Hannah POV

"Let's go out to lunch today." Logan said. "I know the perfect restaurant we could go to."

"Oh my goodness! What is rich people food like?" Mom beamed. "Caviar? Fish-"

"Mom!" I said.

"Oh! I-I apologize!" She quickly collected herself. "What's the food like around here?"

"It's actually pretty good." Logan said. "But... I do have a favorite. It's a burger place."

I wanted to scream in excitement but I didn't.

"We don't have to leave until noon, so you'll have plenty of time to get ready."

I went upstairs to my room and took a shower. I washed my long hair. I should really cut it. Once I finished, I stepped out the shower and dressed. I pulled on blue jeans and another turtleneck. It was snowing today. I wanted to be warm.

I pulled my fur boots on my feet. I brushed my hair then pulled it into a high ponytail. I started on the homework Violet told me I missed until noon. I rushed down the stairs to Logan. He was sitting on the couch, staring blankly at the floor.

"Logan?" I said smiling. "What are you doing?"

"Hm?" He looked up. "What did you say?"

"Nothing. Never mind." I said, walking past him. "Come on, let's go."

In two minutes, we were in the car driving down the road with my parents. "I have never been in a Lamborghini before!" Mom yelled. "It's amazing! Rich people have it all!"

I let out a sigh and watched the city flash by. It was so beautiful.

"We should get a house around here, Don." Mom said. "We would get to see Hannah everyday!"

"Miranda, do you have any idea how expensive a house around here would cost? We don't have that kind of money."

"I do." Mom shrugged.

"What do you mean you do?!" Dad yelled.

"Mom! Dad! Could you two stop with all the arguing? Please?" I said, looking back at them.

"Alright, alright." Mom said, crossing her arms over her chest. "We'll keep calm."

I continued to look out the window. Logan was being unaturally silent. His face was blank as he stared at the road.

"Logan?" I said.

"Hm?" He looked up at me. "Did I pass a red light?"

I stared at him for a moment in silence. "Umm, no. Never mind."

He looked back onto the road and continued to stare.

"Here we are." He said as we approached a small brown restaurant. He parked in the empty lot and we climbed out the car.

"Oh, this looks like a place we would go to doesn't it honey?" Mom said, smiling at Dad. "Memories."

"I don't remember this,"

Mom quickly frowned. "Shut up! Don't joke around like that!"

"Shall we go in?" Logan asked.

"Yes please!" I said.

Logan held the door open for us as we walked in. They followed me to a booth. We sat down. The table was completely made of glass with salt shakers and napkins laying on top of it. The restaurant looked old fashioned inside. Everything looked to be either made of wood or glass. Photos of people who I assumed to be the owners scattered the walls.

After a few minutes, we were approached by a waiter. "Hello everyone, my name is Kindle. I'll be back with your menus in a few minutes. Thank you." He bowed, then went to the back.

"Do you think they have a bathroom here?" Mom asked, shifting in her seat.

"Yes, they do." Logan said. "It's in the back."

"Thank you." She stood and disappeared in the back.

Dad stared at Logan and I, saying nothing. He let out a sigh.

I took a salt shaker into my hands out of boredom. It didn't look to be open. I heard a sound behind me and I jumped. The shaker fell from my hand and landed in it's side, spilling salt all over the table.

"Oops! I thought it was closed!" I said in embarrassment.

"Hannah..." Dad sighed. "I'll get some paper towels." He stood and went to the bathroom.

"We could use napkins, you know!" I yelled after him.

I slumped in my seat. I'm such an idiot.

"Do you think they'll make us pay for this?" I asked Logan.

He didn't respond to me. I sat up and tugged on his arm. "Logan? What's the matter with you?"

"What? It's nothing." He said, not looking at me.

"Come on, you can tell me what's wrong."

He opened his mouth, then closed it again.

"Logan... tell me."

"I... I just wish my parents were like this, you know? You may think your parents are annoying, but I beg to differ. Your father jokes around a lot and your mother gets distracted very easily. My parents never joked around. They worried about money and only money. Your parents are a breath of fresh air to me." He gave me a smile. "I guess you could say I'm jealous of you, Bunny."

"You don't have to be jealous of me at all, Logan." I said as I hugged his arm.

"Well, it's hard not to be. I'm sorry, Bunny. I didn't mean to make you feel bad for me."

