I think everything is stocked in the kitchen, but if you need anything, ask the cook to get it." Raisha said.

Ain smiled and headed towards the kitchen. She started making the batter as saba came in " Phew! Please pray that the young master wont find any problems with the cleaning in his room. He is going to kill me if he can't find anything." she said, making a sad face. she had just come back a er cleaning his room. Other servants usually did the cleaning, but to avoid any mistakes, Raisha told her to do his work.

"He didn't seem that scary." Ain said thoughtfully.

"Oh! You haven't witnessed his anger yet. Just wait girl." Saba said.

Ain baked the cake and le it to cool down.

Zarkhan and Hamdaan came back from the office in the evening.

Hamdaan only went for visits, it was Zarkhan who handled everything.

Ain wanted them to spend some family time, she didn't feel comfortable, but Raisha told her strictly to get the cake as the servant served the tea.

Ain didn't dare look at zarkhan . Mr Awan smiled seeing the cake "What have you baked today?" he asked ain.

"Coffee cake." Ain replied, looking at him. Zarkhan was astonished seeing the attraction. His father who was known for his rigid personality was busy smiling and chit chatting with the young girl, who he could bet would faint hearing a raised voice.

Ain served everyone, Hamdaan and Raisha praised her like always.

Zarkhan wasn't a fan of sweets, but he took a bite. He was shocked that he actually liked it, it was less sweet than normal cakes, maybe that's why he took another bite, "It's good, isn't it?" Raisha askedZarkhan. He only hummed in response and continued eating.

"Have you talked to your grandma?" Hamdaan asked zarkhan.

"Yes, I have. Even today, I called her at noon. She is doing well and was asking for us to come. Mom, haven't you gone recently?" zarkhan asked Raisha at last after answering his father's question.

"No! Your dad goes a er every few days, but I couldn't..'' Raisha said not to give him the explanation . zarkhan understood that she couldn't leave Ain alone here and wanted to help her settle down here first. Their village was 2 hours from there, their grandmother lived there with his uncle and their family. His parents also spent a lot of time there, but first Hamdaan and now him, as they had to handle business, they couldn't stay there for long.

While they talked, Ain was busy looking around the yard. She loved flowers and to her good luck, the garden was well maintained and filled with flowers. She could easily say that the garden and pool side were her favourite parts of the house.
