Currently the you were all currently walking home as Kageyama and Hinata were eating the treat they were given.

"All said and done, that pretty boy had an amazing serve. We would've been in deep sh*t if we had to deal with that the whole match. I guess we should've expected as much from Kageyama's upperclassman..." Tanaka spoke as he suddenly stopped in mid track

"Wait, why'd you even join Karasuno?" Tanaka asked as all of you then stopped, as Kageyama finished up the treat he was eating

"The strongest school in this prefecture is Shiratorizawa" Tanaka spoke

"Shiratori?"

"Shiratorizawa. By far the best team in the prefecture, and a powerhouse that's among the top eight of the country" Tanaka stated

"Wow"

"I didn't get into Shiratorizawa" Kageyama answered bluntly

"You what?!"

"They didn't give me a recommendation, so I took the entrance exam and failed. It was Greek and Hebrew to me" Kageyama explained

"Yeah, I heard it's hard to get in the normal way" Daichi said

"Oh, so the king isn't very good at studies" Tsukishima said as he passed all of you along with Yamaguchi

"Tch"

"oh yeah, Takeda-sensei mentioned that you were pretty good at academics and you played chess, you must've got a recommendation from Shiratorizawa, right? Y/n-chan?" Sugawara said as he turned to you

"I did actually, even High schools in and out of Miyagi. I also got a recommendation from collage school outside Japan" you said

"Eh?!"

"skipping high school would be boring when most people described high school as the 'best part of life' so I turned it down... Well that's what other people say, As for the other schools outside Miyagi... I also turned them down since I'm already fine here in Sendai plus I want to continue my studies at a place that doesn't have much ability users. " You explained

"why Karasuno, then?" Hinata asked the two of you

"Because, I heard coach Ukai was coming out of retirement" Kageyama responded

"Ukai?"

"The miracle worker who led no-name Karasuno to the spring nationals" Tanak said as he pointed to the sky

"'Karasuno's Ukai' became famous all across the nation. They called him a coach who led a group of violent crows."

"He coached the current upperclassmen a little last year. He was a real hardass " Sugawara spoke as both Hinata and Kageyama looked at him with envious looks

"Why do you look envious?"

"Let's say I got a little bored of chess" You spoke making them look at you

"So you choose Karasuno because you got bored?"

"It's not like that but... I love seeing the crying faces of my opponents who are older than me, every time I beat them but... I've been doing that for two years straight so I decided to do something new" You explained

'is she a sadist or something?!'

"Oh, going back to our first topic, Our team are short on members right?" You said, changing the subject

"yeah. We need a defensive cornerstone; a libero, and an ace spiker who can take on three blockers by himself" Kageyama stated

"I call that!" Hinata said as he raised his hand

"I told you already! You're the greatest decoy!"

leaving the two to bicker, you looked at the two third years, "But didn't you say our 'guardian angel' would be back soon?" you asked them

"Yeah" Daichi responded

"we're no powerhouse, but we're not weak either. This team had some talented players during my time here, but we never managed to put their strengths together" Sugawara spoke, making the duo stop talking

"but if all of us come together again, add you first-years to the equation, and put everything he have together..."

"then the summer interhigh-- Taking the national throne-- won't be just some far away goal. I'm certain that it'll be within our reach!" Daichi finished

"I've heard about the summer interhigh!" Hinata beamed

"But this guy you say is coming back... Where has he been all this while?" You and Kageyama asked in unison

"ahh... he was suspended for a week and banned from school activities for about a month" Tanaka answered

"Is he a delinquent?" Hinata asked

"Hell no!"

"He's just... a little too passionate, is all. He's seriously a nice guy. " Tanaka stated

"That's not all, he's Karasuno's one and only prodigy, though I guess he's not the 'one and only' anymore, now that we have the super-cocky Kageyama too.' Tanaka said as he glanced at Kageyama

"Call him 'senpai' when he comes back, Hinata, Y/n. You'll make him stupidly happy just like Tanaka"" Daichi said as he continued walking along with Sugawara

"Stupidly?!"

"eh? so he's like Tanaka-san?" you asked as you caught up with them