"You don't have to apologize. I want to hug you."

Suddenly, The door of the restaurant swung open. Five guys came in, each one bigger than the other. They smelled terribly of cigars and vodka. "Waiter! Waiter! Get us a few burgers!" One of them said. His teeth was the color of a yellow crayon. I looked away in disgust.

The waiter came out with our menus. He placed them onto our table. He frowned at the salt mess.

"Sorry," I said. "It was an accident. My dad went to get paper towels."

"As long as you clean it up, it's fine." He smiled then went to the five men. "You know the drill, Jason. Take your seats and wait patiently like everyone else has to."

"And what if I don't want to wait? I want my burger now!"

"If you don't want to wait then leave. We don't need your company. I'd prefer it for we didn't-" The waiter didn't get to finish his words because he was punched. His entire body turned a 360, then his body slammed onto the ground. He didn't move. He was unconscious.

"Oh my god!" Mom yelled behind me.

"What the hell is going on our here?!" Dad yelled, throwing the paper towels onto the table.

The quickly men came toward us, cracking their knuckles. "Hello, Logan Python. You remember me, don't you? You ripped my soccer uniform to pieces because Noah dared you to."

"I apologized to you for that, Jason. Besides, that was three years ago."

"That's not why I'm here. I was just making sure you remember who I am. Anyway, my guys and I were sent here to kick your ass." He smirked.

"Who sent you?" Logan growled.

"That's irrelevant. We have a job to do and we're gonna do it. Boys." He snapped.

"Don't you dare-" Logan started.

My arm was quickly grabbed by a giant hand. The man circled his arms around my waist tightly. He began to squeeze me. I screamed. "Let me go!"

"No can do, little lady. I'm gonna crush you from the inside out. It'll hurt like a bitch, but you'll be fine."

My parents... I would hate myself if they got hurt. "Mom! Dad! Get out of here! Call the police!" I yelled.

"But Hannah-" Mom yelled.

"You heard her!" Dad grabbed Mom's arm and they rushed from the restaurant. Good, now I know these guys weren't after them.

"Jason, tell George to let go of Bunny right now." Logan growled. "I will not tolerate anyone hurting Bunny."

"You will have to tolerate it today. What are you gonna do, huh? Say you'd rather get beat up then her? Ha!"

"That's exactly what I was going to say."

"Pfft! You're a real pussy Logan!"

I could hear loud sirens from outside. Finally, the police are here! "Fuck!" Jason said. "Lets just get this shit over with."

Before Logan could even move, Jason picked up his body and slammed him onto the glass table. "Take this, you bastard!" The table shattered into a million pieces.

"Logan!" I screamed. "Stop this! Please!"

The other guys began to pile on his body, punching him and kicking him.

The guy who had a hold of me squeezed me tighter, crushing my body. He was suffocating me.

When a scream of pain came from Logan, my heart shattered just like the table did.

The door of the restaurant was kicked down. A dozen cops rushed in and pulled their guns out. "Puts your hands in the air! Now!" They yelled.

"Do you think I'm scared of you, officer?" Jason said, pulling away from Logan's body. His lip was busted, blood on his hands.

"Put your hands in the air or I'll shoot!"

Jason smirked and began reach into his back pocket. "You should know, I have-"

A loud bang burst into my ears. My ears rang, blocking out all the noise. I closed my eyes. I didn't want to see this or hear it. I just wanted to go home with Logan.

When I opened my eyes, Logan's body was being lifted into an ambulance truck. The man holding me was gone. He was in a police car, glaring at me.

"Who sent you?!" One of the officer yelled at him.

"Fuck you!" He screamed back.

The door to the ambulance closed and it began to drive off. "Wait! Logan!"

A lady officer grabbed my arm before I could run after the truck. "No ma'am, you can't. His parents have been notified. They'd like for him to be alone."

"Can I meet him at a the hospital or something?!" I said, yanking my arm away. I was sick of being touched today.

"You can, but you are not permitted to enter the room."

"Ugh!" I yelled and fell to my knees in tears. I covered my face with my hands.

"Keep yourself out of trouble, young lady. You'll end up dead like Jason over there." The officer said, laying a blanket on my body.

"Yes ma'am. I will. Thank you." I sobbed.

Logan... I can't believe this just happened.
